This channel is focused on my passion for RC cars/trucks. I also love video editing, so this is a good way to combine both!
I mostly have 1/8 scale RC bashers, but often run with and record other sizes. I try to get a blend of videos which focus on: big air, tutorials and comparison/reviews.

If you are seriously going to race, don't buy a ready to run. You are getting the bottom of the barrel of electronics and other parts, not to mention that building a kit gives you the ability and knowledge to work on the car when you eventually wreck and brake parts.
@@virtualreality4me544 You're correct. Luckily this video is not about trying to race.
I just bought the esc and motor (2200kv) bundle on horizon hobby. Said 115 bucks might as well try it snd bought some tires and wheels. Good clearance deals right now.
@@andyrips834 nice! It's usually like 350 bucks I believe. Nice purchase!
Center rear driveshaft ?
Yep!
@ICRC83 gotcha yeh stock one is pretty thin, people use the Mojave center shaft it’s a great upgrade
@@radiocontrolledmadness8119Great tip! I've never heard that before. Thank you! It's the same length?
@ yeah I forget whether people use the front or back but rcdude uses it in his xte
J Concepts really should be ashamed of themselves for releasing a tire that baloons THAT much...
That may be why they put such a heavy duty beadlock on there 🤷
How da fck do you make crashes look dope⁉️ 🤷🏾 Only Ian Tarrentino #Irc83💪🏾
Thanks RR, you're too nice!
Thinking abt buying this. Can i fit 2 3s batteries in that tray or do i hv to buy a 6s batt? Don't want to if i don't hv to. Trying to find out before i buy
@@myron1045 this is just the stock battery tray. Are you saying that you're thinking about buying a 6S Kraton?
@ICRC83 yes. The exb. I'm thinking a can stack 2 3s batteries on top of each other but wasn't sure. Didn't want to hv to buy a 6s batt. Sorry notifications not working for some reason
@myron1045 oh, yeah two 3s batteries will definitely fit!
@ICRC83 cool. Thx for the info
Where is this!?
@@413RC haha it's not as cool for RCs as it looks here. Very tight with lots of trees.
Damn that sucks 💔
Nice purchase
With cost and time to convert and mod, just purchase the race kit form and not build it twice. Like that mid motor design tho! Kyosho was the first to do mid motor on the optima. 80’s.
@@stoneenforcer it would still take longer to build a kit, but I hear ya. The cost isn't that much more when all said and done!
We use these things for hobby racing with other electronics though. Its to slow. Better buy the newest roller which is even cheaper and put decent electronics on it. Its stronger and better and more service friendly. But were having a blast with them and no issues with them at all. Yes we cracked a few chassis when hitting curb at high speeds and the popping rodends. Other then that mostly worn bearings. We use this particular version because off cheap chassis. Seen someone saying rb10 better buy, i say its not because have sr10 too. And i also can tell with hiw we use them i haven't been able to get even close with sr10. Serpent also has way lower tollerances. Put optional ballstuds(?) on it, problem solved i would say. But mostly depends what you want or expect for this money. Also have ht team which is definitely better and also has a lot off extra's compated to this version. Bit there is a new version which is about 250, and that is a full race roller so i would say buy that...
Thanks for the detailed comment! Where do you see a serpent roller? I could only find RTR or kit
@ICRC83 got this from old interweb 240 bucks, SER500013 (srx2 gen3). This is newest car, with all the whissles you need i would say. I run professional race set (160a/6.5t) on it (got it for cheap 😄) but recently bought newest hw120a sensored quickrun for other car and its about 55 bucks. Think that it plenty to play around with and would get bit slower motor also. A 6.5t is quite fast to be honest. I run on parkings with it and its such a blast setup correctly. Do need decent weather (and temps) off course for grip but man, never thought a 2wd would handle that great. Dis run for fun offroad also, but not allowed anymore because they birds and bees didn't like that according to the owner 😡... Total bull off course, but can't do nothing against it
@ICRC83 Oh yes, that is a kit, but also a better car and you can put your own electronics on it. Way better choice...! We only bought the cheap mm because chassis is cheaper and we "race" on streets and it gets bit rough so now and then. I race with 3 guys, me and other faster guy and he's also bit wild, break sometimes things do to crashes, slower guys never broke down, just bearings, dirt in gears (so replaced them) and the rodends, nothing else. And we run depending on layout from 60 to 80kph with them so i would not consider that slow.
@@peteroosterhoff8850 right on! 🤟
@@ICRC83 Don't forget the serpent is way more bang for the buck. At about 370 ish (servo 25, esc 55, motor 55) you have a running car that's cheaper and more comparable to the rc10 b7 which is even more expensive without electronics. Setups can be found at for instance at site as petit Rc if you don't know much about it or as a guide. Im not an expert but know bit about rc's, can't think off any other car which gives you this much (race)car for the money... Upgrades like for instance shockpistons, rubbers, springs are sold at normal prices and will upgrade it even more (i had these upgrades on second hand ht team edition so that's why i know). But personally think these minor upgrades or better electronics are only needed if you run "professionally" in competition... Hope it helps you guys. Its definitely my favorite car to run if conditions are right on street (and offroad in past!), because good 2wd is more fun and spectaculair to drive... 👍
Great review. Another option for a rtr 2wd buggy is the Yokomo RO 1.0, but I believe it was a limited release. Nothing says discontinued but it has been out of stock everywhere for months. I’m eager to get one if it’s ever available again for it’s the best rtr buggy by far.
@@deezrcz Good point! I did look at that one and couldn't find it in stock anywhere. Did you ever try it?
@@ICRC83 no I didn’t personally get a chance to drive one but I saw one racing against the best kits in stock form, and it was even with them. Reviews I’ve seen also say they hang with the best kits right out of the box.
@deezrcz Nice. I was ready to buy that one then realized you can't find it anywhere. I think the spyder is second best
@@ICRC83 I would have to agree considering it’s mid-motor. What kind of top end/top speed does the spyder get? The rb10 only hits 20 mph according to reviews. That’s an issue considering most built kits hit 30+ mph.
@@deezrcz that's a good question. I didn't test that. I should have but I would guess it's like 20 mph on 2s too. Stock electronics and gearing is really slow
This is a decent RTR buggy, I've owned a few and still own a RM version now. Parts availability will be the challenge with this brand as you mentioned in the video. If you plan to race you are better off purchasing a used race roller and then buying your own electronics. If you just plan on having some fun and getting some laps in during the winter than IMO the Team Associated RB10 is the better buy, yes it is rear motor but the parts are readily available for that platform.
@@GroundSwellRacing Thanks for the informative comment! Good points. The money is adding up as I continue to upgrade this thing. Lol
Please post a follow up video after you get a race day on this buggy. I'm considering this same buggy fir the same reasons
@@thatoneguy2756 Thanks for watching! I'm not good enough on the track to race at this point. Maybe one day. But I could post a follow up on how it runs with the new mods..
@ICRC83 yes, please do. Has it been reliable for you?
@thatoneguy2756 what you see in the video is what has broken so far. @craighallett has broken the rod ends and shock tower. But for the money it's still not bad
@ICRC83 I noticed the body looks like it's a semi flat sheen. Does it still have the protective wrap on it or is it a flat finish? Thanks for the reply!
@@thatoneguy2756 You're too good. I left it on for most of the video on accident. Took it off for the driving section and later. Good eye! It got a lot shinier after that.

