This cube is actually amazing, i tried customising it based on your recommendations but had to make do with the lube, because id din’t have the same lube as you. It instantly replaced my gan 356m
    My rs3m’s setup is:
    - 2 - 3 drops dnm 37
    - 2 drops of gan lube, or any other silicone lube
    - 1 and a half 360 degree turn on screw to loosen tensions
    - 3 clicks on spring tension
    - added n40 magnets in the edges (no glue needed)
    - 2 drops of gan lube around the screw to stop spring noise

    pro tip about washers!!
the washers have a rough and smooth side from the manufacturing process.
If the springs are making a lot of noise, they're against the rough side. Flip the washer over and presto! no more spring noise.

@@RofICopters what would happen if you used some of the gravitos (SP?) on the washer instead of the black whatchamacallit in the video? Wouldn't it just let the spring slide a little and thus not causing the spring sound?

    • @RofICopters
      @RofICopters 2 года назад

They're ingredients are fundamentally different. Each has their own intended application. lubricating metal to metal surfaces isn't the same as plastic to plastic.
It might get rid of the spring sound, but at a cost. The sound comes from the rough surface vibrating the spring enough to make sound. If you put in enough non-metallic lube to stop the sound, it could just gum up the workings. OR it'll just be a temporary fix as the lube goes away.
turning over the washer without any lube at all will get rid of the spring sound.

I like slower cubes so what i did is to tighten the cube a little bit to where it corner cuts efforlessly but put the spring compression to the max so I have a nice stable cube that is the right speed for me but has amazing corner cutting. I just put 2 drops of M-Lube (bc that's all I have) and that's how I setup my cube.

I had RS3M 2020 for the longest time and I also bought the extra magnets. However, I was too lazy to install the magnets and don't want too strong of a magnet. This is the reason that I didn't like my RS3M 2020 over MeiLong 3M. Reason being that RS3M 2020 is a heavy cube. It requires those extra magnets. I finally installed the magnet after months. That makes the biggest difference. It's very stable now and I'm going to make it my main.
Lesson learned: those extra magnets are required for this to be S-Tier cube. No, the extra magnets are not making it too strong.

Probably would use DMN instead of compound x if I put angstrom lubes in an RS3 2020 (partly because I have it already, and partly because I like faster cubes). Generally I would still use calvin's high viscosity as my default for most of my cubes, but my Meilong 4M, Aoshi GTSM and MF8 M all use dignitas+gravitas+DMN, and they are definitely my 4, 6 and 8 mains.

Use weight 5 in core and drop 2 drops of lunar on the middle edge where you should turn 45° before that. Then take the upper layer, lift it up with your hand slightly above the edge piece and then scramble. If you can buy both weight 5 and a lunar (or better dnm 37) follow this. If not buy a weight 3 silicon based tube and and it to both the core and the center piece. My rs3m is set up with weight 3 on both core and pieces. It works perfect it's been months and I just lube 2 times.

I havent seen any of your solves, but what mostly works is:
      - Keep working on your cross to f2l transision
      - work on cross+1
try to find your first pair while inspecting and when you start solving try looking at the second pair
(Thats damn hard, but practice makes perfect!)
      - work on f2l lookahead
      - work on f2l efficiency
You can train that while doing slow/untimed solves
      - work on your algorithms and perfect them to a point where you can just spam TPS on LL
If your algs sucks, try switching to better ones
(If you don't know full PLL, learn it)
      And the best tip ever:
      - record your solves!
Do a avg5, and analyse the solves in slomo
You will find your weaknesses and then you gotta work on them!
That should bring you sub 12 fairly fast =)

bro i dont recommended lubing the core to fix spring noise, a lot of people get a issue called "stripped core" what happens here is that the scre unscrews itself due to this sometimes in mid solve a whole layer of cube comes out when ur turning from my experience this happens due to lube in core slowly lossening the screw so just bear with the noise its a 9 dollar cube afterall what do u expect?

What are the screws and the compressions for? Is the screw “ center travel” and compression is “tension?”

What kind magnet did you put in to the cube? I don't wanna order at the cubicle just to order magnets thats only a dollar to be shipped all the way to the Phillipines. And I looked up in the cubicle and there is no specific magnet name (e.g. N45, N50, etc.). Thanks!

Be careful with that spring compression, my cube just popped an entire layer. (Exploded).

Even cyoubx does not know what extra magnets he added but my recommendation is n42 or even n45 . Some people even use n50 but I think that is too strong.

I was going to get the RS3M 2020, but have none of those lubes. Would it be worth it to get the Cubicle Custom edition setup as shown, or should I just get the RS3M and put what little lube I have in it?
