I've got single double and triple black diamond down here in New Mexico going to be interesting to see how that set up would handle like certain Rock scenarios in sections while also seeing how efficient it would climb up hills go run some errands but happy mashing to anybody who gets out
Delamere forest was good fun but lee and cragg quarry was awesome fun on my Brooklyn machine works "big air" full sus bmx from 2001 I had a bit more travel than your's but only had a rear v brake so there was a lot of full speed drifting 🤣
This is my dream bike. I grew up riding bmx, im trying to get back into riding but hate riding multi gear mountain bikes. Does anybody wanna let me hold $2k for one of these bad boys?
As a semigood BMXer who bought his first MTB last August at the age of 40 , I really enjoyed watching you having the reverse experience in the last episodes.
I have one of these and it's a lot of fun. It's definitely a niche bike and certainly no replacement for my full suspension mountain bike or my regular BMX bike. But It is fun to ride at the local dirt jump park and do some urban riding on. I actually got an S&M Long Johnson post so I can raise the seat to ride it to spots and then lower it when I want to shred. I actually wish it didn't have a built in seat post clamp so I could put the S&M QR clamp on it. The bike is a blast!
I’ve dreamed about a build like this for 15+ years but wasn’t willing to build it up starting with a kids full sus frame. I’m so stoked to see it exist in real life 😊 love it!
This would be brilliant with a hub motor. You don't need pedaling efficiency with a motor, so the 20" compact size would be a lot more fun. Plus the small wheel would gear down a hub motor so it can climb hills like a beast. Most of the big 2kW+ ones are geared for 80km/h on a 29" wheel, so you'd get down to a much more reasonable 55km/h.
would love to see more BMX crossover on the channel, and more of this bike. Josh Dove be ripping on his Canyon. Dan Paley making some of the biggest moves from Battle of Hastings to Darkfest.
Just bought a 1981 Kuwahara BMX. Needs work, but I really just bought it for nostalgia. Its almost all there, except for the wheels. Since the bike is far from mint condition, Im thinking maybe do a retro-mod with it. One thought I'd had was big oversized disc brakes, but where would I get 20" wheels already built? I watch GCN and GMBN and have been noticing most new products reviewed on these channels are not that novel, or have already been done. This is the most different new bike mash up Ive seen in years. Looks fun. Ive actually ridden a vintage GT BMX bike up, then down an MTB trail in the Canadian Rocky Mountains. I was just showing off, but man, my wrists hurt. This was close to 30 yrs ago. I grinded up that mountain. Unfortunately, the ride down was a grind as well. I can see some younger, smaller riders, as well as adults shredding the wheels off this We The People.
Its not easy to get disk brake hubs for BMX, especially in Europe. The only hub available is a Eclat Exile disk brake hub, and that one sells out pretty often. Source has them right now and offer wheel builds as well. You're more likely to fit a 140mm disk, as you won't have space on the chainstays for much larger with most frames.
Awesome mate! I've a bmx that I converted to an electric bike because I ve always liked riding bmx because compact and agile. putting my electric components on this to get full suspension would be perfect! Keep rolling mate! 👍😎👍🚲
Haha! So much joy and terror! The taller you are over...say 5'6", the sketchier it gets. They should make a DJ scaled BMX with full sus and at least 24" wheels.
I think there needs to be a not for points but for a cash purse extra lap on the last world cup event of the season, ridden on this thing. Imagine all the downhillers competing for 10k or something on that bike. Would be mental and the most fun race to watch of the season. Also, Blake should take that bike to Hardline.
I ride bmx/street mainly and that twitchyness in the woods is what I dream of. I've been wanting to buy one of these but I'll have to wait a couple months at least... Also wethepeople, for those of you who don't know, is a very quality and reputable bmx company.
Those bikes are so fun. One local dude has one he let's us all give it a go. Those kenda tires are complete trash though he swapped to some 20inch maxxis minions
its like Bmx but with added safety with the suspension which opens up riding bike parks on A bmx.. had to ditch the front brake though as its lethal plus feels more bmx with just a back brake!
My friend had a Matthews monoshock bmxer back in the 70s. No fork though. My Yamaha motobike had front and rear suspension but was a tank and had cotter pin cranks which were hard to keep tight
I would love to see a small mtb company like Starling make the mtb version of this bike. This was developed by BMXers looking to go into Mtb. Now someone do the reverse. I'm talking longer and slacker. Small wheels for maximum fun factor, but give it some proper chainstay length and a slack(ish) headangle, maybe a little more top tube and see how that improves handling at higher speeds. Pretty sure the main fun factor here are the small wheels, so something like an off-road capable race BMX should be an absolute blast!
Blake, I 💗 yr enthusiasm , and the way you say "Haar" for "here". I think you changed your life when you met Martyn and got the perfect job. Then when you and Neil go touring I just 💗 it 👍 My GMBN dream team you Martyn + Neil But BMX is BMX and MTB is MTB .... I think the cross overs are getting silly , like they ran out of ideas to make a $
Dread the day if Mr Samson ever leaves GMBN. Will never be the same if he did. I like the other guys but this dude just lights up everything he shoots.
Needs Enduro Upgrades, 12 speed or so, dropper post, tubeless and if possible even more aggressive tires. This things awesome, seems more like a 20 inch slopestyle bike though.
i wouldve worked my entire childhood away if we had one of these back in '06. We had to build our own bikes from others that were scrap, we had mongoose/razer/xgames/walmart special frankenstien bmx bikes that we would sky on. i never thought to use a 20' mountain bike frame with bmx bars and shit. that wouldve been cool.
Always stuck harsh knobbles on my BMX and used it to keep up with mates on MTB 😅 I have both ATM (dh orange patriot and mongoose pro subject) I think it's definitely more of a rush on BMX 😂
I have the wethepeople audio 22 and I love it. This swamp bike is too short for me. I am 2 meters tall. I can't ride on big stones, but I like to ride the audio in the woods. Singlespeed, no breaks, but a lot of fun
Ted James is a UK frame builder and makes these frames. Deathpack have also made one but decided not to put it into production. It all stems from Ruben Alcantara and Garrett Byrnes.
I really wish Ruben would've made a non-Ti version. I would love to support him and Fingers Crossed respectively but have a hard time justifying paying nearly 3k for the frame. That's literally just a the frame, rear triangle and BB bearings.
I've had my swampmaster for a few months now and it is definitely a wild ride. I can hit decently big drops with my street bike and almost double it with the swampmaster. although I have had the same problem with the tire punctures. I just threw some higher pressure kenda slant 6s on there and it rides like a dream.
What trails would you like to try on the full-suspension BMX? Let us know in the comments below!
A wood feature trail would be sick, also throw some pegs on it and try out some urban terrain
I've got single double and triple black diamond down here in New Mexico going to be interesting to see how that set up would handle like certain Rock scenarios in sections while also seeing how efficient it would climb up hills go run some errands but happy mashing to anybody who gets out
Is it too predictable/mean to say A-line?
Delamere forest was good fun but lee and cragg quarry was awesome fun on my Brooklyn machine works "big air" full sus bmx from 2001 I had a bit more travel than your's but only had a rear v brake so there was a lot of full speed drifting 🤣
the little ones at elan valley would suit this down to a tee
I actually ride a swampmaster and it is sooo much fun! And best of all, everyone in the Park looks at you! It‘s a supernice for me
Don't bs kid

That thing is the best hybrid yet. Now the gravel bike has a little friend.
