This is the exact video I need. I would venture to say I’m not alone in that I have all my favorite commanders constructed already. That being said, going forward I’m typically only interested in future cards that add to those decks. It’s been a while since an actual commander dropped that made me build a new deck. Niv Supreme inspired me to construct a new deck. Anyway, thanks for the video. You guys aren’t the biggest channel but I can assure you the way you cover information is top tier. No nonsense and practical. Your time and effort is appreciated. Thank you.

It’s funny you mention Mirage Mirror and Evolution Sage together, because I’ve been using the Mirror to bounce between Roaring Earth and Evolution Sage copying a lot recently. Once in a while you can even transition a bit later to copying a bigger counter-doubler.
In a +1/+1 counters deck, you’re seldom without a permanent you wouldn’t want two of at any time anyways.
I’ve been very happy with the MKM lands so far, fetchable surveil effects feel like free value in a ton of situations. I might see if I can find cheap borderless ones in the less popular color sets, I cracked a borderless u/b one in the prerelease and it’s gorgeous.
So I was thinking, after I saw the spoilers for Esoteric Duplicator, Simulacrum Synthesizer, and Worldwalker Helm, I'm really considering retooling my Adrix and Nev deck to be a janky Simic artifact/artifact creature sacrifice and copying deck. I feel like we have the tech to make it work now that we have the reconfigure stuff from Kamigawa, the prototype and artifact creatures from Brothers War... Could be fun
Whir of invention is in my shorikai Deck to find parhelion 2. It also Doubles as grave hate, removel Draw ramp and clones (Nautilus ship, surge Hacker meck, weatherlight, Mana Rocks, phyrexian Metamorph to Name some Things)

Ive got a Whip of Erebos in my Megatron deck, can bring things back ive already sac'd to sac again, its excellent!
I'm thinking about building an Esper artifact/fairie deck with Alela, too, so Gadgeteer is a definite add for that.

I recently used embercleave on a malignus in my xenogos deck. My unassuming opponent took 78 damage after deciding to chump block malignus with a token. Let's just say he had it coming.

If you pull a creature back from the yard with Whip of Erebos, can you blink it to keep it around (and get another ETB trigger)?

@@marcoottina654 The reason I'm asking - is because there's a similar enchantment with similar wording that I believe you can work around by blinking: Dreams of the Dead. It's my understanding that because it says exile it instead of putting it anywhere else - that you're not putting it anywhere else, you're exiling it - that it can be worked around in this way.
Forensic gadgeteer in my urza is op. Glad I bought it before it'll reach $6-8.

Unexplained Absence is great in my Prowl deck. He can exile my cloaked card so I can actually cast it. Plus triggering mentor of the meek?
I love seeing good stuff white cards. All these 1 for 1s are mana efficienct but sad to use.

I really dislike Seize the Spotlight, and I recommend people DON'T buy it. I recently built a Brion Stoutarm deck, and thought this would be an important card for the deck, but I cut it after the first game, because the effect wasn't that great... In a 4 player game you will get three cards and three treasures which is nice, but in a VS game you only get 1 card and 1 treasure because only opponents get to choose fame or fortune.
If you want to play card draw, there are better cards to run, and if you want to play treason effects there are better cards you can run.
I think every good card that is good because of the nature of multiple opponents becomes worse in a 1v1, that's natural. If you often play 1v1s and not commander then yeah idk why you thought the card would work well in that environment.
@@sebastianscopa3188 Happy to hear you feel that way, Seb. I don't. Most cards that have the ability to vote allows the controller to choose as well. With this card you cannot. This card is objectively worse than most of the other voting cards printed.
I have to tailor my deck builds to be as powerful against 2 people as it is against 4 people, because I never know how many people are going to be at my card table during each game night.
I'm so confused why you'd bother with voting cards in 1v1 in the first place. They're objectively worse than other options in that scenario. Literally none of them are worth the extra mana you're spending on them lol
