I love how maturely they handled this scene. There’s nothing overtly sexual or ecchi, and it lets the audience focus on the relationship and the love between the characters. The only indication that there was any “action” is a couple of bared shoulders, which is really neat.

Edit: I just read the webcomic and Miyamura and Hori did it while Hori's dad and Sengoku's dad were arguing and Hori's mom was there so they probably didn't hear Miyamura and Hori and Miyamura bit Hori at the top of her rib cage and they slept together in the same bed as it was a Saturday and Miyamura said to Shindou he came inside and Shindou kicked his head saying is he an idiot and Miyamura says that he follows all of her orders which Shindou asks if Hori told him to come inside

As long as I can remember there is this certain novel that talks about this scene. It is said that Miyamura is like a dog, he follows the order of his owner. In a sexual manner Hori said to do it inside and Miyamura did. Shindo got upset and the rest is history.

Shindo is the one who said "is your girlfriend a dog?"
(It's skipped in the manga but) Miyamura said "I might be a dog" because he obeyed Hori's order as a dog. Also, the chapter title is "犬みたい/as a dog" in the original.

The fact that the anime with zero to no fanservice (upskirt, oppai shots, unnecessary nudity) has a love making scene where'as most ecchi animes don't even touch the subject is insane.
i love this anime because of how close to the reality it is. both hori and miyamura are relatable characters in terms of personality and their relationship is really like a normal teenagers relationship. teenagers do have sex at some point and i'm glad it's finally shown because it's also part of the relationship. it was such a pretty scene

Horimiya gave me the kind of happiness and satisfaction like no other anime I've watched in the past. while I'm a tiny bit disappointed that we didn't get to see kiss scenes for more than once, the story feels real and the characters feels natural. the relationship between two mc's felt genuine, it's as if it's based on real life highschool love stories. no nudity, no crazy plot twist, no swearing. it's just teenagers doing nomal things while discovering love. thus makes the binging the more enjoyable
the new series (missing pieces) should have one or two more kissing scenes, plus the manga portrayed the relationship so much better imo

This anime represents a real-life relationship so well. HoriMiya is top-tier.
This reminded me of the kissing scene from Toradora!. Very tastefully done. This anime is my personal #1 romantic series. The way both characters were written was just so realistic. The progression in their relationship and the way they grew closer to each other as time went on was very natural. Both of them were respectful to one another and acted like adults. A very nice and refreshing change from all of those ridiculous tropes out there with women behaving like spoiled, ungrateful, useless children constantly abusing and assaulting the guy who has to do literally everything. Every relationship should go both ways and this anime perfectly captured that.

After Hori's mom knew about that stuff, they move on a another place. Hori changed her personality from weak to being dominant so that thing can't happen again. I think the scene right after the "Did it" scene was great also... Next morning Miyamura just has a conversation with Hori's little brother and he is like: "Don't take my sister away from me" and Miyamura comfirts him replying: "I won't take your sister away from you... but can I have Hori?" All while she was listening at the door... man is so smooth, it is unbelievable.

The anime has confirmed it. For more than 6 years, I thought I had a weird fever dream after falling asleep reading this before cuz nobody was talking about it lol. I love how it wasn't portrayed as a "steamy service" but as sweet and intimate. They're one of the best couples, hands down.

I remember reading this manga waaaay back and a lot of people were so displeased with how they did it since “it doesn’t fit the genre” but I just couldn’t agree with them because i think this scene was so beautiful. It’s so true to life and intimate that even as young as i was back then I was amazed with the maturity and composure of the way this scene was delivered. It just felt so raw and how sex is supposed to be in irl, normal.

You are supposed... and actually expected to watch the episode properly, so you wouldn't miss it. Instead, most are being just "fuckers" (as some would say) who don't have less than 25 free minutes to spend and enjoy something properly. :D

Horimiya is one the best slice of life anime I've watched and there is a valid reason to it. Unlike other anime this one is very realistic and has some really good character development. Not only the MC but every character in the anime was very nicely portrayed. It's a very precise representation of teenage life as well and being a teenager i find it really relatable as well. Sometimes you really need anime like these to take a brake from your daily life and think about yourself. Great anime.
The kind of show that this is is the kind or romance I like. It goes places, it’s about an intimate romance rather then a cock tease where they barely reach first base. The comedy isn’t super out there and crazy, which I find funnier.

The reason why Hori doesn't want Miyamura to look at her School Book was because of her past. Hori has a boyfriend back then and after he bang Hori, he left her. Hori was in depression after that and the other guys from the school started to get close to her and they can bang Hori whenever and wherever they want and Hori's emotions vanish like she doesn't care about anything and letting bunch of guys bang her. After Hori's mom knew about that stuff, they move on a another place. Hori changed her personality from weak to being dominant so that thing can't happen again. It aldo explained that Hori's mom purposely coming home late for Hori to focus her attention to her sibling.

Should have been a 24 episode run. I feel like this show with such a popular manga deserved it. They left out too many things and didn't give certain moments time to breathe. The show was really great, don't get me wrong. It just could have been much better with a 24 episode run that let things happen with a slightly slower pacing.

Ive read horimiya as a manga countless times and it finally getting an anime makes me feel so happy for one of my favorite romance animes to get its recognition across the mainstream that it rightfully deserves
