How wonderful to live where you do I love seeing the wonderful buildings my husband and I have travelled on ships and seen 45 countries I am loving seeing you all on RUclips I live in Melbourne Australia we can't travel even to see grandchildren in two different states so frustrating but you all "doing it ourselves " Chateau Diaries" and several others make it easier I wish I had found you all in 2020 but I am catching up with it all thank you all
Good job Charles with your first time driving. Seeing Nati and Matie was a surprise. The town, Saint-Denis, is a suburb of Paris, France! That's why it's so beautiful.
This was my favorite video yet! The Chrystal ball shop was amazing, and the churches and other buildings were gorgeous! Oh, and I loved the father son driving lesson. Great job Anna and Ed.
Aretha's song 'Think' came to mind. " freedom, Freedom, FREEdom, FREEEEDOOOMMM!" 🥳🌞💝 Charles was just fabulous too. Hopefully he will be helping Ed fulltime cutting the grass soon.🥳👏🥳👏🥳👏
Anna, you have the most beautiful and expressive eyes that always light up when you are happy which seems to be most of the time. You have a kind positivity within you. We enjoy your videos and this one was superb!
What a lovely vlog...from the hilarious intro (Edd is quite the comedian!) to seeing people and the sights in Bordeaux...it really was a delightful breath of fresh air. And I must admit that hanging out with you and Edd and all your company more recently in all of the vlogs (including Stephanie's, Michael's and Marie's) has made me realize what a sweetie you are, Anna! I just want to hug you! ❤️
Thank you for filming in Bdx, I've never been there. The buildings in the centre are huge. Their scale remind me somewhat of Florence. Obviously both towns were aiming to show their wealth and grandeur.
I love this video Anna! This made me very nostalgic. My husband is from the outskirts of Paris and for our honeymoon (43 years ago!!!) we went to France and Spain to visit family and friends. We stayed in Bordeaux overnight as we travelled south from Paris to Marseillan where my husband`s grandmother lived. We walked so much through this beautiful city! My husband bought me gorgeous, huge lily of the valley bouquet from a street vendor! (one of my fave flowers) We bought paté, cheese, baguette and of course delicious wine to have in our hotel room! It was amazing! It makes me want to go visit all over again. I was very young when I married (20!!) and I feel that I would appreciate France so much more now at my (mature!!) age! Wishing the very best life has to offer you both. Love your chateaux (mini and big one!) Hugs from Lorraine (outskirts of Montreal).
Loved looking at all the beautiful accessories in the shop . But the highlight of the video for me was Charles’s driving skills, on the straight and turning around. Congratulations on a super drive, Charles.
A super video. The crystal balls so beautiful and everything in the shop sold with such pride. Something missing here in Aus and certainly no shops like it. I too like another fan had tears of joy tinged with sadness. We lived 1 hours drive away and frequently visited Bordeaux. You certainly showed the beauty of it. Thank you. Lovely memories for me with my late husband.
Oh, my. I miss France so acutely. Your walkabout just about brought up memories so strong that I could smell and hear and taste. Thank you for the video.
OH thank you thank you for breathing fresh air into my day through your delightful vlog.... Charles experiencing a right of passage driving "solo" around the grounds and then on to a village coming back to life. We can't help but feel hopeful. ♥️ from 🇨🇦.
Edd and Anna, I believe that this vlog is the BEST one yet! You had adventure (driving with your son),guest(Michael) Chateau history and items hunting /shopping and just showing where you live. Thank you I learned a lot and had so much fun! Marie from Eden,NC
Oh my! I love that word, 'quincaillerie' much better than hardware shop. I distinctly remember my first year learning french in Huddersfield (48 years ago) drawing a 'quincaillerie' in my vocab book along with the boulangerie etc. etc. ha ha! Vive la France. Loving your vlog. Angela Johnson
I enjoyed the knob store you visited and found the history of some of the items fascinating. Anna, you are so gracious and kind and it shines through these vlogs. I always enjoy watching. 💕
It will be an epic night ! Michael is back at the chateau and before he went back we went looking for Crystal balls 🔮 and we make Billy jealous on the way 😂❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️
Another fantastic video! Anna, your so gracious and every word that comes out of your mouth is so encouraging and uplifting. I’m going to try to speak to people in an “Anna way” I think it will make everyone feel happier and better about themselves. ❤️
Hello! Your vlogs transport to France which I love! Your Chateau is absolutely beautiful and it was wonderful to see Stephanie, Michael and the rest of the Lalanders all together! So happy that you are all friends and that you support one another. Looking forward to more wonderful French countryside videos. Thank you! 💜
The hardware shop was awesome, Love all the detail on the Knobs and so much more artistic and fun then the mass produced junk they put in houses today. thanks for showing us.
The cathedral looks lovely! It was covered in scaffolding when I was there! The shopkeeper was so nice to explain things to you (and us all). That is one of the things I love about France. The pride and willingness to share from the specialty shopkeepers. Congrats to Charles on his first drive! We all remember that special moment in our lives -- I am sure he will always remember, as well!
Perth Western Australia is the place to be no Covid, no restrictions and no masks life is normal. We are so fortunate. I really love your videos, they are very interesting and fun to watch. Your family are very sweet and Ed is very talented at restorations and repairs, you are a lucky girl just like me as my husband also comes from Manchester and immigrated to Perth Western Australia, Australia when he was 7 years old and it’s wonderful to live here as I have done all my life but we do not have any Chateaus and I adore old things, antiques and history so thank you for such a wonderful look at your lifestyle. I have been to Paris on holiday but we did not do any of the countryside of France unfortunately but please keep up with your video channel as I am addicted. 👍🙂
Thank you Ed & Anna for another great vlog. Lovely to see father & son bonding over driving. It’s great teaching a young boy responsibility at a young age. You both are great parents. Absolutely love the shop with all the bibs & bobs for doors, windows & staircases. Enjoy the lifting of restrictions & keep safe.❤️

