Grew up at Farmington dragway. You just had to be there, man. Tricky Ricky & them used to put on a show. Easy to judge on the outside lookin in but us from around the area love this s**t. Ricky is hands down a legend period but especially at Farmington. Always a packed house when he was in town.

Yes they would indeed. I watched them just down the rd at Mooresville Dragway. Miss the quick 8's. Miss the shows but I have the memories of what the true sport was. NHRA changed it and it's not as fun as it was then.

Don was a great man. Man I miss the quick 8's. Those where the day's. I went to Mooresville Dragway more. Old man Leazer did the same as well. Let them do there thing.

Imagine if Buster had been there, he'd have disqualified them both!

Nah buster wouldnt, ive seen him during a staging duel walk up to the tree and lay down the controller then walk back,Buster ran the show sometimes he had to show em who was the boss.

I own that Corvette now! It’s the nicest and cleanest car I’ve ever had! I even called Jerry Hass and confirmed it was Rickey’s car.

It may be epic, maybe you have to live it to understand it, but it's stupid period. It would be cheaper just to do a Mexican standoff with the haulers at the gate.!!

this is nothing compared to the staging duel Jeff Dobbins & Palchino had at PDRA VMP this year

Has to be IHRA NHRA woulda tossed em both after about three minutes, and it’s not a duel it’s a cheating tactic say your running a small radiator but the other guys don’t run any water your trying to heat them up people used to try this on me but I ran a small radiator off an electric water pump

So Smith ends up staging first and then beats Tutterow with a holeshot.
