    Honestly the golden ticket does more than just give him a pass to do the job he wants. It shows higher ups that his previous mistakes don’t put weigh the good he’s done. And him picking TO, which is arguably the most selfless choice someone could make, it shows the goodness of his character. Him using this doesn’t mean TO us all he’ll be. This could be the foundation that he creates his career on

    Nolan is by far the most caring person in the department as it stands. He doesn’t seek glory and honor, he keeps a level head in so many stressful situations, and he will always have his team's back. He is far beyond deserving of that golden ticket and then some. I started this show with low expectations, especially since the best police drama show is Bosch. But it is definitely good, have some complaints ofcourse but I think they can be ignored . Actually I like this more than castle, Castle had far far far more flaws in the plot and I could barely watch the first episode of last season which was horrible. The middle seasons of this show has low ratings surprisingly which is odd since the plot is good, has fever plot holes and the characters are pretty interesting.

    If he has the golden ticket and chooses to be a TO, why would he even need to take the TO exam. I thought the golden ticket allowed you to get any job in the department that you wanted, within reason of course.

    • @blcs3270
      @blcs3270 11 месяцев назад

      Pretty sure it's not a 'no requirements necessary' golden ticket. They still need to go through proper channels and training/assessments for whichever role he wanted. Likely just meant that he'd have the department's backing to prepare him, further training IF he had messed up somewhere in the exam and all.

    • @DoremiFasolatido1979
      @DoremiFasolatido1979 11 месяцев назад

      No...nobody's ok with that. But they can't get her right now...period. He knows that. But he also knows that means people are going to die.
      I'll guarantee he hates it...but dwelling on it and gnashing teeth and wringing hands over it isn't going to accomplish anything but making him worse at his job.
      It's not unlike Chess. You can't just pick up a piece and put it wherever you want to put the enemy King in Check. You make the moves you can make, until eventually you accomplish your goal. Today, Rosalind got her King out of Check. Now it's another game of moves until they get another shot at her. Blindly moving pieces all over in a vain effort to corner her would be counterproductive, and probably result in more deaths, not less.
      The point of telling Nolan that she'll lay low and only kill those who "won't be missed" is an effort to get him to not beat himself up over it and wait for the opportune moment to take her down properly. Because anything else will just make matters worse, not better.

    tbh i find this "decision" to be purely plot based and not character based at all. it was a poor short excusethat he wantsto bepart of the change.
    he has shown both interest and talent in being detective and has shown that TO was a compromise since the other wasnt available.
    we have not seen anything to show that the character has actually done tings to find the TO position attractive to him.
    this was a clear plan B for the character but it became plan A due to plot and i find it annoying...
