Bought a Profitec Pro 700 with a Ceado C37J grinder in late September from WLL and I love them both. I've made some really good shots after I've dialed in the grind (doing that really does make a difference). I drink two different drinks primarily (lattes on weekend and long blacks during the week). I discovered that two different blends of coffee are better suited for each drink drinks from the roaster I use (Caffe Ladro in Seattle - Diablo for the long black and House Espresso for the latte). But the good news I guess is that keeps me on my toes and forces me to dial in every time I have to switch the coffee so it keeps me making the best coffee possible. Only downside of owning these is my coffee consumption is WAY UP. Thanks WLL for all the video reviews and advice and all the chats and phone calls when I was trying to decide which machine to buy.
Hi David, Thanks for the detailed comment and your patronage! Just to be clear, I believe your grinder is an E37J: www.wholelattelove.com/products/ceado-e37-j-electronic-coffee-grinder-in-black The Pro 700 is a fine machine and pairs well with Ceado grinders featuring burrs at 64mm or larger. Dialing in as you have found is crucial to get the best from any coffee. I run into a lot of people who set and forget their grind size - they're missing out! You are welcome for reviews and advice. We do our best to help everyone regardless of their skill level! Marc
Hi Marc, my favourite Whole Latte Love video each year :) Since talking with you over the last 12 months, as you know, I bought the Pro 600 and then the Ceado E37J. There was nothing in it for you guys since I live in New Zealand and can't purchase from Whole Latte Love. Such great advice and I love my machine and grinder. Cheers to you Marc. You're a bloody good guy :)
Hey Craig, Thanks a whole latte for the comment and sharing your love of your Pro 600 and Ceado grinder! Makes no difference to me where someone lives I just like helping people. Marc
Recently found your channel. Love your videos. Very helpful. Mark you must be or have been a radio personality with perfect delivery and golden pipes. You're World class presenter and speaker for sure.
Hey v, Wow, thank you! Some years ago I was a "house" VO talent for local TV. House means you're already on the payroll for other work and get paid nothing for the voice. Must have read thousands of commercials etc. Guess all that practice finally paid off. Marc
Dear Marc, Not only does it make things exciting, it's also wonderful seeing your passion for what you love. Your knowledge and personality touches us all and makes our lives blissful. I wish more people in their line of work would be as passionate as you. Your channel recently found me and already I'm blown away by so much. Thank God for blessing the world with you. Thank you Marc for being who you are. I'll be binge watching for the next week. Lol. Take care and stay safe brother.
Another awesome video. Thanks to the advise on your videos I recently upgraded my rocket appartamento to an ECM Synchronika. Nothing against the rocket it was an awesome little machine and a great step in my home coffee journey but the ECM Synchronika is truly an end game dream machine. The build quality is superb, its truly a beautiful machine and paired with whisper silent operation and steam power that seems capable to make a whirlpool in a bathtub I couldn't be happier with my purchase. Fitted with flow control and partnered with an e65s grinder I have been using your flow control profile recipes and I am making truly beautiful coffee at home (I might be biased but I think better than what I can get from a lot of cafes). Living in Australia that says a lot for the quality of coffee the Synchronika can produce. Keep up the awesome videos (especially the flow control recipes if you come up with more profiles) and finally if you ever feel like opening a shop in Australia that would be much appreciated 🙂
I went from a little Saecco to an Expobar Level and I thought that was a huge step up, but 4 months ago I got the Synchronika, and that was a game-changer in my espresso. I love the ECM. Unfortunately, I have been waiting since March for parts from WLL to fix my Expobar so I can sell it.
Hey Marc, great video as always, thanks. How does the matrix compare with the pro700 or ECM sync - is the build quality as good? Is the boiler material as good? Thanks in advance
@7:20 I like very much how in this machine the look of the _Flow Control_ barometer matches the two other ones on the machine ;-) That is exactly what I am waiting for with the current _Synchronika_ look…
Hi VS, Well, it's a not a dual boiler. Look for it in our 2022 top 5 favorite heat-exchange boiler machines video dropping soon! Hint, it's in there! Marc
It would be great to see a summary table of comparison results at the end of such reviews! Or you can leave a link to access this table in Google Drive for everyone.
You've got me really tempted to get the Matrix MN as an upgrade from my current Sage/Breville Barista Express. Love the option to set a power on time so its warmed up ready for when I get out of bed
if you want to turn it on at a specific time, you'd be better getting a wifi controlled smart switch. That way you can turn it on from bed if you wake early or on the way home remotely so it's ready for when you want it
