I won't deny that I also thought this would be a pretty basic story like most others and so I was ready to let this one pass me by. But hearing such high praise for it (and the story themes that I will admit speak to me) makes me more curious about it. I think I will have to pick this up sooner rather than later and see what it's all about. Thanks for the review.
Pardon for a strange question, but what story is considered basic in these types of narratives? I guess I just haven't consumed that much of such stories, so I'm not very 'educated' in this department. What makes A Space for the Unbound stand out? It deeply touched me and I want to know what makes it special.
I played this game with my girlfriend because I saw a good review for it and.... man. It was amazing. I won't spoil anything because half of the joy in the game is trying to piece together what is happening yourself (seriously, I'm not usually that fussy abt spoilers but this is a game you want to play relatively spoiler-free) but like. it was amazing. And definitely made us cry.
Been going back and forth playing this and the Dead Space Remake (fantastic game btw coming from someone who played the original) and sometimes I find myself completely engulfed in this game's amazing story! What a strong start for indies this year! I love the mini games and the nods to the 90s nostalgia of collecting things. I remember being a kid in the 90s and always grabbing up cool rocks or saving up my allowance to buy the latest packs of Pokemon or Yu-Gi-Oh cards lol the interactions with all of the characters and dives into various mental illnesses were done so well! Brilliant game and brilliant review!

Thank you your review is valuable for me
Glad it was helpful!
I want to play this game, but my reasons are superficial. I just want to play as horse-face Ryu and shoot a fireball at Nazi Wario. 😆
That's as good a reason as any
This does seem lovely
