- Spider Vs Spider and only one will survive. See the awesome methods a Redback spider uses to capture, kill and eat a Wolf spider. I use time-lapse video to show the way Redback spiders feed. It's all ugly and very scary stuff. This is week 2 of my amazing Redback spider Terrarium thats quite amazing to watch.
RUclipsr Beanmeister22 had the idea for this Terrarium. It's decorated with a CAT Bulldozer toy, Thomas The Tank (Wooden Railway) and Star Wars Millennium Falcon (Hot Wheels Diecast). This Terrarium has garden soil and other garden bugs that were in the compost heap. It's a fun and inexpensive home for the most interesting and deadly pets I have ever had.

The Redback spider (Latrodectus hasseltii) is a species of venomous spider indigenous to Australia. It is a member of the cosmopolitan genus Latrodectus, the widow spiders. The adult female is easily recognised by her spherical black body with a prominent red stripe on the upper side of her abdomen and an hourglass-shaped red/orange streak on the underside. Females have a body length of about 10 millimetres (0.4 in), while the male is much smaller, being only 3-4 mm (0.12-0.16 in) long. Mainly nocturnal, the female Redback lives in an untidy web in a warm sheltered location, commonly near or inside human residences. It preys on insects, spiders and small vertebrates that become ensnared in its web. It kills its prey by injecting a complex venom through its two fangs when it bites, before wrapping them in silk and sucking out the liquefied insides. Male spiders and spiderlings often live on the periphery of the female spiders' web and steal leftovers. Other species of spider and parasitoid wasps prey on this species. The Redback is one of few arachnids which usually display sexual cannibalism while mating. The sperm is then stored in the spermathecae, organs of the female reproductive tract, and can be used up to two years later to fertilise several clutches of eggs. Each clutch averages 250 eggs and is housed in a round white silken egg sac. The Redback spider has a widespread distribution in Australia, and inadvertent introductions have led to established colonies in New Zealand, Japan, and in greenhouses in Belgium.
The redback is one of the few spider species that can be seriously harmful to humans, and its preferred habitat has led it to being responsible for the large majority of serious spider bites in Australia.

Zenaida Alejo "Wolve" sigh*
+Abeagle24 "git" "succ" there's no hope for this one.
Bob Clover you missed wolve
A couple of tricks you might want to bear in mind:
On the lip of the tank, get some baby powder and mix it with some distilled vinegar. With a cotton swab (cue tip) apply it to the lip. About 2cm in height, all around the tank. This will prevent the spiders from getting to the mesh ontop of the tank.
If you want to capture night time lapses, invest in a red light. It will disturb the spiders less when recording their nocturnal habits.
I swear this channel was about reviewing toys; now its reviewing creepy crawlers;
hangyakushaCC Read the description of his channel.
Look at it this way, the spiders can now review the toys. I have many people suggesting to add different toys.
leokimvideo hey man I actually love it so keep it up man!
leokimvideo I like it just keep making this video
hangyakushaCC
The Ogre Faced Spider has a very unique way of getting prey.
Instead of building a web it makes a net out of silk!
Btw I'm talking about the Spider that looks like a stick!🕷🕷
WOAH! No need to start calling it names, it did nothing to deserve that. You're an ogre face.
Bob Clover
What? Nobody thinking you are serious? Nobody insulting? Is this real life?
looks like a stick? get that spider a cheeseburger! thick thighs save lives
Diana Svay I know what the silk is called!! fucking web
You should set up a live camera feed so we can see progress whenever