Hi Marc. Love your videos. Great production value. Debating on getting a ECM Synchronika Espresso Machine With Flow Control and maybe a Ceado E37SD grinder or a Crem ONE DUO-V with a Eureka Oro Mignon Single Dose Grinder. I didn't see the normal bundle discount on the Ceado E37SD grinder when paired with the Synchonika. Not sure if the discount is not available for that espresso machine or if the website coders forgot to add the discount. I'm a newbie and probably don't yet have the discerning taste buds as others. I like quality products that I can grow to appreciate. However, I'm not sure if I'm jumping too deep in the pool before learning how to swim.
Hi David, Thanks for your patience and your kind comment! Also, thanks for bringing the missing bundle discount on the grinder to our attention. If you call in, a member of our sales team can assist you with that. If you appreciate quality products, the Synchronika and Ceado grinder are the top of the line. Start there and you'll likely never experience "upgraditis"! Are you jumping in deep? Perhaps. But higher-end equipment is more consistent so it's easier to use than lower-end gear. Hard to quantify the importance of increased consistency to a particular user and whether it makes financial sense to pay more for a "better" product as everyone's situation, desires and taste buds are different. Hope that helps! Marc
Mark, if I'm not mistaken the entry level dual boilers in this video have vibrating pumps. I have had a single boiler for years, the Silvia with a PID I installed myself, and have been considering going to double boiler. Should I be going with rotary pumps? My initial thought is, if I'm gonna spend significant money to upgrade the machine, seems to me I should be going for rotary pump. I'm guessing besides being quieter the rotary would last much longer than vibration? Your thoughts always appreciated. thx
Hey mr x, Thanks for the question. Rotary pumps are quieter than vibration and long term more reliable. Thing is, if you ever had a vibration pump fail they are very easy to replace and inexpensive. There are some other benefits with a rotary pump. Most machines using them are plumbable direct to water line. ECM and Profitec machines with rotary pumps can do line pressure pre-infusion when plumbed. Setting brew pressure is usually easier with the adjustment accessible from outside the maachine. In majority of vibe pump machines one must remove the case to access the OPV to adjust brew pressure. Rotary pump machines have of unencumbered brew water flow rates of ~10-11g/s while vibe pumps usually run at ~7-8g/s. Higher flow rates can be beneficial for some coffees. Marc
I spent a lot of time on whole latte love site reviewing all the whole latte line of espresso machines I have actually purchased two machines from Whole latte love and both times I took their advice and was not sorry I bought a Gaggia Classic and it lasted me seven years and it still works and I've maintained adapt according to what they say now I've upgraded to a profitec pro 700 with flow control and it's an amazing machine thank you Marc and Todd One more thing if I may I definitely suggest buying the filtration system for the for this machine it's an excellent it gives me line infusion pressure and really increase the flavors in my coffee thanks again Marc and Todd
Hi GL, Thanks for the question. Well, only had 5 slots for machines it would be in here if 6 slots. The QM Vetrano Design is an excellent machine and a good value. Check out my in-depth overview video of the machine here: ruclips.net/video/jCMB_jU3lh4/видео.html Marc
Great overview as always Marc. I have the ECM Synchronika and it is a lovely machine and highly capable. There are a handful of things that I think ECM could do to bring it to that next level. Mine came from the factory pulling shots at around 10 bar at the group. Pulling this back to 8.5-9 made a world of difference. Definitely going to want to upgrade the group gasket to silicone as the rubber stock will get sticky after 6m. The bottom of the drip tray lid is quite sharp, which seems a missed opportunity given how much you handle it and how great the finish is elsewhere. And finally I think it needs some rubber over the runners where the drip tray sits on the machine or else it rattles. All small things that don’t effect the amazing performance (except the brew pressure!). At this price point I think they are super small inexpensive improvements that really just finish the product perfectly! Great machine regardless.
Hey BD, Thanks for the comments! Not sure where you purchased your machine but we prep all our Synchronikas to 8.5 bar brew pressure with blind filter running from reservoir. That'll get you about 9 bar when running from plumbed in line. The silicone gasket is a nice upgrade and as you mention the stock gasket will have to be replaced at some point anyway. The drip tray supports do have the stainless slides. I have not experienced rattling from those - could it be coming from elsewhere? The machines we ship have a butterfly bolt holding down the motor to prevent shipping damage. It's a butterfly bolt under the machine - many customers miss the instructions to remove that. Leaving it in causes extra vibration as it compresses the rubber motor mounts. Marc
@@Wholelattelovepage hey thanks Marc! I should have mentioned that I didn’t purchase from WLL as I don’t live the States! Some good pointers on the butterfly nut. Cheers
Hi Don, That's an amazing price on the Pro 700! I'd take it for sure. The ECM Synchronika is essentially identical to the Pro 700 internally. The difference is in the finishing detail of the machine. The Synchronika has lever operated joystick valves, custom taper to the E61 group head, angled portafilters and more refined casework. Marc

