I love the close up details and explanations you give us of the mixer and its inside. And the details of how much feed you mix daily and the cows individual consumption. Then your fantastic aerial footage. This might be one of the most interesting videos you've done yet Andy.
Just watched the video of your son disking. Everyone complimented him rightfully so but you the parent deserve a huge compliment. Your doing a fine job!
Awesome video as always, Andy. You've done a full days work before a lot of people wake up. Won't hear me complain about what a gallon of milk cost. Just wish that cost would mostly go in to your pocket. It's well deserved!
I am amazed at how much labor and equipment it takes for you to raise your heard. Crop farmers like Mn millennial farmer or the Welkers probably don’t have to put in half as much work as your family does and they don’t need nearly as much machinery. You have my respect for doing what you do to feed the world in this depressed economic times for agriculture.
lol and just think. The cows have all that equipment built right into them and then we decide to put them in a barn and not utilize any of it for the intended purposes. 😂. They grind and harvest their food , they spread their manure and help germinate native plants and we think we can do it better than them.
Coming from a farming / dairy family I understand the amount of work that goes into keeping the cows happy. Last of the dairy farm in either side was 52 cows on 300 acres. Also did beef, small swine operation and grain on some rented land. Putting up hay in summer I will never forget up in the barn kicked my ass. Enjoy watching your channel and a small glimpse to running a dairy of that scale.
Really enjoyed the video andy from the looks of the farm you and your family and workers take great pride in your animals and barns and equipment your whole farm looks amazing you should be very proud a lot of comment and hard work and it shows
Crap man at 3 in 5he morning the last thing I would want to do is stick a camera in my face!!! I love the feeding videos!! This may be one of the top in my book. Awesome!!! Nice set up there Andy a show place!!👍👍👍
Thanks for the videos, You have quite an operation there. I'm from west of Rochester, in Monroe county, close to the lake. Not many dairy farms here anymore. Couple good sized ones further west in Niagara county. Thanks again Andy.
Ed Hourigan yes I remember those days running around with himoisture corn and grain. Then later on dumping the tar into feed carts to feed to the tie stall barn.
Nice clean set up. And it shows in the cattle. Thank you. I appreciate people who take pride in their farm and cattle. Good video really enjoyed that thank you.
I see you haven't scratched or dented the mixer yet if it was me I would of done it the first day then pissed and moaned about it for two month LOL. It amazing how many loads you do everyday. Thanks for bringing us along!!!
Very interesting to see how it's done on a large scale such as this. You must be happy not to have to feed on Thursdays and Sundays. These are early starting days brother. I felt a little uneasy when you stepped into the mixer wagon. All the best, Thank you, cheers
I have a pair of Supreme 1600T’s mounted on Oshkosh F2346 6x6 Truck’s. Great combination, especially for our Michigan winters but they’re not near as nimble as the pull-types.
Yo Andy!!!! Greetings from South Coast Ireland!! Brilliant vid as always!!! Many thanks for the insight you gave on just what it takes to feed and maintain such a Mega Herd as you do!! Some people just don't appreciate the work and constant effort it takes to put milk in a bottle for the Corn flakes etc in the breakfast!! The idea of feeding starting from 3am to some might be madness but the amount of time in loading...feeding such numbers is not what some would consider ever doing or even imagine!! 24/7 means 24/7 ehh!!! Take care y'all and thanks for sharing....ps heifers looking good!!!
I fed cows on a 1000 head milking dairy for 6 years so this video hits home. I tried a couple vertical mixers and really didnt like how they mixed seemed to have a better quality of mix and a faster unload time with a reel mixer. You need to slap a mixer on one of those old universal well trucks you like so much and you'll never step foot in a tractor pulled mixer again
Hey Andy hows it going today thanks for another great video. I was just watching one of your older videos of when you started truck #2 back in January. And was wondering if you ended up selling it or parted it out. I wouldn't mind having the engine and the box for one of our trucks. Stay safe out there my friend.
Slowly catching up with your videos. Keep seeing people ask for a parlour video 😂 have you done one already I can look out for? Hell of a operation you run! Brilliant video! 💪🏴
Have you ever consider building a feed truck when you upgrade tmrs next? Large dairy I used to work at had two, one a supreme and the other a rotomix. Supreme hands down is my favorite mixer. I was there mechanic and the rotomix was a far less superior mixer.
@@FarmingFixingFabricating how big of a tanker load do you guys get the only reason I ask is I drive milk truck for DFA in northeastern Colorado and we have quad trucks and we are pickup up 8000 gallons to 8500 gallons per dairy I just find it interesting how diffrent parts of the country haul the milk
With peta and all these activist running around trying to get us shutdown it's not worth it they can cut up a video alter it and you 'll be standing there trying to fight some group that set you up that is why Andy shows farming fixing fabricating and sometimes feeding but as a beef producer I think the big dairy operations are fascinating with that many milk cows twice a day 365
Hey Andy when that new barn is completed how many more loads of feed will you have to mix .. you said you do 13 now ? amazing and thank you for sharing its cool to see the behind the scenes stuff to a gallon of milk lol
I am a new subscriber and have many questions, so I'll just throw a few to you. What part of New York state are you located in? What is the size of your dairy herd? I am very impressed on how well your cows look in appearance. You stated your mixers are 900 and 1200, is that the capacity rating, i.e. bushels or what? How do you measure the amount of supplements (minerals) you are mixing with the hay? To say the least, I am very impressed with your dairy farm operation! I have only viewed a half dozen or so of your videos and found them interesting, entertaining and informative. I have not lived on a farm for over fifty years but still find this way of life to make a living and raise a family no matter what the size of the operation is to be rewarding. Thanks!
Dan Kinnard the model numbers don’t mean anything, there is a scale on each mixer. We are in central New York we milk just over 1600 cows and farm 4K acres.
I dont know if you heard on the news but in manitoba Canada were i live there was a bug fire at a diary farm and 800 cows were lost in the fire. Big los to our dairy supply in Canada. 4 big barns burnt to the ground
Great video! I have changed knives in a Faresin twin auger mixer and it isn't a nice job. The interior walls, floor and mixing augers get really slippery and the the knives wear down very thin and sharp. The new knives were large and sharp and again needed careful handling.
Kinda makes a person zone out watching the feed mix. 👀 I liked all of the different views today. The milk cows sure come to get the feed and the dry cows don't move except 1, cows can be strange critters at times. It was interesting to see the farm flyovers. How many tankers do you send out in day, and can you hold a days worth of milk in the silo? Thank you for taking the time to record and edit todays video.
I am sure you have said this before, but how many cows do you have, how many do you milk every day and how much feed do you put out each day? Thanks for the videos!
You really are Hooligans but the operation and barnyard sure looks nice! 💯 Another year or two your house will be in a barn, that saves alot on heating tho 😄
I use to milk an ole Jersey the old fashion way, now the milking machines, nice group of Holsteins, in my area the Ayrshires are dominant. Who takes care of the bucket calves.
I don't know if I ever payed attention to the immense size of your farm. You need a small town just to keep it going, it looks like with all the equipment.
I love the close up details and explanations you give us of the mixer and its inside. And the details of how much feed you mix daily and the cows individual consumption. Then your fantastic aerial footage. This might be one of the most interesting videos you've done yet Andy.

