Flew the 787-9 in July in the new suite. Absolutely fantastic experience! Going again in January next year and cannot wait.. Hope to try their Qsuite at some point though..

In terms of the lounge situation, can I ask whether you have the equivalent One World Sapphire / Emerald status; or no status, so they only allowed the Silver lounge access? My understanding is that the Silver Lounge is for frequent flyer with status but in economy class. I also booked the Business Saver fare, but with status, so I am not sure about the lounge policy, it is complicated. Thank you.
Hi Alan. I do have one world emerald status (Qatar Platinum actually), but it didn’t help to get in. Give it a try and pretend that you look very surprised since you are flying business :)
I will never fly Qater air again, I have cancer and 'Qatar airlines upgaded me tp business class. When it came time for my flight not only did they disregard their promise of an upgrade but the cramped economy seat was uncomfortable and one of the WORST flights I have ever exoerienced.
I’m very sorry to hear of your cancer diagnosis having lost a daughter to stage 4 breast cancer recently. However when we flew from Australia to London in 2012. 2 flights totalling 21 hours, at no time did her or l expect special treatment. If you wanted business class seating l reckon you should have to pay for it like everyone else! We also had her 2 children with us age 6 & 8.

I had stage 3 blood cancerm couldnt walk without assistance and had just been dischCHARGED from hospital 3 days before. Qatar air promised me the upgrade and then reneged on theiir offer. If they hadn;t offered it, I wouldn't be upset. Busiess class was completely empty so I t wouldn't have cost them anything. I am sorry for your loss but it doesn't give you the right to judge me.I am still alive but now have Parkinson's disease on top of my Cancer.