Hey Marc, in your intro you say all of the machines are made in Italy… the thing is out of the 5 machines 4 of them are made in Germany… Profitec and ECM are made in Heidelberg, about 40 min drive from where I live…
Hi JB, Thanks for the comment. Today you are correct. This video was made more than a year ago as Profitec/ECM moved assembly of machines in video from outside Milan, Italy to Germany. Marc
Hey Alex, Yes we can. In order to make that happen it would be best to phone or chat in your order. When placing the order let the sales rep know you want your machine setup to 9 bar and have them place that info in the shipping notes. I should mention that manufacturers like Rocket Espresso and Bezzera tend to set the OPV to 10-11 bar in order to provide a proper brew water flow rate in vibration pump machines like the Appartamento. If you do not like the 9 bar setting you could adjust yourself. It's a little tricky to do as the machine has to be opened up to make the change and the Appartamento does not have a brew pressure gauge. If you are considering the Apparatmento you might be interested in a video I posted today with our top 5 favorite heat exchange boiler machines of 2021. The Appartamento is in the list. Also covered in the video are the the Quick Mill Arnos which has PID, externally adjustable brew pressure and brew pressure gauge. The ECM Mechanika V Slim is in the video and it also has externally adjustable brew pressure and a brew pressure gauge. Both those machines are about the same price as the Apartamento. Watch the video here: ruclips.net/video/c1aLovDKXYA/видео.html Hope that helps! Marc
Could you touch upon the reason why the crem one nor Alex Duetto 4 plus didn’t make the list? I hear very variable stories on the maintenance of ECM machines ….. making that a possible deal breaker for me. Thx!
Hi Mark, i watched your review of the Pro 700 vs Lelit Bianca and can definitely see the difference in build quality between the two. Would you say the Pro 600 is also of the same build quality as the Pro 700 or is the 700 a step up? Thanks.
Hi J, Thanks for the question. The 600 and 700 are very similar in build quality. Major differences between the 2 are larger boilers, plumbability and rotary pump in the 700 vs vibration pump in the 600. If interested, here's an internal component tour video of the Pro 600: ruclips.net/video/DWiLYoNZYag/видео.html Marc
Hey Marc, I am asking this question here, because I was watching your video comparing the 700 Pro with the Lelit Bianca, and at the end of the video you state that if we have any questions, to comment and ask below. However the comments are turned off for that video. Why is that? I see that all your other videos have comments turned on.
Hi David, While none of these machines carry an NSF rating for commercial use they are capable. Using commercially would depend upon your local requirements. I'd lean to the Profitec Pro 700 or ECM Synchronika. They are essentially identical internally and feature best in class steaming power so you can crank out the milk drinks faster. Also highly reliable machines! Hope that helps! Marc
Hi Flyboy, Thanks for the comment. Totally understand your desire for pricing mentions in the vidoe. Problem is the prices change and this video could be around for awhile. There are links in the video description to all the machines with current pricing as well as special offers. At the moment most all of the machines do have some special offers! Marc
I have a Jura S8 but now I find myself fascinated by all the user controls of the Profitec 700 and ECM Synchronika. I love the flow control, the dual boiler and the rotary pump etc. Do you think there would be too much of a learning curve going from a automatic machine to a totally manual one?
Hi BB, Sounds like someone is considering coming over to the artsy hobbyist side of espresso! Compared to the convenience of super-automatic machines there is a learning curve to more manual espresso preparation. It's not a perfect analogy, but semi-automatic espresso is a bit like baking. One has to get to know their equipment, control variables and also develop skills in coffee dosing, puck prep and milk frothing. None of those are rocket science but it does take some practice to be consistently successful. Most important is dialing in the grind size. Here's a video which covers that process: ruclips.net/video/jOY7D02n4Cw/видео.html For more exposure here's an excellent video on milk frothing for beginners which takes you right through to pouring latte art: ruclips.net/video/4PSCsv7kcKA/видео.html Watch those videos and if your comfortable with the techniques chances are you'll do fine! Hope that helps! Marc
Hi Sammy, Assuming your choice is between the ECM Synchronika and Profitec Pro 700? If so, know those machines are essentially identical internally with same specs for boiler size, steam pressure, etc. Difference is the finishing quality. The Synchronhika is a bit more refined with added details like chromed tips on levers and portafilters, angled PF's, lever/joystick activated valves, tapered E61 group head. Potential espresso quality is identical for these machines. Profitec and ECM are sister companies - similar to a Toyota and Lexus relationship. Hope that helps! Marc
I am all about the espresso. I very rarely stem milk. Currently I have a Breville duo temp pro. What machine would you recommend on the prosumer level with espresso as the main consideration?
True, i got the Matrix to. One thing i dont like is the drip tray, there’s water coming out the botem side when the machine releases pressure. Dont you have the same problem?
@@dekkers5854 mine is plumbed in and I haven’t faced that issue you mentioned. Well, there’s always a drop here and there but it’s the same on all prosumer home machines even on a Mini or R60. How bad is the splash with yours?
@@annenominous7220 well I had a 2017 Mini, which had no pid and to be honest was a bit of a whim😅 it’s pretty, well built and reliable, has a Marzocco badge but is very expensive for a limited control on your extraction. Trading an old Mini and spend again a ridiculous amount of money for a new Mini would have been stupid. So I ended up making what I think is a smart choice : selling my non pid Mini to cover the price of a brand new Matrix. Bezzera has a solid reputation and very reliable group, and the Matrix came with everything I was looking for and even more control and customization I thought it had. Now if I had the connected Mini, I wouldn’t trade it for a Matrix.
Hi, first let me thank you for the very good video. I would have 2 questions: does the Profitec 700 has more steaming power than the ECM Synchronika? It has 1600W vs 1400W of power. Does tap water at 70 PPM is ok for these machines or we need RO water to avoid having to descale?
Patrice, I don’t have a comparison. But I own the Bezzera machine he mentions in the video and the steaming power is tremendous. It takes about ten seconds to steam milk, and that’s probably the same with both the Profitec and the ECM. The higher wattage may bring the water to temp faster (just a guess), but at least the four big machines here will have more than enough steam power. I don’t know about the small Profitec, but Marc probably knows.
