I have a 2015 Honda C-RV. Been a decade now and I have invested ZERO dollars into it. Just regular maintenance. Over 173K miles now and going strong. Giving it to my daughter this summer for School traveling. The best vehicle I ever owned. Sure, it vibrates a little....but gimme a break, it's INCREDIBLY reliable. I put that thing through hell too
me too. purchased new july '15. end of this week or first thing next week will hit 101,000. not 1 day out of service, not even a dead battery or hard start. mine had the TSB done a couple months after i bought it. helped the vibraton but not a 100% fix. it's at idle while in gear, not underway. the 2016 had that TSB as part of the factory build, is the only difference between those 2 years. it is a torque converter issue. doesn't harmonize with the cvt. i have found a few things that make all the difference. it takes more than a few lines, and if you don't own one, not an engaging read. so..TL;DR maintenance. not just maintenance, but proper maintenance. 1) spark plugs 2) clean the throttle body & reset the idle. this is not the spray can while engine running, but physically cleaning the throttle body with the battery disconnected. 3) change the PCV valve every 25,000 miles. i have had my vehicle serviced exclusively at honda, and not one time during all the upsells or suggested mileage interval services did anyone mention the PCV valve. or throttle body cleaning. those made a Big difference in smoothing the idle. 4) drain and fill the tranny fluid. if you have no idea about the service history of your '15 or '16, do it once a week for three weeks, then one drain & fill every 30,000. dirty tranny fluid in this vehicle, and i mean Very dirty, will start to degrade performance to the point it appears to be engine related. spooky but true. and rare, is the good news on that. 5) get the engine (head) valves adjusted.6) twice a year - on an empty tank of fuel, add one little bottle of Chevron Techron, then fill the tank. next fillup-tankful do the same. do this every 6 months. 7) drain & fill the coolant every now and then too. it's super easy in this vehicle. i did that, the pcv, spark plugs, and battery myself. kid stuff. and, i got my new car back too. right after plugs, pcv, throttle body, and valve adjustment. Wow, i picked a good one. 200,00 isn't a goal, it's an expectation. lastly, and something that can be debated until the cows come home... this vehicle is the first i ever owned that doesn't run better on premium gas. but at 99,500 miles i added a bottle of chevron techron to an empty tank, and filled up with Premium fuel. it ran better. i had tried premium 3 ot 4 times over the years and it never did anything positive, until now. maybe age and engine wear related? i have stuck to that - premium - and my ride runs great. and idles not perfect, but perfect for what it is. "It" being the vibrating while at idle when in gear. the end... ps, i like the direction this channel is heading the past couple months. there's lots to watch out for in the car market, made even tougher by techies who lay down whatever asked without even blinking. we need a heads up on better pricing than that. at least over here on "the coast." peace.
Just got a 24 Forester Touring last summer. Drives most awesomely. HOWEVER.....it leaked from the sunglass holder in the ceiling during a heavy rain. Me be a bit worried.
@martinr8278 Well... they couldn't tell me anything. They tried to reproduce the leak, but couldn't. So I'll keep an eye on it. I got the 7 100,000 warranty so if it's going to be a problem I should be covered. I do love the car though.
Just traded my 2016 cx5 grand touring trim in on a BMW x3. Only reason was that I had almost 130,000 on it and felt it was time to say goodbye to it and move onto something different. It was the absolute best vehicle I’ve ever owned and I’ve owned no less than 40 in my lifetime. Not one issue with it. Just changed the oil and brakes and drove the piss out of it. Insanely reliable vehicle.
We bought 2 2016 Mazda CX5’s. Both had the CMU issue where the infotainment and usb charging systems failed (just after 3 1/2 years and 40k miles) 1 st one Mazda offered very little help, took 15 months to get the part ($1500 repair) and literally on the drive home heard a grinding noise. The grinding was the differential. Again Mazda offered no help, $5000 repair on a $22k car with 50k miles. Second CX5 we are not fixing, probably take it to a can bank when it dies.
@@thomasdietrich3550 WOW! Mazda really dropped the ball with their poor handling of the situation. It was stupid for Mazda to be disrespectful towards you. It is a shame because the CX 5 appears to a solid vehicle, and it sucks big time that you have to deal with this.
Love my rdx and mdx with no reliability issues away from recalls which didn't affect me except shattering rear windshield on rdx. Or daughter no issues with CRV and our sin no problem with hrv.
Who cares about cars that are 4,5,6 years old. Whenever you buy a used car you are taking a chance. You really never know the care it had from the person/persons before you.
@@bigbuck9984 If the used vehicle has low miles, clean carfax, regular dealer maintenance that dealer can verify, you are fine. I bought a 10 year old vehicle that had all the above plus a mechanic check it out, and drove it for 6 years with no problems. You just have to do your homework to find the right vehicle.
Toyota and Honda…..ouch. Wouldn’t touch a RAV4 (dud) and those I know that have leased them, along with CRVs, (dud) turn them in for either a Subaru or Mazda, sometimes Kia’s…..can’t blame them. Thanks for the facts on this video. Good to educate the uneducated

CRV hasn’t done well since 15, no they’re even getting worse. Perhaps they’ll get better in a couple years

2015 Honda crv does vibrate when stopped. It can be helped with a radiator bolt improvement. Love the car
Software updates is number one recall now. Fortunately, the latest tech does over the air software updates.
I'll stay with my 04 Highlander.
I'm surprised no GM, Fords or Jeep on this list.
Eventually everything breaks,my 330,000 mile Toyota 96 Tacoma still runs
Vibrating disaster? Shake uncontrollably? Sounds like the "death wobble" of the Jeep I used to have.

Used cars do have maintenance needed of course, but major systems problems just show makers making 💩
I own the 2016 CX-5 and have none of the reported issues. I bought the vehicle with 4 miles on it. I would recommend it to anyone.