Wolf spider was not laughing ;)
leokimvideo lol
leokimvideo is the best
Anybody else notice the little inchworm crawling on the glass right in front of the spiders at 6:00 through 6:10?
Quintin Langford yea
Quintin Langford yup
Quintin Langford haha just saw
Let's play a game. I call it "little inchworm". You have to find savage little inchworm crawling on a spiders web without even caring. Savage little inchworm just passing a spider battle without even caring. Savage little inchworm sitting next to a huge cockroach without even caring.
Quintin Langford haha ikr
This is so intriguing!! I like it so much! Keep uploading! :)
They're not evil, it's just their nature. It's beautiful
That "stick spider" is actually called an Ogre-faced Spider (or by it's scientific family name, Deinopidae).
They prefer to hang from things (like the ceiling of that cage), and actually make nets from their silk that they hold with their four front legs. When a insect passes below them they will stretch the net over the prey and tangle them up with it.
I should also mention that they have much better night vision than a cat or owls, so that light might be blinding it.
Pretty neat stuff, don't you think?
If.. That's a wolf spider in Australia.. The wolf spiders here in Texas are a bit bigger. Huh. That's a first.
Isn't everything bigger in Texas. Thats what I was taught at school in Oz back in the 70's
While this has been a cliche since Jesus was little there's some truth to it. There's more local governments in TX than anywhere else in the US. And it's a monumental task to drive across the state. Like 14 hour long car ride (If you run into traffic which tends to happen plus pit stops)
3rdOfficerTaylor not all spiders are the same size
3rdOfficerTaylor wolf spiders are huge here in Texas
You guys should see the Carolina Wolf Spider. It's the largest one in the US. Dug one up out of it's burrow yesterday while I was de weeding the yard. It's was at least and 1 1/2 inches with it's body alone. The legs were at least another inch. The fucker moved so quick too.
I had a big fear of spiders 🕷.but after I saw your videos I had discovered how beautiful the spiders where and I am not afraid anymore!Thank you!
Well the spiders will never be bored with all them toys to play with
I actually miss the huntsman spiders. Where did they go anyway?
I love all the nature interactions going on in this series 🤔
brilliant work with the time lapse mate, you captured something special there, havent even seen that kind of footage in a nature docco
Love your vids and I'm early YES
Good video Leo as usual , I love watching your spider videos and it is great fun watching the spiders its very educational and interesting. I have been watching since the Thomas vs Thomas video back at 2010 when i was only six! keep up the good work.
Beax Gaming wait so your twelve now? Because I am 12 also if you were six back then you would be born in 2004 which is the same year I was born!

Watching these videos makes me feel so itchy and disturbed, but I’m so fascinated by these creatures I can’t stop watching.
The time lapse was a really cool thing, maybe do a week of Just time lapse that'd be awesome
lol @ 11:43, "time to put the lid back on as I dont want any critters to get out".... green aphid flies out just before he closes the lid... classic

Jason Rodriguez me too I keep getting scared that they are living on my bed
great vid mate you got footage i never expected to happen i have plenty of wolf spiders here there super quick when they're big and when there poisoned by fumigation they come out and become aggressive striking at anything near it
Awesome video, brings me back to my childhood bug hunting, I'm not that old buy just old enough where kids actually went outside and got dirty
Michael Murdoch I'm guessing you are about 10 years old.
MiSsToX1c