Hi PM, Thanks for the kind comment and questions. The Pro 700 and Synchronika are essentially identical under the hood. The boilers are identical and both machines run the service/steam boiler at ~2 bar max pressure. 70ppm water is considered very soft and is unlikely to cause scale. Keep in mind TDS measures all dissolved solids so measures more than just calcium - the main culprit in scale. There are other water parameters like alkalinity and pH which play a role in determining scale potential. Pure zero TDS RO (or distilled) water should not be used in espresso machines. It's an incredibly good solvent - so good it can pull ions from metals causing corrosion. Beyond that, it over-extracts espresso causing bitter flavors and with no minerals taste is flat. Many commercial coffee shops do use RO systems to feed their espresso machines but they always re-mineralize water after RO treatment. Manufacturers of dual boiler machines recommend descaling only by a professional machine tech. The best option to protect equipment and flavor is to feed a machine with water which does not cause scale in the first place. For that use a filter using ion-exchange to replace calcium in water with magnesium. BWT has a number of ion-exchange filters which when used as directed provide the minerals needed for flavor but will not cause scale. Options include in-line plumbed in systems, pitcher filters and pad filters which drop in the reservoir. Marc
@Marshall Goldberg, Thanks for adding your experience with the Matrix. The 700 and Synchronika can reach a higher boiler pressure - for those newer to frothing they might want to turn down the temp a bit until they get technique down. The Pro 300 is a good steamer. It runs at a lower max pressure in a smaller boiler than the 700 and Synchronika so recovery will be slower after steaming large amounts of milk. Marc
For on/off, Wemo switch (wifi + timer plug) works great with Synchronika! Nothing like telling Siri to turn it on and off with your voice! From away from home!
A year ago I bought the Profitec Pro 700 from WLL and boy I love this machine. I don’t get all the hate this machine gets from Lelit owners. Both machines are great, you get some extras when you get the Lelit Bianca but that’s. In my eyes if you compare them side to side they’re almost the same. I wouldn’t mind own either of them. Good job Marc!
I think the Lelia Bianca fans would have a point if the machine was $300 cheaper in the US. In Australia, there is a sensible price spread between the Bianca, the 700 and the Synchronika. It should be the best way to get a full featured machine on a budget, but it is built like a 10 year machine, not a 20 year.
@@brittanybutler2211 The 700, Synchronika and Bianca are all dual boiler machines with 750-800ml brew boilers. You use around 60-80ml of hot water all up for each shot, so it can reheat the incoming water quickly. My Synchronika recovers temperature by the time I can grind and tamp the next shot.
Hi TR, Thanks for the question. All the machines in this video are hand assembled in Italy or Germany. The Breville is factory made in Asia and is best considered an appliance and not a machine. It uses proprietary components, lots of plastic parts and scores low in user serviceability. But, the Breville products pack in a lot of features for the price. Just have to keep in mind its anticipated lifespan is much shorter. If/when something goes wrong with the Breville user repair is generally not an option while the machine grade products are very repairable. Hope that helps! Marc
Hi DD, Givern the choice I'd take the Synchronika. You pay extra for the LM name IMO and I prefer the PID operation with clear indication of temperature. Beyond that the Snychronika is available with flow control of the E61 group which open up a lot of possibilities to fine tune extractions. Marc
Great video once again. Shame I could not buy my machine from you guys in the Netherlands. Would welcome another video about the best heat exchanger mschines. I went for the the ECM technica V.
A question please: How often would I need to send back a high-end prosumer expresso machine for service? I'm not good about dissembling, repairing and assembling back in one piece. Joe
I miss hear Lelit Bianca. In the price range that you have it’s one of the best choices for the money. Good quality boilers, PID, a lot of additional accessories and manual flow profiling level. All with additional walnut accents. I think that only ECM Synchronika could be better choice, but also pricier (in Europe, don’t know US prices)
Hi RM, Thanks for the request. We stuck to more consumer/home use oriented machines at reasonable price points for these selections. We do have content on the DAlla Corte Mina: ruclips.net/video/GvNAgSR_als/видео.html
I recently placed a pre-order for the Bezzera Due DE and am seriously considering calling to change to the ECM Synchronika. Does the ECM have a programmable on/off timer capability?
Hi Dave, Thanks for the question. The ECM Synchronika does not have programmable on time. It does have a programmable ECO mode which turns off the boilers and puts the machine in standby. ECO mode is programmable in 30 minute increments out to 600 minutes/10 hours after last extraction. Like other machines with a mechanical main power switch you can use something like a smart plug or appliance timer for programmable on/off capability. If you go that route be sure the timer is rated to handle the power draw of the Synchronika which is 11.6 amps (1400 watts) for North American version of the machine. Marc
@@Wholelattelovepage Good morning Marc and Thank You so much! I LOVE WLL and LYV (Love your videos)! I sent a message to the sale s team and will call them this morning to adjust my pre-order. I'm torn between the ECM Synch and QM Vetrano Design - I swear this is my final decision but one of them will be on it's way to me courtesy of WLL today. Thank You So Much Again!!
Marc - Just wanted to say that I will receive my new machine (Quick Mill Design) tomorrow and am super excited - I also want to make sure I give Tracy and Aaron both shout outs for their exceptional support in my experience reviewing and eventually ordering my new machine. It's been 16 years using an Isomac Venus and I'm so looking forward to what this machine will bring me. Thanks again!
Sadly I'm now commenting that I am canceling the order after an unbelievably terrible experience with 1.) having been shipped the wrong machine and 2.) being told I needed to return it for the right machine to be re-shipped (all that was missing were the wooden accents) then 3.) being misinformed (after I returned the wrong model) that the wooden accents are now backordered with no timeframe on returning to stock and that I could have kept the original incorrect version and they would have sent me the accents to self-install afterwards. I guess I could say 4.) the fact none of the 4 different customer service personnel I emailed and spoke with had a clue what the other was doing and being told it would ship "expedited" and still hasn't shipped. I thought this was going to be a home run experience and instead, it's been a complete strike out. Great videos - terrible customer support!
Hi CD, What's the question? Here's a video which may help covering the different types of bpoilers in espresso machines including limitations and advantages of various types: ruclips.net/video/OUywoRs4meY/видео.html Hope that helps! Marc
