    ABOUT DR JUSTIN SUNG
Justin is an ex-medical doctor turned full-time learning coach. He's passionate about taking a very practical and evidence-based approach to learning and self-management. Unlike most study influencers, he has extensive experience actually working with real people, rather than just looking at theory or anecdotal tips to make videos about. He's worked with thousands of people around the world for over 10 years, teaching them to manage their studies and time more efficiently using novel and rigorously field-tested techniques. Justin is the co-founder of iCanStudy, which developed the world's first fully integrated, high-efficiency learning system using cognitive retraining approaches.

You have a lot of good points but you need examples.

Exactly! Like, he's BEEN going on about "finding relationships" video after video, but the amount of time he spends actually showing ou practical examples?
Like, I keep watching his videos because I'm still trying to uderstand what exactly he's saying. & also, at this point, I think he's just run out of things to say, but wants to keep the channel going.
I see this happen a lot with other educational youtubers as well. It's like a sitcom that goes on for too long, eventually you run out of new things to do with the characters.

Yea... His full RUclips videos are similar. Most productivity/learning presentations are similar. Introduce desire how to fix issue without saying exactly how.
But the most realistic answer are obvious to us all and probably just require is to consistently put our mind at task. But these simple answers aren't sexy when presented...

Basically, just because you have memorized, the textbook doesn’t mean that you understand the concept in a way that you can actually use in real life. You don’t understand it through and through, you just memorized it mechanically from a textbook. You wouldn’t be able to answer the questions with a true understanding, just regurgitating words. The best way to learn is with a thorough understanding, so that the material becomes effortless to you and you don’t have to keep referencing the book to remember what it said.

The challenge with the premise of this discussion is that somebody who memorizes a body of information does not process it and does not have command of it… Not sell. It depends on the person… Do you have eidetic memory, and review a lot of literature, but don’t think about it it does not increase your ability to work smart… However if you take the time to review the information to internalize it and to organize it in a manner that lens itself to real world utilization then you were a genius

How do you cope in a university where you are studying chemical engineering and doing a semester in two months with poor teaching and bulky topics.
Justin I would like to know how do you learn as a university student in the shortest time possible and perform very well.

Someone who memirusds a textbook cover to cover has a spectacular memory if not a useful one depends if straight facts are useful or you want to use the facts to manipulate info. I.e, depends how you will use it might be good for some types of multiple choice exams!

Best way to use a textbook is to know it in and out and be able to reference it accordingly. That ability comes from reading it lol.

    Hi justin sung
So for taking notes there was one video where you said take notes that represent what is in your mind. I'll give you an example in which I am reading textbooks and I want to take notes after reading one paragraph (For example). How do I reword the information in which it can be represented like the way it is from my head? And how can I put that in my notes?

Im starting to think this is a bit of cart before the horse. It seems like you want people to attain deep knowledge before they have attained the knowledge itself. There is I don't think any shortcut to deep knowledge. However there are more effective ways of getting knowledge in which is where good teaching is essential.

How does using a zettelkasten system to visualize related information compare to mindmaps when it comes to the level of encoding? Since you when making mindmaps have to think alot more about how you structure it.
