I highly recommend you start with their album Black Celebration, and Music for the Masses and continue with Violator. I’m literally shocked you haven’t heard of them. They sell out stadiums all over world. Don’t try to lock them into a specific genre, many have tried and failed. Welcome to the DM journey, you’re in for an incredible ride!!!
Hi Frank, thanks for your comment and suggestions. I was going through my 80's playlist the other day and was surprised to find them there, so I have heard of them, just hadn't connected the name. Will be watching more, stay tuned!
Totally agree with everything you said. Those 3 albums are the best back to back to back albums of all time from any band IMO opinion.
Their rabbit hole runs very deep.
Btw, always recommend doing the studio/ album version over the video. In some cases, the studio version is much better.
The best live band EVER!!! ... Never let me down again, Enjoy the silence are a must watch .
Hi there, thanks for the suggestions, will add to the list. Stay tuned!
DM is their own genre. 1981 to 2024 to beyond. Enjoy a long journey down the rabbit hole. Amazing shows, songs and videos.
Hi there, looking forward to checking more of their catalog soon, stay tuned!
The sounds of my youth are definitely filled with DM!! “Personal Jesus” is one that you could possibly heard before. “Never Tear Us Apart”, “Somebody”, and “Blasphemous Rumors” are some of my personal favorites, with “Somebody” being my very favorite of theirs. 🥰
I have definitely heard of 'Personal Jesus', will have to check out the other ones!
@@GeorgeTheCloud sorry!! I’m blowing up multiple threads of yours LOL!! 😂 I love to go back through and see things I may have missed before. I really enjoy your reactions! 😊
Hey don't be sorry at all! In fact, I encourage it, glad you're having fun in the channel!
@@GeorgeTheCloud 😊 I love seeing reactions from creators that look at bands/musicians that they have never heard or listened to. It’s fabulous hearing the thoughts & opinions.
I have found music from creators that I never knew I was missing! 🥰 Dimash, Putri Ariani, One OK Rock, and AURORA to name a few. I don’t really watch TV or movies, so I spend my time watching reactions in my downtime. 😊
I think you mean "Never let me down" - "Never tear us apart" is INXS.
As a newcomer to DM. Depeche Mode are a huge band from England there peak was probably 87-97. I highly recommend checking out "Personal Jesus" or "Enjoy The Silence" to start . DM is often referred to as the Godfathers of EDM music also those songs i mentioned are probably the most songs mixed by dj's or remade by other artists
Hi there, 'Personal Jesus' sounds very familiar, also I discovered I did have them in my 80's playlist, so they go way back and I wasn't expecting it. I knew their music just not the name probably. Stay tuned for more!
Never Let Me down Again is a legendary DM track they always play live it all started on there 101 tour. I recommend checking out the original version then either live from there 101 tour in front of 80,000 fans at The Rose Bowl or from there Barcelona version which it is a bit more recent
An album about death produces this gem.
You might be right Phil.
They released their first singles in 1981. I recommend «Never let me down again» (1987, euphoric), «World in my eyes» (1990, cool), «I feel you» (1993, rocky), «Stripped» (1986, experimental) and «People are People» (1984, industrial).
Hi Marc, thanks for the comment and info. I was going through my 80's playlist the other day and was surprised to find them there, didn't expect them to go that far back, although I did get an 80's vibe in this video. I'll check out the ones you suggested. If you enjoy music from the 80's make sure to look at my 'BACK TO THE 80'S!' Playlist
You gotta listen to DM songs a few times to get acquiented. Then you'll put them on repeat forever!
I hear ya, that's the case for some bands. Stay tuned for more!
Every song from Devotional tour starting with Higher love.
Ni Nikole, thanks for the suggestion, will add to the list. Stay tuned!
I can tell you where to place them...... at the top. , 44/45 years in to their carrier and still stellar and playing live to millions. Good analogy "Bruce Lee" Depeche mode are water.
I hear ya! Will look more into their catalog to learn and explore.
You won't regret getting into Depeche Mode. Enjoy the ride.
I sure will, stay tuned!
Deep-esh (like fresh) and Mode is correctly pronounced as the common English term. 😊 7:40 they are definitely most known as an 80’s genre with their synth keyboard sounds and carried over into the 90’s. Those years were their most memorable and active but, they have made music in the decades since.