Hi Emmy, Thanks for the question. Not sure where you are but in US the Pro 700 was about the same price when this video was made. Both machines have similar capabilities but In our evaluation the Pro 700 has a superior build quality.
I love my Pro600, bought partially after the reviews on this channel, however I do find that the steam pressure drops off pretty fast, and sometimes I am really pushing it to finish warming the milk. I am just left feeling I wish I had gone for the pro 700 to get a larger steam boiler.
Hi BA, Thanks for the comment. While the 700 does have a larger steam boiler the 600 is a very respectable steamer. What temp are you running in your service boiler? For a few years now the 600 has had the capability to run at 270F. At that temp you should have no problem unless steaming large amounts of milk or going excessively hot. Marc
@@Wholelattelovepage thanks for the suggestion. I am running the steam boiler at 129 degrees c which if my maths is correct is close to that maximum. I guess I'll have to stop second guessing the machine and look at my technique instead..... 😉
Hallo Mark - my spouse and I have opened our Bed & Breakfast…only just and do now require a sensible solution for procuring an espresso machine - for light commercial use, which won’t immediately induce bankruptcy! Lol I have been doing a good bit of research but continue to be in a muddle as to which direction of machine - home or commercial machine, might suit my small business well. I’ve looked into rentals by partnering with coffee distributors but each has pushed what they have - mostly capsule or pods machines which I continue to be reluctant to commit to because of known plastic waste and fraught of putting an inferior espresso/cappuccino et al in front of a paying guest! Might a sage such as you have any advice? I’m keen to know of actual real options of producing a premium final product - many thanks for advance
Hi t, Thanks for the question. I'd stay away from the capsule and pod machines for your stated reasons. Going commercial or home/domestic use machine comes down to volume of drinks served. If you're in the 10-15 drinks per hour you should be able to use a more domestic oriented machine. Bezzera has some options that are commercially rated (NSF/ETL) that are relatively inexpensive. If you're in the US have a look at the Bezzera BZ13. It's an upgrade to their Crema machine available elsewhere: www.wholelattelove.com/collections/semi-automatic-espresso-machines/products/bezzera-bz13-de-rosso If you're anticipating higher volumes then you'd be better off with a commercial machine or at the least a plumbable dual boiler machine featured in this video. Hope that helps! Marc
@@Wholelattelovepage a great many thanks! Logistically, I shall have to make a choice in due-course. By what you say - I.e. - about quantity of beverages, I’m now categorically convinced that a commercial item would be entirely excessive and a bit costly too! Tho am deeply grateful for the tips, advice and brand/model suggestions, Mark - I shall have a look. Good on ‘ya! Keep well❤️
Hi Max, Thanks for the question. These machines are not NSF rated. Intended for home use, manufacturers generally do not pursue NSF rating. They could very well meet the requirements but the rating would add to the cost of the product. If you must have NSF rating the Crem One machines have it: www.wholelattelove.com/collections/semi-automatic-espresso-machines?_=pf&pf_v_brand=Crem As do some Bezzera Machines like the BZ13: www.wholelattelove.com/products/bezzera-bz13-pm Hope that helps! Marc
I sincerely mean this as a compliment, your voice reminds me of Phil Hartman. If I buy a machine from you, it's partially because I'm imagining Troy McClure selling it to me.
Hi SK, Thanks for the question. Yes the group is heated. Like all machines with an E61 brew group there's a constant flow of hot water out to the group from the boiler which heats the mass of metal. It's called a thermosiphon and driven by convection. Here's a video with cutaway boilers and E61 brew group which explains how that works: ruclips.net/video/OUywoRs4meY/видео.html Marc
Hi w, The BDB offers a lot but we classify as appliance grade product. Only considered machine grade products for this video. Appliance grade products tend to have lots of plastic, proprietary parts, low user repair-ability and assembly line manufacturing. Marc
@@ED-sg2zg I think the lelit mara X is an innovative, great machine. The Bianca, for what it costs in Europe, around 1700€, is miles ahead of other machines. in the US the Bianca goes for 3000 usd, which shifts the price/value ratio towards something close to other machines.
Love the wood accents on lelit. Just discovered it bc yeah they don’t carry it… can’t imagine getting anything but the synchronika when I upgrade from my commercial heat exchange behemoth but the lelit caught My eye
Do you think Bianca is better than ECM? what made you think that? Actually l am btw bianca and ecm and planning to buy before november discount finishes:(
How’s the shot capacity of the Profitec Pro 600? Someone said they had to pause for long heat up times when pulling half a dozen shots back to back (or trying to do them back to back) Is this the case? What are the limits?
Ok, I guess I’ll answer myself since I’ve bought the 600 now, :) As of yet the largest batch I’ve brewed in a row is 6 cappuccino’s but there was no sign of the machine needing time. The limiting factor is my workflow and not the machine.
Hi john, Well, ECM/Profitec is a German company with manufacturing in Germany and Italy. Most of their prosumer level machines are assembled in Italy. Here's my talk with CEO Michael Hauck at their manufacturing facility in Milan, Italy: ruclips.net/video/K0RI5rdz4Ww/видео.html Marc
@@Wholelattelovepage thanks very much Marc, this clarifies the matter. Maybe you can help with one other question: im considering the profitec pro 300 and pro 500. The 300 seems the better option: dual boiler and cheaper vs the 500 which is a HX machine ans also more expensive. Your thoughts?
Hi r, Yes, no BDB in this group. We stuck to what we consider true machines grade products. The BDB is a nice unit but more at the appliance end of the spectrum with lot's of plastic, proprietary parts and low user serviceability. Marc
As much as I want that 700 with flow control, the sticker shock is real. Apart from not having a rotary pump and no flow control option, is there anything about the 300 that would bum me out in the future? Also, is there enough clearance for a scale?
Hey squib, Synchronika is built in Milan, Italy. CEO of ECM is German and has manufacturing facilites in Germany where they make most of their grinders. 70s metal! Marc
Hi Andre, Thanks for the question. In general the more complex a machine is the more likely it will have an issue requiring service. Solenoid valves are a common problem area. Troubles with those are usually caused by water with high mineral content. Issues are preventable by treating/filtering water to a mineral level which is unlikely to cause scale. You want some minerals in the water for flavor, to prevent over-extraction and protect machines from corrosion. But, too many minerals will cause scale which can plug up components. Marc
I can't decide. Can I have all of them? I wish WLL offered financing. I will go to my grave with mountains of debt. I'd like to add a DB espresso machine to that debt.