These vids will be a real treasure for your family in the future, documenting farm life for the future generations.
I can't imagine all the logistics of this operation. The scale of it is impressive.

Brilliant video showing all the work involved in keeping dairy cattle
Would love to see the milking parlor and how that part of your operation works
Great set up ..Your Cows allways look great clean and healthy ..Top job..👍👍
Love all the different angles, it’s cool to see how the wagon emptied out via the screws:) You have an awful nice looking heard
Nice video. The end really gives a good feel for the size of your yard and the layout of things.
Coming from a farming / dairy family I understand the amount of work that goes into keeping the cows happy. Last of the dairy farm in either side was 52 cows on 300 acres. Beautiful cows 🐄 and farm! Your hard work shows! Thanks for the awesome drone footage!

Thanks for sharing Andy takes a lot of feed for all them cows. Awesome video 🌽🌽🚜🚜👍👍🇺🇸
That’s some set up Andy, the cows are looking great as always 👍
Great video Andy I'd really love to see your milking set up sometime. God bless
Great cow barns and facilities, introduce your herdsman sometimes
Your cows look happy.
Andy great video thanks for the sweet tour of the cows

Wow! You really have a beautiful farm, Andy. Great video, especially like the drone views. Commentary is great as usual, too.
Nice paint scheme on da mixer real kool enjoy your videos
Thank you, the comments mean a lot.
Beautiful farm andy thanks for sharing.
I watched the re- lining of the " cow " .
You have a great farm there farmer.
Thx for the video.
An amazing operation you have going each day! Thanks for doing it
Very awesome video Andy thanks so much for sharing.
Impressive operation. Cows look good
10th Generation Dairyman thanks Eric,if you ever travel to NY state stop in.
@@FarmingFixingFabricating hopefully I can make that happen sometime, thanks!
Another great video. That's a long way from pushing a cart around the old barn and forking by hand silage to each stanchion!

I like the Holstein paint job on the TMR mixer, that's great! Those early hours make me glad I wasn't born on a dairy farm.
Thanks for the comment Chris
Beautiful overview of the farm's structures.
Nice looking group of cows
Big thanks for the video. So much interesting stuff to watch. I can see why you need so much silage. Impressive!
Can you do a dairy parlor tour
Very impressive operation ! That recently rebuilt mixer does a great job mixing seems better than the other one.
One of the coolest videos to date!
Love the drone footage beautiful farm
Love the cow-painted mixing wagon -
Great video, you sir have a lot on your plate to keep track of.
Maybe you can show us the office and the “front end” of the dairy. That would be neat!
I see you haven't scratched or dented the mixer yet if it was me I would of done it the first day then pissed and moaned about it for two month LOL. It amazing how many loads you do everyday. Thanks for bringing us along!!!
Yeah it hides the bucket rubs pretty good.
Awesome video Andy. We went by after EFD and see you have some projects going on. We wanted to stop, but didn't want to bother you.
Very interesting to see how it's done on a large scale such as this. You must be happy not to have to feed on Thursdays and Sundays. These are early starting days brother. I felt a little uneasy when you stepped into the mixer wagon. All the best, Thank you, cheers
Yes, I enjoy the 2 mornings off that I get for sure.
Enjoyed seeing the process you have to feed all those cows every day !
Thanks Ron

Awesome video Andy. I am amazed how the cows stay so clean. As always, thanks for giving us ex farm boys a flashback to our youth.
God Bless the farmers!
As often as the drone may gave you a headache (hanging in trees, being 'harvested', ...) it makes awesome shots and gives a nice overview! 👍
Arnim K. Yes it is a lot of fun to fly it

I was raised on a dairy farm in NC. We milked about 30 cows. This was back in the late 1950s we
Great video Andy. It would be nice to get a video of the milk parlour. Thx
How many calf hutches are there? Your feeding is a full time job, never mind the repairs, field work and manure management.
About 160 , feeding is pretty well a full time job yes
That’s a shitload of feed everyday bud, serious amount of work, fair play to you and the team 👍👍👍
