Once at Shuffle Town drag way before pro mods were excepted, all the nitrous guys tried to prevent Walter Henry from running his blown door slammer Corvette in the Quick 8, saying he had a unfair advantage. All the nitrous guys were allowed to take a vote on wether Walter could race or not. The deciding vote came down to a young racer named Scotty Cannon, he said he wasn't going to vote against anyone to prevent them from drag racing!!! Walter got to race and today look at where pro-mods are at. Scotty Cannon is a true Man and Drag Racer.!! Walter Henry got killed in his last race, a exhibition run in Maryland in 1989. He was going to turn the driving duty's over to his son after his last run. R.I.P Walter Henry.
First saw this car when it was in full primer. Big block chevy, nitrous etc. Track announcer said "no burnouts accross the starting line boys". Yea right. Scotty smoked em 660 feet and the crowd went wild. Once a show man always a showman. Keep it up Scotty and always remember this old track. Boogieman saying thanks for the memories.
those were the good days of drag racing i remember in the early 90's he went to a blower set up. he matched raced hugh scott at several outlaw tracks in the southeast. miss those days!!
First race I went to was at shuffletown. The city shit all over them
Usually, when you see fun things go away its because of some greedy bum who digs up a few whiners to make their scam look legit.

I won a trophy at that track in a 66 vw bug during a bug bash . Think it was 89 . Would have to dig through boxes to find it from moving so much .
Shuffletown where PRO Mod started.
Ran many a grudge race there in '69-'70 with my '64 GTO.
Absolutely love Scotty Cannon