Just to be clear, I believe your grinder is an E37J: www.wholelattelove.com/products/ceado-e37-j-electronic-coffee-grinder-in-black
The Pro 700 is a fine machine and pairs well with Ceado grinders featuring burrs at 64mm or larger. Dialing in as you have found is crucial to get the best from any coffee. I run into a lot of people who set and forget their grind size - they're missing out!
You are welcome for reviews and advice. We do our best to help everyone regardless of their skill level!

Dear Marc,
Not only does it make things exciting, it's also wonderful seeing your passion for what you love.

Hiya Marc.. that bezzera Matrix is a beauty!. Glad you have the ECM Synchronika in the top 5👍
Superbly done video, fun and informative, beautiful espresso machines, always look forward to the Whole Latte Love’s Top Five.

Hey Marc, great video as always, thanks. How does the matrix compare with the pro700 or ECM sync - is the build quality as good? Is the boiler material as good? Thanks in advance
Hi, thank you for the video.
One question; i heard you talking about profitec pro 300, automatic shut timer. Does that really exist? Thanks
@7:20 I like very much how in this machine the look of the _Flow Control_ barometer matches the two other ones on the machine ;-)
That is exactly what I am waiting for with the current _Synchronika_ look…
I bought the Synchronika about three years ago and its an incredible machine, I make the best espresso shots.
Interesting vid! Why was the profitec 500 pro not included?

Love the option to set a power on time so its warmed up ready for when I get out of bed
if you want to turn it on at a specific time, you'd be better getting a wifi controlled smart switch. That way you can turn it on from bed if you wake early or on the way home remotely so it's ready for when you want it
Love your videos Mark! I hope one day to get a ECM syncronica and a Ceado E37s...I feel like that would be an amazing combo! Just gotta save up!

ECM Synchronika is such a great machine!
Mark from whole latte love is the best.

Marc

Cheers
hey Mark, I love your videos, thank you. we have 50% off for the Profitic 700 here at at $1579, should I take it ? why ECM is better?
Marc
Just a quick question. If I were to buy the Rocket apartamento would you guys be able to set it to 9 bars max limit for me?
Watch the video here: ruclips.net/video/c1aLovDKXYA/видео.html

Thank you so much!
If interested, here's an internal component tour video of the Pro 600: ruclips.net/video/DWiLYoNZYag/видео.html

Just wondering which of these would work for a light traffic coffee trailer. Any response is appreciated. Thanks.

