The locals pronounce it Cape SAY-bull. Brother ya'll must be burning the diesel! Enjoy your postings. You're exceptionally good at keeping viewers oriented as to your location and progress. Fair winds and following seas! Capt. Klaas
@@cruisingandromedawould be nice to know what damage was done to the boat, and how much it cost to fix if you’re comfortable saying. Being out for 100 days was wild to learn in the last video after you have been back for a couple videos since relaunching. ,
I sure hope you try to do 2nd loop. Wife and I did Keys for 25th anniversary. So much to see and we didn't do it all. Sea turtle hospital, Christ of the Abyss in John Pennekamp state park, Dry Tortuga's, a day in Key West (More than enough for old farts like my wife and I, but the Butterfly museum and Hemingway house worth it) and more. Sucks on repairs that had to be made and I guess you can do all that without going by your boat.
Congrats on this milestone; you're within striking distance of your Bahama's goal. Always, always hated having to back in to a slip with our sailboat. Looking forward to your Gulf Stream crossing report and your first Bahamian port of call.
Aww, You guys are great! Watched your videos over the last week or 2. And have really enjoyed them! Sorry for the troubles in orange Beach. Thinking about going sailing again after watching you guys!
You 2 and Ollie are very tuff you are doing a great job navigating... don't let them c-pots get the best of you, hell someone done left their railroad bridge in the river out in front of you. Or maybe it was a lost submarine. I am so glad you folks are on the mend!!! Dannooo out.
That was one long (and tight!) approach to your slip in Key Largo …good thing you didn’t have to turn around in that narrow channel with boats on both sides. No maneuvering room. Ugh. BTW, has Ollie gotten camera shy or something? Or maybe he now has his Actors Equity card and you have to compensate him for on-air time …??? 😂😂😂
Kari it really was a bit nerve wracking!! Thankfully all the charter / dive boats were already out when we came through! It would have been so much harder with all the charter traffic! Ya, Ollie wasn't having it lol. Can't wait to meet you guys this summer! :)
Hey there R & K. See on your Facebook page that you're back home. Congrats on a successful journey. Have watched most of your vids. Just curious...How did you accomodate Ollie on the long days on the water? My wife and I have a 1988 43' Wellcraft Portofino with the intent to spend nights on Old Hickory Lake (near Nashville). Just haven't figured out what to do with the dog. Puppy pads maybe? Cheers.
Thank you so much Doug! We tried the pee pad route, but Ollie never would use it. I think on the worst of days, (Long runs) I walked him after he ate breakfast, and then immediately once we docked or anchored after I fed him dinner. We could usually get him out again, but a few times he did wait. But then I took him right out the next morning. If we left him on the boat to go to dinner, or groceries...we made sure air was on, closed the curtain and we found those rubber peanut butter lick things that kept him distracted. The one thing he HATED was if we left on the dinghy. ( He LOVED the dinghy rides) :)
@@cruisingandromeda Thanks for the reply. I talked to the owner of the boat across from ours at the marina and she said if I had another dog use the pee pad first, then my dog would use it. Just like marking a fire hydrant, right? We'll see. I am curious, what were your careers that allowed you to do what you've done? I didn't hear anything about that in your early posts.
That is a great idea for another dog to pee on it! Ollie has to stop and pee EVERYTIME he smells another dog! Bob is a custom Home Builder, and I owned a Child Care Center for 25 years, but had to close it after Covid due to lack of quality staffing. (everyone needed help) Bob is working remotely from the boat for this trip. Thank you :)
Great question!! I don't know, but they were definitely out March thru April. From what I can tell, but may be wrong...it looks like October thru May???
I don't understand why the crab pot bouys are not " fluoro " coloured for visibility sake...... great travelling along with you from my arm chair, a great couple. 💙🍻🍻🍻🦘🦘
Thank you Mark! We agree!!! Maybe a universal color? some of the white ones get dingy and discolored and look like birds! Thank you so much for joining us! :)

Why are you guys in such a rush, you missed all the beauty of the keys?
Is there a season for crab pots??
Great question!! I don't know, but they were definitely out March thru April. From what I can tell, but may be wrong...it looks like October thru May???
When you hit the Bahamas are you sure you’re going to be able to get it out of warp gear before you crash through like the kool-Aid man?
HAHAHAHA I love it! :)
Who do you use for a wave report? Thanks
We use Predict Wind, Windy, and NOA primarily. Thanks for joining us :)
It’s pronounced Cape Say Bill
Thank you for that! We appreciate you watching :)
If you're
Going come down South, you Yankees Need to learn how to pronounce where you're going.
We really do try! There are some tough ones though lol. Thank you for watching :)
