Think about how it feels to not be English but have a British accent, I'm Norwegian and befriended a girl from England before she knew Norwegian and thus spoke only English with her for a while and I picked up the accent after a week. Every time I go anywhere people ask "where in England are you from? How long did you live in England? Which one of your parents is the English one?" and I have no be like "ehhhh.... no?" and then I usually just say I'm good with accents and demonstrate my wide range of them- which leads to te question "then why did you pick a British accent? Is it to seem smarter?" and I didn't pick it. Its just where my voice naturally goes and has gone for years