MiSsToX1c Dreaming about what kind of panties misstoxic wears, yes those were the days
MiSsToX1c I'm in love
Michael Murdoch Bruh you got real creepy real fast
How have I never seen this? It's like spider reality TV, I love it
Wonder if a tarantula or Scorpion would be a interesting opponent for the Red Back's.
Put me in there with my can of SPIDER SPRAY! hee-hee-hee
WOW!!! You can actually see the liquid going into the spider's fangs! That's amazing! I've never seen that before! :D
I was waiting for this! Thank you for the update :) I'm looking forward to next week.
I would want the red back spider to win cuz that's my favorite kind of spiders
Paula Sanford I'm not really a big fan of spiders but this is fascinating stuff. I love learning about wildlife :)
Belindajane you should look up some dungbeetles
Wish something like this was around before I "found" out about spiders like for plastic spaces, while mowing the lawn I found I can crab jump backward off a riding mower when a huge brown hairy spider came from the under side of the steering wheel as my hand was just there.... I have been filling these spacing with great stuff on lawn chair arms, toys tables, eerie I can tell ya! Again thanks for doing these.
What's a deedly spider? Is it like a Flanders spider?
Bob Clover hahaha!! the simpsons?
+the MCP-boss correct.
Yay
That's how the Aussies pronounce "deadly."
And if you survive you are cursed to talk like Flanders
Spiders aren't "evil" they're just spiders.
They aren't cute, friendly and they don't do tricks. What they do is eat mosquitoes. And I'm damn glad about that
Oh yeh LeoKimVid
Get a Salt Gun, it kills flys but I'm sure it can easily kill spiders. Trust me. I got it from eBay
It shoots out salt pretty fast
Teemo4Life Its not allowed in Australia I believe.
salt gun is a prohibited weapon in Australia
believe me I looked into getting one
leokimvideo Nice to know you guys have bullshit laws just like us.
leokimvideo WTF REALLY....welp I got one from ebay xD
I've had red backs for 2 years. Always feed them a nice big wolfie. They always kill it. Today that changed 😳 The tables turned and the wolfie killed one of my red backs. Completely destroyed her. Theyre just as savage as tarantulas when they eat.
Thought this was interesting. Great video! ---- Spiders are not miniature vampires; all species, as far as we know, digest some solid parts of their prey. What makes it especially interesting is that the digestion process begins outside the spider, where anyone who wants to look can see how it works. Put a medium-sized insect in the web of a large orbweaving spider in the garden. You will see the spider bite the prey, wrap it in silk, wait for it to die, then begin to eat. As a first step in eating, the spider will literally vomit digestive fluid over the prey. Then the prey is chewed with the "jaws" (chelicerae), and the fluid is sucked back into the mouth together with some liquefied "meat" from the prey. The spider repeats this process as often as necessary to digest, and ingest, all but the inedible hard parts. What is discarded afterwards is a small ball of residue. Spiders other than orbweavers may eat the prey's body but discard some of the wings, legs, etc. Spiders with very small (if strong) jaws (such as crab spiders and cobweb weavers) make small holes in the prey and vomit their digestive fluid into the prey's body, the end result being a hollow shell with some or most of the muscles and internal organs digested and sucked out---- Whoa! -Rod Crawford
You should remove the ogre faced spider it's the one that is like a stick they're harmless and are really good for the environment and I have them as pets and they're amazing easy pets to keep, and I hate seeing a ogre faced spider.
And if you see another ogre faced spider just leave it alone please
I think the Wolf Spider might be a Huntsman Spider, it has the weird long legs and crab-like movement. Good video by the way, I love watching things like these, can't wait to see more!
throw a praying mantis in there
Omg so interesting, I am obsessed with creepy nasty crawlies but I am scared to death of anything touching me, so to just watch these gut churning things is awesome. Good work 🙀🙀🙀🙀🙀
You should catch all the jumping spiders you see, they are master spider catchers
The daddy long legs is a definite predator of redbacks, the reason for the long legs is to wrap up redbacks and other venomous spiders without having danger of being bitten while wrapping up the catch. Also that long legged spider is a web casting spider and it will be eaten by the redbacks. The web casting spiders are interesting because they throw a net of webs around their prey
fantastic time lapse footage
you have to remove the old food/ moldy or rotting food. I think it can produce a harmful bacteria that can hurt your creatures.
The Comment Troller ooohhhhh...
Andrew Bikoma They've been invading his home for years. He's tried to get rid of them, but they keep coming back.
Andrew Bikl
stargazer3593 I knew they kept invading his house.
He had an infestation of spiders, ended up catching a few, decided to do this to see how long they'll live
Sweet jeebus. Suddenly, the $400 the spider exterminator wants to spray my house is worth every goddamned penny. Booking it first thing!
This is so interesting! What are the orange things that's rotting?
June Plutonika it's probably food for the crickets.
June Plutonika carrots
Personally, I think this was beautiful
+leokimvideo you should put numbers on your vids to now witch to watch in order and now what week it is

amazing footage, thank you!
Me and my friend both suffer from arachnophobia but we are watching this as a challenge
likewise
this man is the referee and its like a wrestling match loool
at the start you typed deedly :3
this is what i love about spiders they are so intresting to watch.
I'm never going to Australia ever!
Hey Man! Loved this video, pretty sweet! Pretty sure the way that redbacks feed is kind of like flies, where they vomit up acids into the food/prey and suck it back into their body for digestion. Pretty creepy!
Put a beetle in there or the one with armour
They will kill the beetle and all beetles have armor idiot learn to spell
B.O.A lol, English Canadian spelling, like colour. The truth way to spell it
Michael Murdoch There is no true way to spell it, but yeah that is the British/Canadian spelling
The last time I saw your Redback show, you had more Spiders. And with many types of spiders, maybe a Wasp would bring out some Evil behavior and fighting? Maybe some flying insects, like a moth or butterfly? Try that sometimes?
I love the spider videos, please do them daily if you can? Thanks!!!
I got over my arachnophobia by watching spider videos, especially tarantula videos
if i was in your position and had all of these spiders i'd just buy bug spray
lol sorry i was on my ipad and it auto corrected
JacksonAnimations ghv
JacksonAnimations bug spray? What restraint. I'd freak and pour lighter fluid in there and light it
It was uploaded 7 mins ago. I'm finally early for once! :D

