I built one 3 years ago ... (12V it takes 7Amp) it reaches 1000c [too hot] ... on (9V = 4 Amp) .. i made a timer (70Sec on / 30sec off) ... so, the temperature remained between 420c and 300c ... works fine

Noce vid, probably the prettiest iron done with a glow plug I saw. The other ones look more like some post apocalyptic dump tools! 😂
Btw, are glow plugs all the sane? Or are they some tinner then others? Or maybe it's the copper tips that are bigger? Mine needed to be drilled

Yeah! Because this can be an issue, since oftentimes the soldering bits diameter are smaller then the glow plug itself!