Dear Anna and Ed. I am so impressed with your own castle with the renovations you are doing, what a fantastic quality it will be. At the same time, I get so sad when I hear that you need to sell it when it's ready. I really hope it will work out in a better way. Hope your business will generate good income for you. Keeps thumbs up that it goes well. run greetings Marianne
Such a delightful group of people you all are. So enjoyable that shop was. WOW! Wonderful to see all that one can purchase if you only know where! Anna your calm demeanour makes me feel in such a relaxed mode. Something I truly need. Hugs from 🇨🇦🤗🤗
Lovely to see you all again. I love all your Vlogs! Charles’s driving was great! He's such a cutie! Thank you for sharing your life! Hugs from Washington State, USA

Thank you so much Brandi ❤️ Charles loved learning to drive ! I am so glad Edd is teaching him 🥰❤️ Thank you so much for watching the other vlogs and your kind words it means a lot ❤️❤️❤️❤️
I just love the old door handles.. So many beautiful things in that store.. ( The glass door though at the store.. It needs work. Sounds like it is going to fall off.. lol.. Makes an awful noise when you open it..) That huge church is just stunning.. Wow.. Big churches and Abbey's are my favourite things to see. So many nice old buildings there in Bordeaux.. A lovely tour of the city.... Cheers to the first drink at a pub this season.. Some good driving there Charles.. Fun times with dad..
Another wonderful vlog. So nice seeing you having a wonderful time with Michael and seeing so many people outside enjoying the day. Very special seeing Charles driving for the first time. Thank you for sharing.
Lovely vlog, the hardware shop had so many beautiful things. You said it well with your remark about how wonderful it is to see people out again. So wonderful that people are still wearing masks and being respectful of others.💖😊💖🏰
Thanks for the wonderful day outside. I got a little teary eyes on the last minute and a half when you paned the plaza and I saw so many people outside it was tears of joy to see them. Finally we are back to "normal". Take care you guys and girls!
I so enjoyed this!!! I watched the wine tasting video in the caves - and my ears alerted to the Pillitteri Estate Winery!! Niagara-on-the-Lake is a favourite place of ours to visit several times a year! We live close by! Next time we drop by Pillitteri, I’ll say hello!! :-)
Its such a pleasure to hear you speaking french...my mom and oldest sibling were from Grenoble France and they spoke French all the time but they didn't make an effort to teach me. I so regret it. I was the only one born in the USA so I didn't learn. Brings fond memories though...
Fantastic video Ed and Anna. Loved Ed’s humorous intro about having no content since Stephanie & Michael’s visits. :-) And thanks for the tour of the beautiful hardware shop and the amazing buildings of Bordeaux. I can’t wait for Europe to open up again, so that we have the freedom to travel around France again. Look forward to your next video ❤️
What a beautiful day for an outing and filming. I enjoyed it very much! So nice to see your country opening up again. All so beautiful. Thank you! 👍🏼❤️🇺🇸
This was such a delightful episode! I would have been like a kid in a candy store amongst all that hardware! Anna, I love how you are such a gracious host and you treat Michael (and Ryan when he was there) as if they are your brothers. Charles seemed to have such good fun driving with his dad, and I imagine him ripping all over the property in just a few years!
🇨🇦❤️Thank you for sharing your day out and about with us, Anna and Edd. Congratulations to Charles on his first driving experience. I’m sure it will feel like no time at all has passed before Emma will be doing the same thing, and perhaps Charles will be driving his own car by then! (If he saves his money, he’ll be able to drive himself to that shop to buy that suit of armour that he wants). Michaels return is a reason to celebrate and I hope you get the opportunity to visit the Château de la Basmaignée sometime soon. If it wasn’t for Michael, I wouldn’t have been able to enjoy your channel, along with Sadie and Shaun’s and all the other lovely people he calls his friends. Hopefully, you’ll be able to have the Pethericks over for a pool party this summer. Thanks again, Anna!
