If anyone is wondering where I got the ramps for this video, I made a video about it a while back. Check it out here! ruclips.net/video/y7NV_8mwHr0/видео.html
Seems like you’d be money ahead getting the V6 and making improvements from there. Both rigs perform relatively equally, so that says a lot about what Arrma has done with the V6 model.
I’ll have to try setting the kcrc ramp on a hill to get more ramp up before loft off. Usually I’m going the other way into a downhill landing . I never thought of this
Nice 👍. After modding a v5 like yours with a max6 1650kv , alum diff covers x3 , chassis and Hubs and everything else like M2c pistons and caps . I wouldn’t do it again I don’t think . With the extra parts I made another stock v5 with aluminum chassis braces of course but nothing else . The stock feels a lot lighter . The max 6 1650 is a beast but they’re very close in my opinion . I don’t sit and speed run kratons , I jump them off a kcrc ramp . Yeah I’d take a v6 hands down before getting someone’s older Kraton and modding all day every day
Also , I’d like to share I had marine grease in the bearings but after rinsing them down with a squirt of blaster dry silicone spray and opening both up I’d say ditch the marine grease . They work great with a dab of white silicone grease and the oil imho . Super coasty 👍when I let off the throttle and I firmly believe on top of the plastics look new , it keeps them less brittle . I love my kratons and outcasts
My body on my notorious v6 is easy to get off and put on and has not popped off for me. I make sure to push the release in all the way and just do one side at at a time. Just my thoughts love the body and the notorious it’s a beast!! Happy bashing buds
Now i understand what you ment... Btw, i like to run my kraton lightweight. Had also 4990, but went back to lighter max8 and lighter wheels. My personal preference but i have a more race style, no big air. Lighter suspension fluids etc. Now it has been converted to a pickup truck (traxxas Raptor scale body with scale wheels, haven't tested it yet). Thats nice about armma too. Inner change able parts.
@@ICRC83 serpent 2wd buggy, swb drag, lwb drag/touring, sc, 4wd, Armma swb monster, lwb pickup, asso sc8e, carisma rally, and some other 😂. And think 7 or 8 speedboats... 🤣 Got bit out off hands, although i think could be way worse too seeing some guys on yt
The way I get the body off is the rear first, then the front with my fingers under the wheel wells and rock it from one side to the other. It is cumbersome but it doesn't fly off like Traxxas. On the other hand body clips have been around since day one, no need to reinvent the wheel
well, I think I have commented on your other videos, but I will mention more of what I broke on my V6. It is my first RC car. So far I have broken front A arms ( my fault, bad landing skills haha. I did crack/spit my Front Diff housing. I bought a replacement for $12 and havnt replaced it because it still works :D. I have ovaled the holes where the A arms pins go through on the front, I havnt checked the rear. I also broke a decent amount of the A arm pins. I broke the plastic piece that the front upper arms threads into. Just broke that little piece off but it still drove fine. I broke the gray part on the connecter for the batter. ( I just electrical taped it). I also ended up breaking the small pin that holds the cup in on the rear diff. Which ended up stripping where that pin goes. Arrma price was about $20 without shipping and I can buy a whole diff for $30 on ebay, so I ordered diffs on ebay instead. Waiting on those. Had a nut come off the shock tower but went to the local hardware store and got them cheap. ( all shocks were loose). I also bent my front shock tower, however the body still fits, so I havnt replaced it. I also broke the fan on the motor. The black wire came out of the fan after the silicone they have. They want like $17 for this fan and it seems so crappy and cheap. Its also the same fan in the ESC and that fan also broke. A blade broke off somehow and it stopped my fan from moving. I pulled out the broken piece and it spins now, but dont know how good it cools. I bought some cheaper fans off amazon and will see how those go as a replacement. Also broke a Wheel pin at a RC track. Cased a jump and it broke on impact. ( like landing on the face of a jump, but it wasnt the 1st time I did it.). I am at $258.38 in parts of just maintenance. ( I still have some extra pins and stuff, and went through like 3 A arms). I still have the front aluminum red piece since the old one still works. I bent it back straight, however the holes are getting pretty ovaled in that also. ( I guess I should add I bought a chassis for it because I thought I bent my chassis. They dont mention or show pictures of the chassis having the front bent up slightly. I bent it straight thinking I bent mine (that was when I noticed the diff housing cracked and other carnage). I paid $70 on ebay for one then realized they are on there for like $45 instead of the $115 on arrma. I bent my chassis back and got it pretty close. I am running it for now until I have a reason to change it. ( so you can subtract $70 from my total and $30 because I bought 2 diffs for $60. so I have one spare. So about 158.38 in parts.\ However I abuse mine with big jumps and learning haha. It takes a lot though and I have tumbled it pretty bad like a somersault and it kept going fine. I have done big jump and landed flat and it still kept going. jumped about 20ft high and landed on its roof and was fine. The body I did 0 prep on as I seen people tape them. Body holding up great, there is 1 small hole it in, but I expected way worse. I do have the issue like you do taking the body off, it is annoying, especially when the car is covered in mud. I found it better to push the back one down and grab the side and pull a side off first, then the other side. then do the front. Totally worth it, and I almost got the 4s as my first RC car but it was like $100 more to get the 6s. I figured I could just drive it slow and 4s looked too slow.
@@ICRC83 very true! takes a bit to get used to flipping in the air with reaction time and knowing what the car will do before it does it! I was thinking of getting the new EXB if they update it, but thought about how it wouldnt be worth selling my car to get a new one with a couple differences

You have convinced me that the arrma kraton v6 has a ridiculous amount of weak points and arrma hasn’t really addressed the plastics on their rigs so thankyou for saving me a lot of money ….i will keep to my hobao mtx and traxxas Maxx ….was going to make the jump to arrma and see what the fuss is about however monkey metal and cheap plastic has definitely shown me that they are still a not very good rc company especially their 6s line …..Thankyou for your input and saving me money
On the v6 battery tray there is a little rubber tail thing clipped into place. It's on the right side end of battery tray(front of car facing left) What is that little rubber clip thing for? If you figure out what it is can you do a short showing us what it's for?
@ICRC83 balance plug is that the loop connector thing that came plugged into one of the battery ports? Also believe it or not a video on properly cleaning and rc would be helpful.i know some people go crazy with it practically rebuilding their cars...I'd like to keep mine super clean but not rebuild the thing everytime kinda clean. There are so many conflicting videos...some say use water and soap, others say thats evil lol some say wd40 others say it will dissolve bearing grease but good for everything else, some say use silicone lubricant. It's all a lil confusing as to which one to listen to but I do know one thing I really don't want my new rc to rust and I'm probably going to have to use a garden hose outside to clean it....not like it fits in a sink lol and wife would kill me if I tried to bring it in the shower or bathtub lol. So yeah a cleaning video from someone that's been maintaining rc's rust free would be helpful.
@ICRC83 I went from toy grade to China hobby grade(wltoys 124017's) then went full out with the V6 so probably skipped a few learning lessons ...things that would seem really basic to most rc users.
