The food is mouthwatering. The best thing about Mumbai is that, it is a melting pot for many food cultures. Lucky = Bandra. The young 83 yr old owner is such a nice person.
Kunal. Murgh musallam has been one of my mother's signature dishes. Hardly see anywhere now. But lucky enough being raised on such authentic cusines. She is 75 years old now so rarely cooks but everything she cooks still has the same authentic recipe and taste. ❤❤❤
This place is iconic and brilliant to see the young man - he still sounds passionate. Being Bandra born and raised been eating here since ages. Last Wednesday we tried Yaadgaar - this is a small joint on the extreme right hand side of Bandra Station bus depot - try the Ghurda Kapura and Brain Masala with Romali roti- simply outstanding. Happy to host you one evening when you are free.
We hsving been ordering since past 20 yrs,Murg muslam with stuffed keema masala and egg becomes more special to us,we eat with naan or tandoori roti, mouth watering dish, i think Lucknow is famous for this royal cusine.
I immensely enjoyed this episode of yours, I am Aftab Paliwala from Karachi. I have been watching watching your videos for some years but writing you for the first time. Keep producing great content like this. Love from Pakistan ❤
@ I am a Bohra from Karachi,my Parents and grandparents migrated from Udaipur Rajasthan, our ancestors had their business offices in Pali in Rajasthan, that is why our surname is Paliwala,we have millions of Gujarati speaking people in Karachi.
This video took me to a nostalgia trip too. I remember 9 year back me and my brother went to this restaurant. The food was amazing and the aroma of the custard 🍮 was in the whole restaurant at that time. Love watching this from USA, makes me have a eager desire to travel back home and visit this restaurant again. Thank you kunal and team for creating this kind of content. ( I am a foodie too just like kunal. so I had to put in an effort to write a good comment to appreciate the work)
Kunalji, sincere thanks for this upload. Off course,I loved the menu. But, a discussion with this Babaji who has been with Lucky for his entire life is outstanding. My sincere Namaskar to this Babaji. This reminded me The old man of The Britannia of the Ballard . These people are the one who actually invested and the generations are enjoying the interest. Hats off to these lovely citizens of our Mumbai. My sincere Namaskar once again.
Loved this episode Kunal...I have personally been eating at Lucky for almost 3 decades now..as much as the food it is also the warm hospitality of the owners and the staff that keeps us coming back ...
"cooking of biryani is an art" - what an emotion behind those words! wonder how the first plates of biryani back in those days tasted versus the one being prepared now. beautiful episode that was more than just food.
In lucky restaurant ur tasteing many items...iam watching dis video from Bengaluru......I had in lucky restaurant on 2015... since then iam not come to Mumbai.... after watching your video now plan to visit Mumbai.... only this purpose...iam very FOODIE....
Nice episode but tooo many dishes on a tiny table and that makes it very difficult to give justice to all dishes in 20 minutes , Lucky Restaurant is no doubt a gem of a eatery
Had Murg Musallam for the first time few years back at a local restaurant in Mumbai and since then it is my go to main course whenever we go to that place.
I believe that over the years, Mughlai food has unfortunately become filled with artificial food colors, which is not at all desirable. I personally love eating murg mussallam, but I am often disappointed by the excessive use of colors in the dish. I am certain that the royal palaces of the Mughals did not add such colors to their food.
Bravo Kunal - presenting food from places unknown to us in your unique adaa aur andaaz you and your team have made an art form. The cinematography, editing, and overall composition of your videos make you an auteur of foodie videos! 😁😄😆😃 Kunal Vijaykar Zindabad ❤
Dear Kunal it's a pleasure seeing you eat. You get immersed in the flavour & taste of the food & seeing you eat is just next to eating it myself...keep up the good work!❤
Wow Being a Professional Chef I really enjoyed this Food Tour!Congratulation 💐Great Restauranteur,Very Interesting to watch this video👌👍🔥❤️🔥👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏🙏🙏
You can show us jarda, sheer kurma ,manglorian bun there are so many receipes which u can teach us,waiting for that, also ek vlog sajid sir ke sath bhi ho haye😍😍😍😍
12:31 Lucky's owner says, "you will remember that once upon a time there was no English chicken" (in India, presumably). Then both of them said something that sounds like "gowdy". Anyone know what they said, and what it means? 15:26 Lucky's owner says that the word biryani comes from a Persian / Arabic word for "fried", and it sounds like he's saying "biyan". I looked up Google Translate, but couldn't find the word there. Anyone know the word?
After watching you eat i went out and got a Biryani for the family. If possible can you invite a chef o your show and make Murh Musallam from start to finish
We had a Lucky restaurant in Pune also Very old sadly not now Dev anand, guru dutt used to be regulars at lucky restaurant in 1944 -45 When they were in Prabhat studios

Kunal, I have always loved your show. I live in Sacramento, CA. You should do a trip to California and we can go and try some of the famous places in Bay Area,
Earlier there use to be very limited places in Mumbai who use to sell quality Mutton Biryani. There was a very common slang "Biryani bole toh apna Lucky Biryani". But these days there has been a little bit of compromise with the overall quality of the food in Lucky Restaurant. But it's still a good place to enjoy Muglai food with friends and family 👍
Kunal, kindly visit Tanveer restaurant in Mominpura, Nagpur for their Murg Mussalam !! It does have food coloring, but the taste is out of the world 👍🏼
Lucky Restaurant is an emotion. People who are from Santacruz to Mahim can understand this.

Very authentic mughlai cuisine. Very rich but too heavy to digest. You have to eat with lot of patience and deep concentration.

True.
More in chileyea hotels
You are correct, absolutely.
Color spoils taste and texture of the dish
True..
From the beginning they have focused on colours and using tallow for cooking food it’s just recently people have become more conscious