Thank you so much lovely Vera for your kindness and lovely words :) we are so proud of Charles he will be a great driver and i love that he wasn't scared , soon he can take little Emma to walks :) He said tonight that he wanted to save money to buy a car lol :) he is only 6 but such a sweetheart He would love a suit of armour and i can just imagine his joy if he ever has one for kids . We are so lucky that Michael is back and to see him back at Basmaignée is such a joy ! We can't wait to go there and see Gwen , Billy , Ernest and the whole family x x x x Sending lots of love your way Anna x x x
Oh, my.... The craftsmanship of the past is absolutely amazing! Stunning! Thank you for sharing with us. It must be amazing to be surrounded with such history.
Thank you for taking us on your shopping trip. The Cathedral is Amazing. The music was very dreamy and bought back a nostalgic feeling of another life. 🙏
We enjoy your vlogs so much. It was great to see portions of Bordeaux again. We have visited there twice from the U.S and it’s one of our favorite cities in Europe. We spent all our time just walking around and enjoying the architecture, although during our last visit, we got a tour of the opera house and got to see a view of the city from the terrace there. We also like the walk along the river with the fountain at the Place de la Bourse and the Napoleon bridge. That was a nice clip with Charlie driving and a glimpse of Emma. Always happy to see them.
Thank you for sharing your experience with your fans... Anna, you are a darling...please share more food ideas and wine choices. You are so elegant and beautiful, teach us how to cook the classics..
Seeing Charles driving was so sweet he absolutely loved it Thank you so much for this video Anna The hardware shop was just so beautiful and the crystal globes for the staircase was soo gorgeous Bordeaux is just so amazing thank you 💗💗💗
Had to pop back on and watch the video again lol. 1st, Kuddos to Edd for letting Charles drive! I'm sure that made his YEAR! lol. Also really enjoyed the little cameo appearance of beautiful Emma & her precious curls lol. Just too cute! But, that shop was PHENOMINAL!!! Can you add the name of the shop or their website into the description please? You all are so very Blessed to live in an area with just sooooo much historical architecture & craftsmanship! I love being an American in America. However, the USA is still a relatively young country. Unless of course you visit the Grand Canyon or the Mayan ruins. But as far as anyone keeping track or architecture, we don't have a whole lot. I will say though, that over the last few decades, there has been a real boom in trying to save & restore a lot of what we do have. So there has been a surge in saving structures with historical value. Especially those of the Victorian Era. But to be able to walk around and appreciate Medieval craftsmanship is just awe inspiring.

Awesome Quincaillerie shop, thank you for sharing 🙏🏻
How wonderful for a child to grow up in the countryside of France driving about and learning amazing life skills. Lovely
I got teary-eyed (happy tears) seeing so many people outside enjoying the outdoors and loving life!! 🥂🥳🤩
Ours have been open, just rescinded masks...so I went to the canyon for the tram ride...only thing...you have to wear a mask on the tram!!!lol
To see people's noses again is glorious!!
A delight, so happy...
@@charleswalker1185 it makes no sense but I imagine hard to make decisions for a situation that's never happened before! Each day will be better.
The day we can see eachothers smiles again, than we are truly free. Mask are are a token of supression, nothing more, nothing less.
Such a beautiful city with the historic buildings. I’m fascinated with all things old.
Anna, you are truly a beautiful person with a sweet spirit.

Congratulations to Charles on his first driving experience. I’m sure it will feel like no time at all has passed before Emma will be doing the same thing, and perhaps Charles will be driving his own car by then!

Lovely day- wish I was there.
Seeing Charles driving was so sweet he absolutely loved it

Nice to see folks out and about again
