    Watching Dracula's face come to life was magical, truly. The first layers looked good, but as you continued, wow. The way the light looks so blended/luminescent on his skin... just so satisfying. Lucy's expression was captured as you said, and I really loved how Mina turned out! A beautiful colour palette for that one

      Thank you! Sometimes, the process can be scary because I never know how the faces will turn out, but when I get there, I'm all the happier! 💖🥰

    Wow thank you so much for this super helpful and informative video! I had no idea bout the 3d studio and I will now go download and try to use it as I have so many ideas but I struggle to draw them accurately from imagination lately especially since it involves elaborate thoughts and/or more than one person. I always learn so much from your videos and you always motivate me to draw afterwards 🤩 your Dracula themed paintings are amazing ❤

      Thank you - I'm so happy if this was helpful! It's more of an "intro" than a proper tutorial, showing the tools I use the most, and I hope they fit your own art process, too!
      There's a bit of a learning curve to 3D, but once you get the hang of it, it's so helpful. I mentioned Blender in the video too, another free program, which can even use the exported DAZ 3D characters in larger scenes. Both are amazing, and there are great tutorials out there. ❤️

      @ I hate learning curves because I’m eager to paint NOW but I’ll make sure my free time now won’t go to waste so I finally tackle the blank canvas my husband got for me in hopes I will create something. Been staring at me for the past 8 months !

      @@ExoNViruS blank canvases are the worst - I have one medium-sized (large to me!) that I've been staring at for a year now :'D
      And just playing around while watching a tutorial or two is really helpful, and perfect for a rainy afternoon. I hope you can get these ideas onto canvas!

    Great to see more of your progress! I'd like to know more about how you learned about using 3D models (DAZ 3D & Blender). Is it something you learned at uni or are you self-taught?
    The tarot cards turned out beautifully. I think my favorite is Lucy. I think you managed to capture the look that you were going for perfectly. And the colors are very striking. I'm looking forward to my zine but now also slightly worried I won't be able to open it if it is closed by such a pretty sticker! 😅
    I hadn't heard about Adobe's stance on AI yet, but I'm still using one of their very old software bundles from back in the days when their software wasn't a subscription yet. I find it annoying that they switched to a subscription, so it doesn't surprise me to hear that they are also going in a weird direction with AI... A bit of a shame because their software is very good.
    And this is random, but I guess I shouldn't be surprised at our shared interests at this point, but Dragon Age: Inquisition is on my "games to play" list (already bought it, just trying to decide if I will play the other Dragon Age games first or not). By the way, are you playing the new Dragon Age: Veilguard game?

    • @evydraws-art
      @evydraws-art  2 месяца назад +1

      Hi! :D Thank you, and I hope the zine (incl. the packaging sticker haha) arrive soon!
      I actually first learned some very basic 3D using Cinema4D during uni (I studied scientific visualization) but then kept on dabbling in Blender every once in a while, doing the occasional tutorial like the famous "Donut" one on RUclips, as it's such an amazing tool for architecture and perspective references. So recently, I've been trying to teach myself more, and nowadays, it's so much easier to learn with all the tutorials out there. :)
      Adobe has been doing a variety of weird things, but I also just generally dislike subscription models and forced updates via the creative cloud, and want to slowly make the switch to other programs. It's such a big adjustment, though!
      Oooooh Dragon Age! So, I loved Origins (was even able to play it on my old laptop) for the story and characters... and I think playing Origins at least is really helpful for immersion. DA:2 has a wonderful character cast, but might be less "story relevant" for later games, but it's charming and I love it, too. Inquisition has SO MANY quests but I adore just running around the beautiful environments collecting elfroot. I've heard it's still fun and easy to understand if you haven't played the earlier games, and a lot of people seem to then go back and play those afterwards for the story. :) And I've painted Dragon Age fanart... so yeah, can't wait to play Veilguard, though I haven't had time yet!
      (wow, sorry for the long DA ramble haha)

      @@evydraws-art Thank you for answering in such detail!
      It is fascinating to hear about your 3D software background. I'd never thought about using Blender for art references before. Not sure if I will have the time/patience/energy to get into it from zero, though. 😅
      I love my Photoshop, but it's a bit disheartening that I won't be able to upgrade to a newer version without needing to subscribe. I dislike subsriptions to begin with, and I also don't use Photoshop or my other Adobe programs often enough to justify a monthly subscription at their price point.
      Haha, no worries about the DA ramble. I knew what I would get myself into when I asked. 😉
      I've heard the same about playing just Inquisition or playing all DA games, which is why I'm so undecided on where to start...! I have a bunch of unplayed games in my list, though, so I'm trying to work my way through the shorter titles before tackling the bigger ones like DA. Enjoy Veilguard once you have the time!

    • @evydraws-art
      @evydraws-art  2 месяца назад +1

      @@WingedJedi And I just found this comment, oops!
      My 3D background was kind of useless when switching over to Blender at first, but a lot of programs have some overlap, so I got back into it. I'm mostly limited by currently working on a laptop (just got a new desktop PC! Very excited to do more complex renders again!)
      While I use Photoshop a lot, all the other Adobe programs are at that annoying level of sometimes months of not using them at all, but then having a particular project that absolutely wants Adobe Illustrator files, for example... I'm glad I've phased out a lot of the marketing work that relies on Adobe-only formats, and can now use more and more alternatives, but still, the whole subscription system annoys me deeply.
      Now that the new PC is here, the temptation to play Veilguard is very great! I'm telling myself to focus on drawing and filming more now before it gets too cold and dark, and then play some games in January, warm and cozy haha. What other games are on your list? DA Origins can be played through pretty quickly if that's at all helpful! :D

    • @WingedJedi
      @WingedJedi 2 месяца назад

      @@evydraws-art Congrats on your desktop PC! That does open up some gaming possibilities, but I admire your self-control to wait a bit and crank out some more work beforehand.
      Well, since you asked about my gaming backlog... 😅
      Final Fantasy VII: Remake Integrate (not quite finished yet) + DLC
      Edge of Eternity
      Ni no Kuni II
      Tales of Arise
      Tales of Berseria (started it but haven't gotten far yet)
      Dragon Age: Origins
      Dragon Age: Inquisition
      Persona 5 Royal
      Star Wars: Jedi Survivor
      ...and a couple of others, but these should be the longest titles. Glad to hear Origins wouldn't take too long! Although if I do play that one, then I will absolutely need to get the second Dragon Age game as well... 😂

    Recently I came across the glass dip and ink pen or brush maybe. It was intriguing to look at. I'm wondering how the experience with that is! Evy if you had any experience, would you like to share?

      Oh, I've seen those pens around! I've only ever used regular nib pens for inking (line art in the past, with regular or waterproof ink) but I'd love to give the glass ones a try one day just because they look so beautiful.

    Was macht denn dein plein air painting? Kennst du den Kanal von Sarah Burns Studio? Sie ist eine amerikanische Künstlerin, die nach Schottland ausgewandert ist und sehr viel in der Natur malt mit verschiedensten Medien. Vielleicht sind ihr Channel oder ihr Patreon etwas für dich…

      Danke vielmals! In letzter Zeit kämpfe ich mit meiner Pollenallergie, und hatte etwas Angst, dass mein voice over sehr nasal klingt. 😂
      Und ich liebe Sarah Burns' Videos! Ich hatte erst vor ein paar Tagen ein Video von ihr an während dem Skizzieren. All meine freien Tage in letzter Zeit waren regnerisch, und meine letzte "richtige" plein air Session war in Seoul im Oktober. Ich will sicher nochmal wandern gehen mit dem Skizzenbuch in der Hand. :)
