God showed us His mercy by not giving us what we deserve. His grace by giving us what we dont deserve. Only through shed blood of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ
Question but first see history of 'pledge of allegiance' at Wikipedia or wherever. 1954 version is when added "one nation under God" so why and who advocated for this change? Was there ever a time when 'God' said in the Bible anything about a nation other than Israel as being of His concern specifically? Maybe, Assyria under Cyrus is possible but temporary. See 1Cor. 11:29 "....not discerning the body....." and at 1Cor. 12:27 "Now you are the body.....". The " you" spoken of likely indicates that "the body" is all believers in whatever country they reside. There was an ad where Billy Graham 'equates/conflates' the 'American dream' with the 'gospel' but this likely is not a proper comparison. The 'gospel' focuses on the 'kingdom of heaven' while the 'American dream' is 'worldly' focused or likely 'worldly' focused as people look to America to help 'free' them from 'tyranny/oppression' much like the NT seems to indicate many followers of Jesus thought of him in their time. Some exceptions may have been the three women who anointed Jesus at Bethany. See Mt. 26, Lk. 7 and Jn. 12
Of course I agree with you. There is something about the insight and depth of his preaching that comforts and transforms. He would have wanted all glory to go to his Lord!
Oh my i saw myself through this whole sermon. May God forgive me and all of us backsliding Christians.we must be merciful as Jesus Christ, our Lord
