  • The video shows our roadtrip in La Palma:
    1st day:
We spent whole day moving from Vienna to La Palma . From Tenerife South airport, we took buses number 10 and 20 to get to Tenerife North. You can buy prepaid card in TFS for bus tickets or pay by card in bus (more expensive). From TFN, we moved to La Palma by propeller plane (Air Canary). Finally, we picked up the car and moved to booking.
    2nd day:
We spent half a day in the capital city - Santa Cruz de La Palma (beach, architecture, viewpoint (Mirador de la Concepción)). We also visited church beyond the city (Santuario de Nuestra Señora de las Nieves). If you have time, there are other options such as vertical zoo (Maroparque) and Naval Museum. After that, we moved to the west part of the island - Mirador El Time & Mirador del Acandilado del Time (we walked between them). I highly recommend visiting the second mentioned viewpoint (top view to Puerto de Tazacorte). When we came back to car, we moved to parking near Playa de La Veta. The beach is not so good for swimming (stones), but rather for the cliffs. A steep and narrow road leads to the parking lot, so not suitable for unexperienced drivers. The path from parking lot to the beach is 1 km long with 104 meters elevation. At the end of the, we moved to the top of Island - Roque de los Muchachos. You can't go directly to the top, since there is an observatory with a ban on entry by car, so you have to stop 4 km before viewpoint. There are many viewpoints along the way, so we stopped at a few of them (not shown in the video, because it was already quite dark). Finally, we waited for the night and watched the stars (visited in February and it was cold (2426 meters altitude, so take warm cloths)).
    3rd day:
We visited Porís de Candelaria and surroundings. Again, road for the cars to the lower parking lot is pretty steep. Nevertheless, it is worthy to visit this place. We started with the viewpoint near the upper parking lot (Mirador Panorámico de Morro de las Salinas). After that, we continued to the village (bay) and finally we hiked to the viewpoint above the bay. From the lower parking lot, it is 2.2 km with 300 m elevation approximately. There is another viewpoint on the next cliff (Mirador del Barranco de Jurado), but we skipped it since that's another 5 km and 450 m elevation. We moved to Puerto de Tazacorte for lunch and swimming in the sea. Then, we visited Tazacorte (bananas are everywhere). You can walk from the village to beach (viewpoint) - Playa Nueva (Mirador en Tazacorte) - through the banana fields (1 km, no elevation). From banana world, we moved to national park Caldera de Taburiente - Mirador de la Cumbrecita | Mirador de los Roques | Mirador Lomo de las Chozas | Pico Bejenao (1854 m). If you want to go up by the car, don't forget to make a reservation (limited space for cars). There are several options for hiking - roundtrip to the viewpoints (3 km | 175 m elevation) or you can extend it up to the Pico Bejenao. I can recommend the second options, since there are unforgettable views. The complete hike to the Bejenao and back is 11.5 km with 680 meters elevation.

    4th day:
We devoted this day to the south part of the La Palma. In the morning, we moved to the Volcán de San Antonio (opens from 9 am | 8 euro per adult). In addition to the beautiful views, you can try the earthquake simulator, sundial, and more. After volcano, we moved to Salinas de Fuencaliente (lighthouse, salt pans, beach). The entry is for free. From there, we moved to Cueva de Las Palomas with the stop for swimming (Playa de Echentive). Near this beach, there should be the thermal spring (Fuente Santa), but it's just closed building. In Cueva de Las Palomas, you can buy ticket to enter the cave and to the viewpoint (12e together per adult). The cave is small room where the guide talks about volcanic matters. (you will also see the short documentary film about volcano eruption in 2022). After cave inspection, you can go to the viewpoint - you will see how the lava flowed in 2022 plus the sea views. In midafternoon, I started the Volcano train (18.3 km | 685 meters of elevation). I started from Refugio El Pilar and followed the way to the village Los Canarios. On the way, there are a lot of interesting places (Cráter del Hoyo Negro | Pico Nambroque (1922 m) | Mirador de Duraznero | Deseada (1933 m) | Mirador Volcan de Martin). I can highly recommend this trail, since it is completely different landscapes compare with the rest of Europe.
