Iracing and monster could literally just copy this game and modernize it and I would never play another game in my life…….I love this damn game so much
Mate I’m the same!! Grew up playing this game(and dirt track racing 1&2), and when I got my bald in the new WoO game I was quite disappointed in the lack of damage compared to this game and the fact the in car camera is so far forward you sitting in front of the steering wheel basically and there is nothing in the cockpit, no gauges not even a wheel. This game needs a remaster!
My favourite game of all time, still turn on the PS2 and play it from time to time, with a night of playing the game now becoming my New Year’s Eve tradition
Try Tony Stewart's Sprint Cars on Xbox/Playstation. Makes so much fun and the career is good. You can improve your cars. It is worth the 20$ in my opinion.
This was my FAVORITE game growing up, probably because my dad worked as a crew chief in the World of Outlaws. He actually worked on one of Sammy Swindell's cars when he drove the #83 Beef Packers car for Roth. His knickname is Slammin' Sammy by the way, a bit of a bruiser on the racetrack.
I remember road to Knoxville game more but now has a 21 year old who loves going to my local racetrack. I would love to buy a ps2 and grab a couple of older games I remember. Man time flies by you when your younger.
Ratbag did dirt racing right ive loved everyone of the dirt track games still pick them up anytime i run across them wish someone would go back to pick up where they left off and bring them to newer consoles
I've always praised this game. This is one of the games that ushered my young mind into one of the more technical sides of racing games. I was highly upset when I purchased a PS3 Sprint car game and it was below mediocre. The physics didn't feel good, all the ruts and marks on the ground was just carpeting. It just sucked.
I have so many good memories with this game like when me and my dad were doing split screen and we kept throwing sliders in each corner for the win and I one keep in mind I was 7
I played the hell out of this game back in the day, this game sparked my love for the World Of Outlaws series and also I've been watching this series ever since I was a kid.
I have real life grudges against certain drivers that bumped me in career mode of this game! Looking at you Jac Haudenschild! But I have to disagree, the difficulty of the career mode felt earned and realistic. It dunks you in with some early easy local series, then lets you run against the Outlaws just so you see the speed difference! I think it was designed to show you how far you have to go to compete with the best. You are suppose to come in last place against the Outlaws the first time you run against them.
My only complaint with career mode, and I feel every racing game today has this problem, is you make money too fast. And you are fully upgraded a year and half in
One of the reasons why the sprint cars race at night is because the fuel they use is alcohol the dampness and the temperature determines how well the fuel will run
Used to hammer this on PC with my Logitech Momo wheel set. Great memories. Then I went real world racing but those days are now gone. Just bought a G923 setup and about to go iRacing - fun times ahead!
I 100% AGREE!! I OWN THAT TITLE.. I still have it.. 15yrs later!! I use to play it alot on Friday, Saturday Nights... The Good 'ole times! Real Fun and Simple to Run -Josh A. Cyr (From Maine)
i do remember i had a game very similar to this made by rat track i think it was called like saturday night speedway or somthing like that … chicks stomach on the cover with car keys in the middle of her belly button
5:04 About the “no restarts” thing, I wanna know why most sim racing games did that back in the day, like yea it’s realistic, but it’s frustrating as hell, in my opinion😅 I’ve never played the game, but it sounds and looks fun as hell:)Hope I can get it in the future:)
Haha you are not wrong! I like being given the option at least... Especially when things happen like controller disconnections or you accidently unpause or something😅
Lol. I can't stand Sammy Swindell. I personally like Jac Haudenschild and Joey Saldana. With this aside, this game was the very first video game I ever played. I was 3 when it came out and was 5 when I started playing. I'm gonna look at ebay to see if there's a nice disc of this game on there. One thing you'll notice is that Tyler Walker is dominant as an AI on this game. Walker, in real life, was pretty good but he wasn't Godly. I still stand it's because he was sponsored by Ratbag; World Of Outlaws Sprintcars 2002's game developer. Speaking of Ratbag, Saturday Night Speedway was another classic, although I prefer WOO2002 just a little more.
I know you could still play it on a computer today which leads me to another question. How do you get it on pc. been playing when I was very little with my dad
this was one amazing game, played the crap out of this one, actually played on my desktop, and the keyboard, tried steering wheel but did better with keyboard
Ive played this my whole life and playing it now. And I bet my entire life nobody can match me. I have perfected this entire game by every cubic inch and there's nothing I did not accomplish on this game. It's so bad I make up my own goals and beat those too. And those goals are impossible to this game. Right now I'm chasing the pro championship in a 10,000 car with the engine upgrade lmao nobody can do that.
cool game unfortunately real world winning that much money to keep upgrading your car is not how it works ….. more like you start out with a lower end car finish middle of the pack take home $60 paycheck when it’s over lose a few hundred $ during the night go back to work fix some shit that you found broken on the car and repeat all over for next weeks $60 check lolol $350 if you win
Iracing and monster could literally just copy this game and modernize it and I would never play another game in my life…….I love this damn game so much
It's coming, this September!
Boy do I have news for you
not on pc just play station
Just got the 2022 World of Outlaws this week and I’m hooked. It’s the most challenging and one of the most fun racing games I’ve ever played.
Mate I’m the same!! New one is coming out in September

