That's a great question! I think the most important thing it to just clean as you go! there's always a bit of downtime with baking, whether your waiting for layers to bake, layers to cool, crumb coats to chill, etc., and it's great to utilize that time for cleaning! I find cleaning as you go makes the whole process so much more manageable. I also like to have everything that I need to use for a cake out, and ready to go, so that I'm not rummaging through drawers or pulling out things I don't need. Hope that helps :)
Yes, that happens sometimes! I like to just give it a really good stir with a spatula, and work the frosting back and forth. This gets rid of all those air bubbles, and makes it smooth again! It's a real arm workout, but it will make it much easier to smooth the frosting on the cake.
These don't all come in the same package! you'd need to order them peicemeal, or blend together orange and chocolate brown to make the terracotta color!

they are 8 inch, and then the cactus is made with 6 inch cake layers :)
