I highly recommend listening to some of their music if you haven't before. The best starting point is their song "Epic", or "Midlife Crisis" as both do a good job of showing off his vocal range.
For whatever reason, every time I see him say “Samantha” and you realize it’s a girl, it just hits so hard. I lost my best boy back in September and this is even harder to watch now. I really enjoyed the alternate ending where he gives her back, it felt like a refreshing twist on the zombie idea where they still have humanity left in there somewhere.
It's the original ending and makes the whole movie. It puts a mirror up to the protagonists face to show him in this new world he's the monster that takes children in the night. He is the legend.
@@Ferrant621 That ending would change the plot, and make the title make sense. 'I am Legend' because he's actually the monster kidnapping people and taking them back to his lair to murder them.
He IS legend. His performance makes this film such an unbelievable experience as he captures every emotion, interaction, and scene completely. You mentioned Wilson and Hanks' interaction from Cast away, and just the few that we get between Smith, Fred (OMG the scene with the trap 🏆), Marge, Hank, and the one with black hair he spoke with after Samantha's passing were OSCAR performances that really Challenge Tom Hanks' talent. I've always loved Will Smith since Fresh Prince, and this is definitely among his TOP roles ever.
There’s an alternate ending where he doesn’t die. Y’all should check it out. It’s pretty good. This ending is definitely more climactic and entertaining, but it’s nice to see him not die in a separate ending. Love yall❤ #justtrustash #donttrusthannah

I wondered about curing the dog too, Hannah, but he didn't know the serum worked yet, so his only other choice would have been to keep Sam in a cage as a zombie dog.
Heyo, I know the movie doesn't follow the book very well but a lot of the themes stay the same. In the book they state that those who 'turn' after they have died were never curable or controllable. Those that turned while alive could be civilised. In Sam's scene we can't really tell if she dies before she turns or not, but likely did due to her injuries. Hope that makes anyone wondering 'why didn't he try' feel better, woulda been hopeless.
They didn’t move the mannequins 😂! He did! He was going crazy & paranoid & didn’t realise he did it! & they didn’t set the traps! He did for them but got caught in his own traps!! I thought the same until I looked it up xx
I was in an online relationship back then and when we finally got to meet in person, we went and saw this movie when it was released. It was the best weekend of my life. We were engaged to be married. Jenny died in 2019. Also, deer are very fast, so they don't have super speed in the film. Very used to deer as they hang out in my backyard almost every night. Last week I counted about 20 deer in my backyard and my neighbor's backyard. They know me so they don't get skittish, even if I'm 5' away. I say "hi" and go back inside the house.
The KFC man is a Kentucky Colonel. It's an honorific bestowed by the governor of Kentucky. Other famous Kentucky Colonels include Johnny Depp (born in Owensboro, KY) and Hunter S. Thompson (Raoul Duke from Fear and Loathing, born in Louisville).
Zombies aren't affected by the sunlight they roam regardless of day/night. They're actually vampires lol they burn when they're in the sun and you can only see/hear them at night. Plus UV light doesn't affect zombies so another hint that they're vampires. Neville even says to Anna to wait until the sun comes out to go back to his house. They drop multiple hints throughout, like Neville using the dark blanket to cover the female he caught, that was so she wouldn't burn. The book is fantastic!
Such a good movie, I also really appreciate that the vampires (they're meant to be vampires; more intelligent and social than zombies) don't attack him until he attacks them. It makes it seem like will smith is the antagonist terrorizing this group of people, stealing them away during the day, and essentially being the boogieman. Also the alternate ending is by far my favourite, I really reccomend watching it
The real ending if you guys have the full edition. He gives the zombie wife back to the bad zombie guy instead of blowing himself up and he goes to the colony with the women and the kid. That was the real ending of the movie. Will smith leaked the ending before it went to theaters so they made this back up ending where he dies. The real ending where he lives is way better. Also the trailers for the movie showed the version where he lived cause the zombie was standing face to face yelling at him, but will smith picked up the female zombie and gave it back to them and they left.
lived in upstate NY. my son and i took a bus down to NYC for the day. we were just walking around and accidentally walked onto the set of this film. most of the crew was on lunch and it was the day they were filming the mustang driving onto the sidewalk bit. we ended up talking to a couple crew guys.
Will smith is one of the greatest actors ever. I think people sometimes forget about the incredible performances he’s pulled off. Just him and his dog for most of the movie and at no point was it lacking in emotion in impact in showing how terrifying the situation was, the loneliness, everything.
Ehh greatest actors ever? Nah. Is he a great actor? Sure. Do I like him? Yes. Greatest actors ever is a very small elite group and for me he just hasn’t done enough diverse roles. And no matter what I will aLways see will smith while truly elite actors can fool me into thinking they’re a real, new, completely different person.
