    Being practicing this morning and figured out exactly the same technique, over the bow and single throttle. Was surprised to see a tutorial suggesting the same. Cool.

      @@kojakgaming3519I have made my own ILS video already. In Italian though ;-) Found the Phantom easier than other non fly by wire planes when it comes to ILS approaches. Looking forward to check your ILS video…

    The F4 was really the easiest one so far for tanking. I don’t even need the lights and only listen to jester to get me into position.

    I don't have a hope in hell. I have a single throttle, and.... hangon! Bear of small brain ponders. I usually use right ctrl and alt as shift keys to control my throttles separately, usually I don't bother as it's a huge faff. But if I only have to play with one side, the right in this case, I have a button I've assigned to shift on my throttle.... maybe if I assign just the right throttle to that shifted key I can juggle the shift button and the throttle? Excellent. I'll try that as soon as I get home.

      Hi @splashfreelance2376, thank you for your comment - flying a dual engine model with a single throttle can be a challenge for certain. But - there is another potential method to address a single physical throttle controlling dual aircraft throttles. You could setup a custom user curve in the "tune combo" option of the axis commands.
      Here's how I would approach it: set up a practice air refueling in the mission editor (plenty of videos on youtube for this, so I won't go into detail). Hit R-CTRL + ENTER when you get in the airplane to call up the controls indicator, then stabilize as best you can so you are fairly stationary in pre-contact (~50 feet behind and below the tanker). You don't have to be perfectly stationary, or fly exact positioning for this. Make note of the engine rpm, the throttle positions on the control indicator, and the location of your physical throttle - and don't move your throttle. Pause the sim and go into the Adjust Controls menu and Axis Controls sub-menu. Right-click on your throttle axis select Tune Combo Axis.
      Once the graph is displayed, click the tickboxes for Slider and User Curve. The graph doesn't show current axis deflection, so you'll need to very, very slightly move your throttle aft to register its position on the graph. This is the area you want to customize with the sliders below the graph. The default movement is 1:1 ratio of throttle movement percent to engine rpm percent, so you need to 'shrink' the 10% gap by decreasing the higher value (the slider to the right of current throttle position). My guess is this will be somewhere around the 70-80 area - so change the 80 value to something like 72 or 73. This will cause the next 10% of your hardware throttle to limit engine rpm percent change to the new user range.
      Hit OK for your changes and test your settings. Observe the throttles' movement on the controls indicator as you move your throttle to see the affect of your user curve. Keep in mind that the next 10% bump in your physical throttle will jump engine rpm back to its original schedule, so you'll need to experiment with values for that upper range as you see fit.

    instead of moving the camera back, there are multiple types of center view keybinds. just snaps back to center quick and easy

      Absolutely-you can make a custom camera as well. I wouldn’t recommend moving the camera back, just up

    Where’s the KC-135A? Basically just different 3D engine models, thrust and fuel consumption rates.

      Hey Andrew - thanks for checking out the video and commenting! Good question; my guess is that when DCS was put together, the R model was the only KC-135 (Active Duty) model in use. The A and E refuelers started getting phased out in 1985 with the introduction of the CFM-56 engines. I only flew R models - but I did log sim time in an A-model simulator (once) when going through CCTS. At that time, E models where phased out from Active Duty to Guard/Reserve units, so I'm not sure when the last A-model flew in a mission capacity.

      @@kojakgaming3519 Wow! You flew the KC-135Rs! It would just be a cool thing to see the A models. More likely to match up with the F-4 and other 60’s & ‘70’s aircraft. Seems like it would be fairly easy for ED to modify the R back into an A and have both. 🙂

      @@Andrew-13579 I agree, it would be cool, or at least novel to have A-models. But, for what it's worth, I did refuel F-4s as late as 2000. Granted, they were NOT USAF, but German Luftwaffe birds. And they were amazing.

    Btw in VR there is no need to faff around with the camera position. Simply raising the seat is enough to see over the canopy bow.
    The F-4 is one of the easiest aircraft to refuel and that includes the Hornet. It's just so incredibly stable in formation. Filled her up in one go on the first attempt.

      Spot on Derby - it is a great stable (and heavy) airframe. First thing I did when I got it was AAR. Then I had to do an old school fix to fix on the HSI!