Can you make a review on lelit bianka v3 ?
Hi SR, Thanks for the request - will see what I can do.
Here's a video which covers that process: ruclips.net/video/jOY7D02n4Cw/видео.html
For more exposure here's an excellent video on milk frothing for beginners which takes you right through to pouring latte art: ruclips.net/video/4PSCsv7kcKA/видео.html

Hey Marc will you guys be receiving any more Bezzera dua mn? is there an upgrade or newer version coming?
Hi Marc, thanks for the review. I’m currently in a position to upgrade and torn between the ECM and Pro 700. Which and why? Cheers
The Matrix is amazing. Traded my Linea Mini to get one, just to tell how great it is.
Its not terrible, but for that price it shouldnt happen i gues. I fixed it with a straw and ductape on the back of the drip tray.
what do you like better, and worse, than the Mini? I am thinking of buying the mini or the matrix, have not seen any comparison reviews.

Great video, can you do one on the super autos so I can finally make up my mind? Lol
Ask and you shall receive! ruclips.net/video/ysndMubg4ds/видео.html
Marc

A year ago I bought the Profitec Pro 700 from WLL and boy I love this machine. I don’t get all the hate this machine gets from Lelit owners. Both machines are great, you get some extras when you get the Lelit Bianca but that’s. In my eyes if you compare them side to side they’re almost the same. I wouldn’t mind own either of them. Good job Marc!
Hi AP, Thanks for the comments and your patronage!
Marc
I think the Lelia Bianca fans would have a point if the machine was $300 cheaper in the US. In Australia, there is a sensible price spread between the Bianca, the 700 and the Synchronika. It should be the best way to get a full featured machine on a budget, but it is built like a 10 year machine, not a 20 year.
Can it handle back to back sh0ts?
@@brittanybutler2211 The 700, Synchronika and Bianca are all dual boiler machines with 750-800ml brew boilers. You use around 60-80ml of hot water all up for each shot, so it can reheat the incoming water quickly. My Synchronika recovers temperature by the time I can grind and tamp the next shot.
How does the breville dual boiler stack up against these machines?
Hi TR, Thanks for the question. All the machines in this video are hand assembled in Italy or Germany. The Breville is factory made in Asia and is best considered an appliance and not a machine. It uses proprietary components, lots of plastic parts and scores low in user serviceability. But, the Breville products pack in a lot of features for the price. Just have to keep in mind its anticipated lifespan is much shorter. If/when something goes wrong with the Breville user repair is generally not an option while the machine grade products are very repairable. Hope that helps!
Marc
What do you think of the La Marzocco Linea Mini? Was looking at that and then I saw the ECM Synchronika is cheaper and what you call a dream machine.
Hi DD, Givern the choice I'd take the Synchronika. You pay extra for the LM name IMO and I prefer the PID operation with clear indication of temperature. Beyond that the Snychronika is available with flow control of the E61 group which open up a lot of possibilities to fine tune extractions.

How does the Linea Mini stack up?
I miss hear Lelit Bianca. In the price range that you have it’s one of the best choices for the money. Good quality boilers, PID, a lot of additional accessories and manual flow profiling level. All with additional walnut accents. I think that only ECM Synchronika could be better choice, but also pricier (in Europe, don’t know US prices)
Hi A, Thanks for sharing your opinion. Here in the US pricing is similar to the Profitec Pro 700 which in our evaluation has superior build quality.
How about compare new machines for 2022 like Della Corte Mina, La Marzocco Linea Mini, and ACS Vesuvius Evo Leva?

Hi CD, What's the question? Here's a video which may help covering the different types of bpoilers in espresso machines including limitations and advantages of various types: ruclips.net/video/OUywoRs4meY/видео.html
Hope that helps!
Marc
Why not bianca lelit?
Hi Emmy, Thanks for the question. Not sure where you are but in US the Pro 700 was about the same price when this video was made. Both machines have similar capabilities but In our evaluation the Pro 700 has a superior build quality.
Many thanks! Detailed answers. Good job!
Glad you enjoyed it!
Marc
I have the same issues. I have my steam
Boiler at 270 and notice it drops to 262 quickly when I start steaming and it drops like 1/2 bar as well
Hallo Mark - my spouse and I have opened our Bed & Breakfast…only just and do now require a sensible solution for procuring an espresso machine - for light commercial use, which won’t immediately induce bankruptcy!
It's an upgrade to their Crema machine available elsewhere: www.wholelattelove.com/collections/semi-automatic-espresso-machines/products/bezzera-bz13-de-rosso
If you're anticipating higher volumes then you'd be better off with a commercial machine or at the least a plumbable dual boiler machine featured in this video.
Keep well❤️
Are all these machines NSF certified?
Hi Max, Thanks for the question. These machines are not NSF rated. Intended for home use, manufacturers generally do not pursue NSF rating. They could very well meet the requirements but the rating would add to the cost of the product. If you must have NSF rating the Crem One machines have it: www.wholelattelove.com/collections/semi-automatic-espresso-machines?_=pf&pf_v_brand=Crem
As do some Bezzera Machines like the BZ13: www.wholelattelove.com/products/bezzera-bz13-pm
Hope that helps!
Marc
I sincerely mean this as a compliment, your voice reminds me of Phil Hartman. If I buy a machine from you, it's partially because I'm imagining Troy McClure selling it to me.
Lol!
Nice video !!
Thank you! Cheers!
Marc
Is the ECM Synchronika grouphead heated in some way, or do you have to flow water through it to heat up?
Hi SK, Thanks for the question. Yes the group is heated. Like all machines with an E61 brew group there's a constant flow of hot water out to the group from the boiler which heats the mass of metal. It's called a thermosiphon and driven by convection. Here's a video with cutaway boilers and E61 brew group which explains how that works: ruclips.net/video/OUywoRs4meY/видео.html

