In 2021 the land was sold below market to Martha's Vineyard Land Conservancy to be open to the public as a naturally conserved site. Caroline Kennedy retained 95 acres at the property, including the homes.

I love the simple elegance. A real house in the country. I’m glad she used the fireplace - it gets very cool in the evening out there. Pink Irish lace sheets, pressed linen nightgowns, what a wonderful meticulous way to live.

What a beautiful place! Glad I'm she had that. Jacqueline Bouvier Kennedy was a courageous person. She also was a brilliant book editor.
Her life was not smooth and had extreme tragedy over , over again Her marriage was difficult & she had a even more tragically difficult births of a few of her children. Alas, she kept on . The killing of her Husband was one of the most horrific experiences any human being could go through .
What a lovely paradise. I hope that it brought her much peace.
I spent my summers on Cape Cod in the 80's and went to MV often. I always wanted to catch a glimpse of Jackie. She was an incredible woman. Thanks for the video. Her home is just what I would want if I could afford it. 😸

read Arch. Digest anymore where the homes are corporate-owned penthouses
stocked with a fuselage for seating, a kitchen as warm as a _Soviet era_ hospital,
and of course a view of the Chrysler building.
Jackie's home here on the beach looks elegant but completely welcoming and

It feels like a true home
I have admired Jacqueline Kennedy since I was a young girl. Her home on the Vineyard is understated, classy, and elegant just as she was. She was such a gift to our country and is still admired and beloved. Thank you for sharing her beautiful home with all of us. Wonderful presentation!
I never could get into Arch Digest as there is never any warmth or feeling of home to those living spaces. Like a cold, uninspiring, no personality showcase model.
Yep. This home is perfect. Simple, comfortable furnishings and lots of rustic and simple decor.
For myself, I could live like this year round, though I’m sure it’s quite cold in the winter❤
Thank you for posting this. I have always loved reading and watching documentaries on the Kennedy’s. Jackie was such an elegant lady.
Even though Jackie was wealthy, the important message of this video is that she kept living after JFK's death, and with dignity, a measure of humiltiy, and simplicity. Those of us that were cognizant of that fateful day in November 1963, have a kindred spirit with Jackie. It warms my heart to see that she did not let that day define her. This video is evidence of that. The epitome of resiliency.
She was not wealthy , until she got the 25 Million from Christina Onassis in 1976! JFK left most of his money in trust for Caroline and John!

That was the only way she could lead a life of luxury and mingle with the powerful and rich. Although cultured and beautiful she used these assets to her advantage. Salary earnings would not provide life style she aspired. No one can have everything. She had to endure Jack's infidelity, maybe Onasis bad temper ugly face. The more one wants, the more one sacrifices!

I have seen this home from a distance. Martha's Vineyard is beautiful! I would go again in a heartbeat for a longer period of time in the future.
No one had a better sense of self. And it shows in this amazing home. I was on MV two weekends after John Jr. was killed. There was a makeshift memorial on the beach where debris from his plane washed ashore. Knowing his Mothers lovely home was nearby was heartbreaking.
I know she was a wonderful mother and wife. She had it all, including heartache.

I love the Windsor chairs and other furniture and items (i.e., linens ) and style indicative of Old New England charm. Most of all, I like the relaxed life she had while on the island. As others have noted, elegant and understated.
I love the land, I wouldn't want that huge house, just a little log cabin, but oh the beach, ponds, land, absolutely gorgeous

All the simplicity and natural light. The entry way and bedroom were my favorite of the house. The personal info of her sheets and night gowns were next. And the private beach are beyond my comprehension. A private pool is my biggest dream.
When Caroline was seated at the table, I began to cry. I felt like I knew her and shared in all her losses of loved ones.
So happy to know it still belongs to her!

I love that Jackie had RedGate Farm simply designed and decorated to give the “lived in” look. I love the carved wood swan in the entry. Very upscale country! I think it must have been her happy place☺️
I especially love the entryway with the terra-cotta wall as a backdrop for the striking wooden swan. It's gracefully original and understated.

She was so elegant , but very simple . Her personal style looks as flawless today as when I was a child . She is the epitome of real wealth whispering. Never over dressed , she looked as elegant in slacks and a tee as she did in evening wear . Iconic woman .

Loved the dining room and the living room with the fireplace. Also the more formal living room with the 3 windows overlooking the ocean.The natural cedar shingles style is so classic for that area. JUSTE BEAUTIFUL !!

Loved this tour of Red Gate on Martha's Vineyard. My favorite part of the home was the Dining Room. You can just imagine the family gatherings. The home is simple and beautiful. Anyone would be happy there.
The lure of the Sea is powerful. Wonderful she make her childhood dream a reality. She was able to enjoy it as well. So nice Caroline owns it now.
Jackie above all wanted peace and quite and a private safe place to live with her children and grandchildren.
I would be happy with a one (big) room, and fireplace in that setting. Reminds me of the coast of Ireland 🇮🇪 ☘❣

I pray Caroline and her family are doing very well. She lost so many family members at such a young age. I picture her very smart, tough and very humble at the same time. Some say, Life is not fair. Life is what we make of it. Life, to me, is the biggest challenge we have to face. God is love. 👍🙏🌹🦜🦋

What a contrast between this home and her NYC apartment. The simplicity of the beach property was refreshing and drew me in as easily as the NYC apartment repelled me. Interesting that both properties belonged to and were decorated by Jackie.