There's gonna be a part 2 of this movie because there's an alternate ending where Will did threw the gernade and hide inside that small room with the women and her son

I highly recommend listening to some of their music if you haven't before. The best starting point is their song "Epic", or "Midlife Crisis" as both do a good job of showing off his vocal range.
31:21 Hannah getting pissed off is actually one of the funniest things of the reactions 🤣
With how will smith completely amazed me in this movie , still amazes me more that so many people I know haven’t even seen this movie .
Hannah blink 3 times if you’re in danger 😂😂 ash is a menace.
The alternate ending is the BEST
For whatever reason, every time I see him say “Samantha” and you realize it’s a girl, it just hits so hard. I lost my best boy back in September and this is even harder to watch now. Such a good movie though and a great reaction. I’m with Ash. If my dog would’ve died saving me, I would’ve turned into Jigsaw, too
when sam died.. man did it KILL me.. my baby girl of a dog is getting to that age where i now any yr, her time with me will end.. My eyes just start to hurt, dogs are gods loyal angels from above.. always protective towards our family, always making sure we are safe, unconditional love
He is the legend.
the alternate ending is closer to what the book is about.
Wich in my opinion is way better than the movie
I can’t see that ending working out. It ruins the movie retroactively because the plot only makes sense if the infected are hostile rage monsters.
@@Ferrant621You didn’t realize all the other scenes that demonstrated they are sentient and not in fact feral?
Having had a dog named Sam who passed away, that final scene with Sam had me bawling.
You guys should’ve watched it with the alternative ending much more inline with the message of the book
"It's like seeing Jesus on a toast." I spat my drink all over my monitor. My gawd you have a way with words! roflmao 😂
This is one of Will Smith’s best damn roles hands down 🤘🏽
There’s an alternate ending where he doesn’t die. Y’all should check it out. It’s pretty good. This ending is definitely more climactic and entertaining, but it’s nice to see him not die in a separate ending. Love yall❤ #justtrustash #donttrusthannah
The alternative ending is now the cannon ending since the second one was announced.
It was a brave choice in the editing room, but the right one to let him die. Cash grab sequels aside, it made for a better film.
There is an alternate ending where he gave the woman back to the zombies and everyone lived.
“Pursuit of Happiness” in my opinion is Will Smiths greatest performance. Such a emotional performance that you should definitely check out!
No doubt one of my fav movies! It’s a great one for sure! Keep up the amazing work! I can’t wait to see more to come. Always looking forward to your amazing reactions guys!
Cheers you legend 👊🏽❤️
I say "hi" and go back inside the house.
damn bro :(
29:42 He never wanted to survive in that scene. He was essentially committing suicide.
There's always one line.
This time it was "I'd start with the babies" for me.
Love you guys.
Killing the ancestors is WILD!!😂
@@mrdavman13 yes imo one of the greatest ever.
There's gonna be a part 2 of this movie because there's an alternate ending where Will did threw the gernade and hide inside that small room with the women and her son
"stay in the lord's light....."
you know i really appreciate the reaction content on youtube whether its movies or anime or what ever ... cause sometimes I feel lonely watching them alone .. but with a reaction it feels like I am watching with them so I stop feeling lonely
I can't wait for the sequel coming out next year. Fun fact: they went with the alternative ending that's on the DVD where he lives so he's alive in the next one
Can't tell you how many times I've seen this movie. It never gets old. It's so sooooo good !
And Sam's death hits hard every time.
So glad you guys got the react to this
You guys are honestly my favorite reaction channel ❤️
This is my first time watching you two I’ve been dying laughing almost the whole video bro Ash is hilarious 😂 Hannah definitely brings out the real emotional aspect of it all very in depth with the film you two are GOLD 🏆
In the original ending before they changed it to this, He gives the girl back to the guy and he lives, I think that left it open for the sequel originally
The two of you singing MJ in the beginning is too sweet. Wish I could subscribe twice. Great reaction.
Cheers you legend ❤️
Oh my god why! I saw this in the movie theater when it came out. And when Samantha scene came out and when he is talking to the mannequin " please say hello to me" everyone lost it
SOOO glad I found your channel. “But the KFC man is colonel” has me rolling 🤣🤣🤣🤣
Btw need to share this. This movie is based on a book. In the book, its in the perspective of the "monsters" talking about a legend who is able to move around when the sun is out. That someone was Robert. Hence the title, I Am Legend.
The maniquien scene is scary. The alpha dark seeker put him there for will to trap himself. Him realising it was so good
Suggesting same movie from 1971 called THE OMEGA MAN with Charlton Heston.
I watched your Sicario, Seven & I Am Legend reactions tonight & enjoyed them all. You 2 are an amazing couple & all 3 movies are amazing too. The emotional roller-coaster you go through doing this is very entertaining. Great movies with a lot to like. Ash can't sit still, he has to get involved & Hannah is like a cat on a trampoline in a noisy factory jumping at every sound. Fun to watch, I shall continue to do so.
Great review and reactions. Ty for reviewing.