The best Typhon video I think Ive ever seen...showing its versatility is great! I love mine, running alloy Kraton hubs atm... but this will widen the stance big time if you do this. I also am a flat surface racer so I'm running alloy M2C Arms all round. A great mod for the Typhon is Mojave arms front and rear. A lot stronger. The Typhon V5 is my favourite car I own I reckon.
@@Top-Jimmy Wow, thank you for the compliment on the video! I appreciate the support!! 👊. Mojave arms sound like a good fit
@@ICRC83 Yes mate they are super beefy!! To finish it of and make it bullet proof, A set of Alloy Typhon Hubs on all fours from Vitavon. Game over brother :)

Issue is weight, aggressive pattern on both for sure. Manufacturers need to improve on weight imo. Its harder on the diffs/mechanics to.

Ok… I really like the video. Short and to the point. I picked up the TLR Typhon Roller. Haven’t put electronics in it yet. Are you having issues with the shock standoffs like everyone else? Thanks
Thank you! Subscribe if you like the content. As for the standoffs, since I converted it from a standard Typhon I think I still have the original standoffs. So that might have worked in my favor. Either way it's not a big part to fix if you break them. You're going to love the purchase. Congrats!
I just got my tlr typhon last month. It's pretty awesome. I did use my old kraton hubs and stuff so I can fit more tires on it. Taking out to the dunes this weekend with some paddles. I like that it uses the same diffs as the larger 6s stuff but it's small, makes me feel like it's super strong. Only broke the wing so far 💪
@@keldonatorThanks for watching/supporting the channel! That's so awesome, and sounds fun. See what I mean? What other race buggy can you also go bashing at the dunes and not destroy?

@@spenn2007 awesome! Congrats on the purchase! I just randomly made this video, but I noticed the same thing lately about Typhon videos. Lol. Not sure why!
I've been saying buggies are the best, they do everything! And the precise tolerance of a race kit is something to behold. 8th scale race platforms are the pinnacle of rc engeneering, hell even alot of the big bashers are based on buggy/truggy race platforms and use alot of the same build techniques.
@@K2H117 good point. Do you have a race buggy now?