I love your videos! I get excited everytime I see you upload a new spider video! Keep it up! :)
Hey leokim I have a hollow decorative brick and I looked under it and found eleven little spider egg sacs it has the web of a red back or black widow spider what should i do ?

Josh Wilson torch it
Or a lighter and deodorant spray
jimjim20 gaming I probably will I want them gone
introduce its webs to fire.
introduce some of its natural predators into its home.
just introduce it to something.
Spiders licking their feet is a grooming mechanism.
Also, amazing tank dude. Holy shit you have you're own ecosystem. I saw the lady bug feed. Truly amazing stuff you film. Very educational.
how often does he do these videos?
Conner Ball about 2-3 times a week no schedule set yet
i love the play by play commentary
got access to a bees nest? maybe place some hornets in there.
The "Stick Spider" in your enclosure is an Ogre-Faced Spider. They have an unusual hunting strategy among spiders... They cast a pre-spun net of silk over prey using their front legs, wrap it up, then feed. They have excellent eyesight, unlike the Redbacks.
I love watching BM22 Channel also.
Matter of fact I love both of your channels!
Your both very interesting & educational to watch.
Thank you!
R.I.P wolf spider. :(
also i love your videos!! keep up the good work!
Great vid Leo 👍🏼
Thanks for the great videos ! Really cool "experiment" you've got going. Can't wait for the next update !
love this ... this is so so epic cant wait to see what happens next
me i think you have made that wee thing perfect m8.welldone looks interesting could u make one corner all sand? see what happens.
I'm watching these vids again waiting nicely for the next to be released..... Love these vids and the commentary
i know i'm late to comment on this video and i know you've already tried introducing a whitetail spider in there in week 7 or something like that but if you want to see something kill a redback , then the whitetail is the best bet. The only thing is you'd have to introduce both spiders in a clean container rather than this fully webbed up one .
If the redback doesn't have time to settle down and web up the enclosure , then it's a bit more vulnerable . I've seen whitetail spiders kill web weaving spiders while outside of their webs before and it's amazing to see .They're like lions going straight for the jugular . There is a video somewhere on youtube showing 1 whitetail kill 4 spiders one after the other , all 4 were bigger than the whitetail in size but all 4 were web weaving spiders with no web to call home.
1:31 there's a little inch worm❤️
fam at 9:44 you can actually see bubbles in the wolf spiders legs being sucked back and forth It's amazing nice footage we would never see this type of stuff
Enjoy watching your videos Leo...
AmaIng vid! Keep up the good work
If people complain about these videos you should make a whole new channel just about this. This is awesome. Add a Venus flytrap, small scorpion, a decent amount of ants, 3 worms.
best spider channel
Ogre Faced Spider: That redback better not kill me :(
Red Back:..........soon...
Worst mistake I've ever done is watching this before going to bed. I guess I'll be sleeping with the lights on tonight.
Love to see red back vs wolf spider mate
you are right about the wolf spider 👍👍👍👍👍
I hate spiders but even if I do, I absolutely love watching your videos! I'm only afraid in person 😂. Keep up the good work! 👍👍
Spiders are fascinating but fucking scary, great footage caught on the time capture.
That Lady Bug has survived throughout this entire video. Lol
Hi Leokimvideo thank you for making your videos so informational and entertaining to watch. I have been subscribed to you for a very long time and your videos have been nothing less than exceptional. Thank you Leo.
That is a Deinopis spider ^_^ They make webs in their front legs which they drop on their prey to catch it and eat it! Really cool spider!
