The story telling of J-hope journey in the video was very well made. On the street with the kid version of J-hope dressed up like J.Cole dapping each other up. The different interpretations of J.Cole lyrics throughout with J-hope dancing. Taking the train from one station and coming out at the J-station. Then finally to the rooftop coming full circle with J-Hope meeting his idol he was inspired by and ending the video the way it started just showing love. Really enjoyed the barriers being broken with these kind of collabs.

Interesting. I saw the kid as the next "J". J-hope dap handshaking the kid (like giving to the next generation) and at the end, J Cole doing the same with J-Hope. It's like three generations of artists.

J.Cole doesn't seem like the type of artist to do a feature strictly for the money and lord knows he doesn't need or chase clout, so I think he was genuinely interested in making this collab happen. I'm glad he did, as the song is immaculate and a lovely send off for Hobi as he heads to the military.

To put a number on it, Hobi had 8 bars and Cole had THIRTY TWO FULL BARS. That is such mad respect from Hobi to let Jcole own this track as a FEATURED ARTIST on his OWN song and not to mention it’s his last project for a hot minute.
And also I feel reborn about Jcole’s verse lol that shit was rejuvinating

15:04 Ous you're right about the Hope world and Cole world part..
These were Hobi's lyrics in BTS's song ‘Hip hop phile’ :
"Hope hope world, before I built my own world, there was Cole world
When he lit up Friday night,
I became more inspired to write my own music"
(Friday Night was a reference to J Cole's mixtape Friday Night Lights. According to Hobi's latest documentary, he mentioned the same mixtape when he met J cole in Lollapalooza and told him he's his muse and that he loves this mixtape and even mentioned the song "Higher" from the same mixtape..)

I love that you played ARSON 🔥in the beginning because I think it heavily related to the theme of J. Coles verse (especially about passing off the crown, wondering if he should stay a bit longer) was about him contemplating within himself about his career path and SHOULD he move on/extinguish the flames, OR continue to burn even brighter as Hobi put it. Powerful stuff, still can’t believe it’s real 💜

I felt like this was a wonderful "see you later/bye for now" track. hope world with Cole world was such a sight. I loved every bit of it.

15:03 j-hope got his name partially from j.cole. hope world comes directly from cole world, but j-hope is a mix of a bit of everything. Hoseok said he wanted j-something for his stage name, the styling is inspired by j.cole, but the "j" also comes from his surname Jung, "hope" came later when they thought of the whole story with pandoras box and all that.

You just gotta love him. You propably wont even see this comment since its already a old video, but the one thing that really captured his essence while working on his project was that he literally put zero effort to bring in features for his album, the only thing he did was this with J.Cole and i think that truly shows how much respect hobi has for him. This song IS a huge milestone in Kpop.

Cole and J-Hope being some of my favorite music creators this meant so much to me. Hobi went live before the song dropped and mentioned they have been in contact and that Cole even sent him a whole paragraph via text. I could tell during my first listen that this wasn’t just a colab for the sake of colabing, they both put a lot into it, and it makes it that much more special to see that human connection and crossing of barriers through music. Especially since everytime I listen to Cole’s verse on this song. It almost feels like it’s the bridge between J-Hope’s Arson and More. He wanted to go back to his roots, that’s exactly what he did. He went from dancing to J Cole on the streets, to dancing to “on the street” *with* j Cole! Everybody is interpreting it different but from the alleyway, to the streets, to the subway, back to the streets, then to the roof. I interrupted it as BTS storyline. The rooftop is a pedestal he sees Cole on, which he eventually meets him at in the end. Alleyway is the hardships, the streets is the recognition, the subway is the brief pause in the military, then the streets when he returns, and the rooftop is when BTS unite to reach “new heights” like the top of a rooftop building 💜

..i sense J Hope's passion in doing this video...J Cole seems to be a legend in hip hop nowadays..both of them form a wonderful collaboration...this video is celestial, artistically speaking. J hope's dancing is also extraordinary..it reminds me of the film Dancing in the Rain with Gene Kelly. The meeting between the 2 worlds is amazingly enriching.

J-cole is my favorite artist of all time as well while Jhope is my bias in kpop too so I feel your excitement. I actually started crying my first time listening to it and I still shriek everytime J-cole says; "Jhope, cole world." Cause its two huge impacts in my life joining forces and I can do nothing but sit here in awe everytime I listen or watch the mv.

I absolutely love how y'all pointed out the dap at the end cuz ppl outside of Black culture aren't gonna understand the depth of that kinda respect. And further you emphasizing how J.Cole truly INVESTED into his not only music collab but solid friendship with Hobi. Calling him 'brutha' as soon as they met at Lolla. This is truly history & everything for each of these cultures and hiphop as a whole. A rising student finally on league with his King muse. ✋🏽🥹🤚🏽♥️

the kicker for me is that JCole had more lines than hobi (which is def okay with me) and we see jhope dancing to his verses. it's such a beautiful full-circle moment bc that's how he STARTED. he got into dancing, and hiphop, by dancing to JCole's verses! and now, before he enlists, he's going back to his roots with the artist he admires most. they truly created a masterpiece

Without me sounding stupid, i don't think this collab is even about K-pop.... of course BTS are Korean artists that came up through the Idol system but they've always been a bit different, they've always been pushing the limits of that system, do you know what I mean? It's just about the music for them and J.Cole is a total kindred spirit in that sense. To me, this collab is purely about the music and the love for their art. Hobi gives way for his idol to just let loose on the song and J.Cole seems to have nothing but respect and sees that Hobi lives and breathes this as much as he does. It's an incredible song and an amazing collab!

Unexpected collab, but oh so welcome. I LOVE J Cole. I heavily mess with his manner of flow and what he talks about. And I peeped J Cole harmonizing at the end. He sneaks it in on a lot of collabs, and I'm glad to see it here. Very happy for J Hope.

I also don't think people understand how big this collab is. My brother is a big J. Cole fan so I've known him through him, personally he become part of my circle late in the game when he featured with 6lack (that song has a very deep important meaning to me).
I honestly don't know what to say except for: I FEEL LIKE I WAS NEVER GONNA FIND OUT YO BIAS OUS, I was a bit shocked but, very pleasantly so. 💜🫰🏾.
