Barn Owls Can Be Very Affectionate!

- Barn Owls generally bond and mate for life. They can be very affectionate and will allopreen (preen the feathers of their mate) as a part of their bonding. This behavior begins at (0:16).
Athena and Adonis began daytime roosting in their house yesterday. It appears the next reproduction season has begun.
WELCOME TO OUR OWL HOUSE, HOME TO BARN OWLS ATHENA AND ADONIS!
We are located in a semi-rural region of north coastal San Diego County in California(PST). This is our second year (2025) to Live Stream as Athena and Adonis raise a family of Owlets. Last year 5 Owls successfully fledged.
With the use of IR lighting, not visible to human or owl eyes, the Barn Owls can be observed 24 hours a day. Our improved streaming system can now stream 3 views in HD, which allows us to see the parents care for the Owlets and observe as they come and go in search of prey.
Barn Owls tend to be most active hunting after dusk and before dawn.

@@kenn1936 Thanks kenn! Yes, we improved clarity and added a view of the deck, as well as a more wide angle to allow us to watch the owls come and go. If you go to videos, you can actually watch Adonis follow a challenger and chase him away from the house and Athena. That would not have been possible previously with our set-up.