When I was a teenager listening to them, a lot of people called the genre at the time, “New Wave”, “Waver”, “angst”, etc. They were like emo 🖤 music before there was emo lol 😂 Even the long bangs covering one or both eyes and of course, Big Hair as the 80’s was all about!! LOL!! What a time to be alive. ❤️👏🙌
Similar bands/sounds are along the lines of Thompson Twins, Oingo Boingo, The Cure, The Ramones, The Smiths, U2, Simple Minds, OMD, Tears For Fears, etc. very much European young rebel types of music.
Some of the bands you mentioned I know and some I don't. Will have to feature them on my 'Back To The 80's!' segment.
@@GeorgeTheCloud definitely!! It was an incredible era to be alive in ♥️😊
Amazing
Thanks for your support!
Loved your reaction!!!❤❤❤
I appreciate it! Stay tuned for more...
Es una de las bandas más influyentes de la música y más importantes de la historia.
Bueno ya estoy aprendiendo mas de ellos. Estare viendo mas videos pronto Eloy!
Depeche Mode - French for Fast Fashion - Have been around since 1981, Check out their song DANGEROUS.
Hi Gordon, will add to the list. Thanks for the suggestion and stay tuned!
lol, first Duran Duran was way more Commercial. The Killers front man Brandon Flowers loves Depeche Mode but he is not the baritone that Dave Gahan is. This band has been in my heart since I first saw them on MTV in 1985 with People Are People. This song was released in 2023, 42 years after their first album. It is my favorite on their Memento More Album which contains some other greats like Ghosts Again and Wagging Tongue. They're top songs, and I would recommend reacting to live performances, Enjoy the Silence, Personal Jesus, Walking in My Shoes, Never Let Me Down Again, Everything Counts, Black Celebration, and Halo. But they have so many more to explore. 14 studio albums full of wonder!
Hi John, thanks for the suggestions! Please comment it on my community post so I don't forget!
i like pure dark, this is not but near.
Interesting, I hear ya.
You know David Bowie and DuranDuran but not Depeche Mode? Does not compute... but glad that you will find out about a new sonic universe.
I thought I didn't but I saw some songs from them in my 80's playlist, so they were with me all along! haha
He just read that Bowie was one of dM's greatest idols and that the Killers like Depeche Mode. ;-)
All your heroes admire Depeche Mode lol...if you have an 80s list without DM thats super funny😂...DM invented the 80s
I was going through my 80's playlist the other day and found them there and was surprised, wasn't aware they had been here for that long, but like I said in the video I got 80's vibes.
George they have all range of tipe of songs, since calm (waiting for the night, litle 15, somebody, etc), to rock/tecn ( I feel you), just need to ear all albuns :))
I hear ya, will be checking out more from them soon so stay tuned!
Your interpretation of her latest song is very interesting and accurate. I like it very much. Thanks a lot.
But I’m surprised that you don’t have Depeche Mode on your radar. One of the biggest 80s bands that were always ahead of their time and inspired many bands and shaped genres.
Especially one of the very few bands from the 80s that still have a lot of importance even after such a long time to this day. And not only mourn their previous successes and perform their past hits in any 80s revival shows play back.
DM still fill the largest arenas today. They are currently on a world tour
Hi Michael, glad you enjoyed! I'm surprised as well, but looking through my 90's playlist I found them there so I guess I have heard them, just didn't remember the name, I feel like it's not mentioned a lot. Will check out more from them soon, stay tuned!
It‘s De-pesh Mode. They are electronic music legends. Check them out, tons of fantastic songs. Btw The Killers were heavily influenced by Depeche Mode.
I‘d recommend Only when I lose myself, Wrong or Never let me down again for your next reaction.
Interesting, I think I see a little bit of them in The Killers. Added those suggestions to my list, stay tuned!
Type in search Depeche mode and one letter first song that comes out you react
Lol I guess I could try that
@@GeorgeTheCloud
I'm not joking, will be funny but i guarantee you it's gonna be a good song
Anyone else think George looks like the Modes Alan Wilder circa 1990?
Never gotten that one before!
I fell in love with these guys when I was 13 in 1982.
Oh wow, long time ago!
(Depeche Mode - Useless) Please 🙌🙌
Hi Alexis, will add to the list, thanks for the suggestion. Stay tuned!