@@Wholelattelovepage Thank you so much for the quick response. Can’t wait to order mine😍
Huuuuuge oversight not having the Lelit Bianca on any list of this type (whether you sell it or not 😉).
What about the Breville Dual Boiler?
Hi w, The BDB offers a lot but we classify as appliance grade product. Only considered machine grade products for this video. Appliance grade products tend to have lots of plastic, proprietary parts, low user repair-ability and assembly line manufacturing.
Marc
no lelit? oh yeah u guys don't sell lelit. solid choices either way :-)
Is letit better than these ones? what do you think?
@@ED-sg2zg I think the lelit mara X is an innovative, great machine. The Bianca, for what it costs in Europe, around 1700€, is miles ahead of other machines. in the US the Bianca goes for 3000 usd, which shifts the price/value ratio towards something close to other machines.
Love the wood accents on lelit. Just discovered it bc yeah they don’t carry it… can’t imagine getting anything but the synchronika when I upgrade from my commercial heat exchange behemoth but the lelit caught My eye
Bruh what about the crem profiler
You'd think it would be included considering they supportedly worked with manufacturers to design it.
No rocket?
Hi PS, Perhaps we'll see a Rocket in different category in future video.
Would definitely turn up for Marc’s heavy metal review as well!
Coming soon!
I would always prefer Lelit Bianca
Do you think Bianca is better than ECM? what made you think that? Actually l am btw bianca and ecm and planning to buy before november discount finishes:(
@@ED-sg2zg The Bianca is good value in many countries, but in the US it retails for the same price as the Profitech 700.
How’s the shot capacity of the Profitec Pro 600? Someone said they had to pause for long heat up times when pulling half a dozen shots back to back (or trying to do them back to back)
Is this the case? What are the limits?
🙄🤔
Ok, I guess I’ll answer myself since I’ve bought the 600 now, :)
As of yet the largest batch I’ve brewed in a row is 6 cappuccino’s but there was no sign of the machine needing time. The limiting factor is my workflow and not the machine.
Sweet bezzera
Correct me if I’m wrong, but aren’t both ECM and Profitec German machines, made in Bammental, Germany?
Hi john, Well, ECM/Profitec is a German company with manufacturing in Germany and Italy. Most of their prosumer level machines are assembled in Italy. Here's my talk with CEO Michael Hauck at their manufacturing facility in Milan, Italy: ruclips.net/video/K0RI5rdz4Ww/видео.html

Breville is also a very good option
No Breville Dual Boiler?
Hi r, Yes, no BDB in this group. We stuck to what we consider true machines grade products. The BDB is a nice unit but more at the appliance end of the spectrum with lot's of plastic, proprietary parts and low user serviceability.
Marc
As much as I want that 700 with flow control, the sticker shock is real. Apart from not having a rotary pump and no flow control option, is there anything about the 300 that would bum me out in the future? Also, is there enough clearance for a scale?
I thought the synchronika was designed and built in Germany. Isn’t that what the front badge says? Oh yeah, what do you prefer 70s or 80s heavy metal?
Hey squib, Synchronika is built in Milan, Italy. CEO of ECM is German and has manufacturing facilites in Germany where they make most of their grinders. 70s metal!
Marc
So which machines come in for service then?
Hi Andre, Thanks for the question. In general the more complex a machine is the more likely it will have an issue requiring service. Solenoid valves are a common problem area. Troubles with those are usually caused by water with high mineral content. Issues are preventable by treating/filtering water to a mineral level which is unlikely to cause scale. You want some minerals in the water for flavor, to prevent over-extraction and protect machines from corrosion. But, too many minerals will cause scale which can plug up components.
Marc
I guess Rocket left the building!! 😜
Hey M, We have more best of videos coming - maybe we'll see a Rocket in another category.
Marc
@@Wholelattelovepage thanks Marc. Love your videos. You guys are the best on RUclips.
What happened to EXPOBAR Brewtus??
Hey jjm, No longer sold in US market.
Marc
Expobar are modernising under the brand Crem One.
Wow would like to open Café with the name Whole Latte Love
Pro 300 would be my pick if I had $2k to drop on an espresso machine 😅
I can't decide. Can I have all of them?
I wish WLL offered financing. I will go to my grave with mountains of debt. I'd like to add a DB espresso machine to that debt.
Hey Billy, Lol! We do offer financing through Klarna right on the website.

@@Wholelattelovepage You know I need that "I make bad decisions" Synchrony credit card!
YAY, Marc!!!!
Hey Larry!

I love my syncronica.
Hey MdC, Thanks for sharing your love!

Of course Bianca is not included.
hey. why do you think it is not included? l am btw ECM and Letit Bianca but can not see Bianca a lot in comperisons. Do you have any information? which one should l choose?
Wow, I'd have thought the Silvia Pro would be here
This is become dangerously expensive….or….expensively dangerous… how many hobbies do I have now…bikes…coffee….
