I'm moving with my couple to La Gomera for work, and these video inspire me so much and give me so many desires of growing over there, thank you so much
You will have a great time I think, it is still well connected if you want to hop over to Tenerife or the other islands by ship (or plane). The weather is probably as good as it gets on this planet, not too hot and never cold. Have a good stay on La Gomera!
We’re a couple from Paris planning a mini-moon trip to Tenerife and La Gomera and your video was honestly by far the most illustrative, instructive and beautiful we’ve found on La Gomera so far. Wonderful job!
Thank you 🙏for your kind words. We were so glad to be able to go there and explore! For the outdoors and a getaway from the people, La Gomera can't be beat. Currently the hiking trails are very quiet. On some days we didn't see anyone else. We will be back, met some great people on Gomera. It's a very laid back Hippy-kind-of place. If you haven't been to Tenerife, of course, you must go. So much to explore! :)
Nice to see this video, me and my friend took our car and drove to La Laja for a walk and eight at the restaurant you recommended today, so this video was great help for us today :)
Good morning, great to hear that you went to the little restaurant! We accidentally found La Laja when checking the hiking app. We're on Tenerife now, so overcrowded compared to La Gomera! Enjoy your stay
Hoping to learn how to sail soon, just passed my coastal cruiser navigation exams in Germany and now need to get my 300 miles of experience. La Gomera must be a great place to sail to!
@@RestlessRoamers Good for you!!!! Sailing offers a life time of unbelievable experiences!! Actually, cannot wait to go back and visit all the islands, as well as tackle the Mediterranean!!
I know La Gomera very well and I love this island! I‘ve been there very often and I miss it! Your video is the best I‘ve ever seen! Everything you‘re telling about the island is true! Thank you very much and greetings from Germany 🙋♀️❤️
You should! I alway's put it off and regret it. Coming back to Tenerife from La Gomera is like a shock :) La Gomera is just so quaint, remote and isolated!
Thank you for your comment 🎈We had a great time! Too many people miss it and go to Tenerife and it's bigger sisters - but maybe that makes Gomera so great, the lack of infrastructure & mass tourism.
Really fantastic, wish I could have some right now! We didn't hear anyone with it, I think some people are keeping the language alive on the island. It's very interesting but it makes sense when looking at the terrain on this island. A citrus hand press pretty much, with many deep gorges.
Hi Frank, yes mostly American's that dodged the draft during the Vietnam war we read. Spain apparently had no treaty with the US, so the hippies could avoid being drafted. La Gomera still has a bit of that feel, very similar to some parts in Hawaii. La Gomera and the other Canarian islands were the gateway to the new world - what an impact, almost 600 Million Spanish speakers in the world today!
The blue house in Hermigua is the perfect place to stay for two people. Very nice large garden where you were allowed to pick fresh mangos, bananas, papayas and passion fruits from the trees. From the house it's a very nice hike to Playa de la Caleta (beach). Beautiful scenery.
Wish we would have come in the summer for the fruits. When we were there it was winter and everything was still very small or didnt grow yet on the trees.
One of the best drone videos I've seen so far on La Gomera, but I would comment that Laurisilva subtropical rain forests and cloud forests are also found on La Palma, North Tenerife, El Hierro, and some surviving remanences in Gran Canaria, basically the western islands in general. All the best!
Ah dam, I repeated someone else's comment. So let me add another 10 pence... La Gomera is not technically a former Guanche kingdom, the Island was never fully conquered due to indigenouse rebellions, and some locals still celebrate their independence today via folk tradition and celebration! La Gomera enjoys the highest rates of indeginouse ancestry on the entire archipelago. Some of their folk music is very african in origin, and they still preserve many Guanche traditions and methods. All the best!
This was a very nicely done video with some amazing views of the island. One thing though...the info about laurasilva rainforests was wrong. La gomera and madeira are not the only places where they are found. There are a lot of those trees in tenerife, la palma and also although not as much due to heavy deforestation in gran canaria. Maybe also in el hierro. They are also found in the azores. I have never visited la gomera but have lived in gran canaria and tenerife and now live on la palma. I can see a lot of laurasilva trees here.
Good morning, thank you for your comment. Gomera is really nice. You're correct, we should've said Madeira and La Gomera have the most significant tree population remaining today. We hiked through Anaga in Tenerife yesterday, there are still so many as well.
@@RestlessRoamers yes, Anaga is great for that. You can find laurasilva forests in several places in tenerife such as parque lomo la jara near agua garcia, around mirador el asomadero and chinajiga retkipaikka next to los realejos and on the other end or side of the island in parque de teno around the water mountain trail. I think that you would like la palma too. Its the least deforested and the best naturally preserved of the canary islands. Pretty much the entire island is green and there are so many laurasilva rainforests here.
Spent a memorable week courting in La Gomera years ago...... still have the perfectly round deep black basalt pebles that I brought back. Thanks for your beautiful video
Best drone video I found from La Gomera. I also flew there with drones early 2022 but only in the North since most of the Island is NFZ (no fly zone). As I go back there soon, I wanted to ask you how you managed to get the authorizations to fly close from the airport ( in CTR) and in the national park. Thanks to let me know.
Hi guys! Loved this video. Is there a way we could use some of the shots - and credit you for them, of course - in a video we're working on? Couldn't find a way to reach out directly.
Thanks to your videos about La Gomera I am planning to be there this spring, maybe second half of April. When exactly have you been there? It is full of greenery, is it maybe the peak of spring time? :) Awesome video! ;)
Super informative video, thanks for putting it together. Quick question though - I thought you weren’t allowed to fly drones in national parks in Spain? If you can then that’s excellent as I’d love to get some similarly beautiful footage when I visit later in the year!
Thanks for your comment. I checked again in La Gomera and the National park map has been widened, so I would probably not fly over the park. You can get excellent shots outside of the National Park boundary, only the very top of Gomera is the National Park. On Google Maps you can see the green shaded areas. La Palma is the least restrictive and Teneriffe is quite difficult as well.
You cannot fly a drone in many places, also not in the national parks, unless you have a permit. We stayed at the blue house in Hermigua, flying there is allowed as far as I know, but many locals won't appreciate it if you fly there as we noticed ;-)
ithink you guys should check permition to fly with drone. I'm quite sure part of this video it's done in an area where its not permitted to fly with drone, as there is an airport quite close and nobody could fly in an area of some kilometers, but probably you know it better then me. excellents images by the way ;)
Very nice video, and absolutely breathtakingly beautiful island, which I would love to visit or even move to. Christoffer Columbus discovered nothing though. First of all, The Americas were long inhabited. Second of all, many European nations had also long been in the Americas, as for instance the Vikings, who at least for sure had settlements in Iceland, Greenland and New Foundland as early as 950 AC. They also Christianized the entire North at that time and they were Christianized by the only church, which had power then. They also did trade with the Catholics and Rome, so what a BS story the story about Christoffer Columbus all is.
Horrible music on a outstanding, marvellous video. Why do you do that? It must have taken so much work to create it. And then you add such a mess to it. I don't understand it.
I've changed the music on recent videos. It all has to be licenced, otherwise RUclips mutes the entire video and it ends up being a lot more work. So the choices are fairly limited. Hope you otherwise enjoyed the video. Gruss aus DE nach DE