I still have this game I purchased it 20 years ago.

This game STILL holds up super well today. Incredible sprint car game
Couldn't agree more!
This games career mode reminds me so much of dirt to daytona
This game and the PC "Dirt Racing World of Outlaws Sprint Cars" game were 2 of my favorites growing up. So good.

Still playing the old version in 2022 !
One of the reasons why the sprint cars race at night is because the fuel they use is alcohol the dampness and the temperature determines how well the fuel will run
You seriously said sprint cars are like nascar 😂
It needs to have great damage, not just a few debts. These cars get absolutely thrashed in real life accidents.
Used to hammer this on PC with my Logitech Momo wheel set. Great memories. Then I went real world racing but those days are now gone. Just bought a G923 setup and about to go iRacing - fun times ahead!
Oh boy, you're in for it with that dirt community 😂
If I've already got Road to Knoxville and Showdown at Eldora, how does this compare? Worth picking up a copy?
yep, been saying this game is why current single player games in most titles miss a trick. I have this on my PC and all works fine, great vid BTW
Dean
You have to check out, Saturday night Speedway.
I 100% AGREE!!
I OWN THAT TITLE..
I still have it.. 15yrs later!!
I use to play it alot on Friday, Saturday Nights...
The Good 'ole times!
Real Fun and Simple to Run

That game on PC for me is was pretty good! It was challenging to start out with!
I loved this game back in the day and still now
This aged well with the new world of outlaws game that came out
Best game ever made!!
Fantastic game with many hours of enjoyment back in the day. Still remember when I beat the big guns as a local hero.
to me the best sprint car game so far
Don’t get me started on stalls? They don’t have a clutch it’s a direct drive so if you go to slow it will die. Hit the breaks to hard it will die.
Rynogt4 is currently doing a playthrough of this game which is pretty cool
I had this game by ratbag a great game
Nice look back at a classic game! Check out Viper Racing next from NASCAR Heat devs Monster Games.
I agree..I played the hell outta this game
So many memories of yeeting the car out of 1 and 2 at Lernerville accidental or not lol
It’s nothing like NASCAR
No but if you can race a sprint car the skills learned can easily transfer to NASCAR.
This game was so fun.
looks like we are back with pentium iii
i do remember i had a game very similar to this made by rat track i think it was called like saturday night speedway or somthing like that … chicks stomach on the cover with car keys in the middle of her belly button
So question I play this game just about daily how did you get your graphics to look so good mine looks like it’s stuck in 2002 😂😂
5:04 About the “no restarts” thing, I wanna know why most sim racing games did that back in the day, like yea it’s realistic, but it’s frustrating as hell, in my opinion😅
I’ve never played the game, but it sounds and looks fun as hell:)Hope I can get it in the future:)

I've played thru this game many times winning every trophy you can. Going thru it again. Great drinking game.
I played countless hours of this game.
Tony Stewart
All American racing is GOOD!
SO MANY TRACKS , I NEVER HEARD OF .
from Idaho to California and everywhere.
Try it out on steam
its bad WoO 2002 is 200x better
you never heard of those tracks because they are fictional, and that game sucks

They need to make wrecks more realistic, and it will already be a better game than the previous ones
Dirt racing 2 is also a fantastic game!
Agreed!
Love that game. Great game even today
I put in hundreds of hours on this game lol. If I had a PS2 I'd fire it up right now! Best racing game on console hands down.
I know you could still play it on a computer today which leads me to another question. How do you get it on pc. been playing when I was very little with my dad
this was one amazing game, played the crap out of this one, actually played on my desktop, and the keyboard, tried steering wheel but did better with keyboard
Just try Dirt to Daytona
such a great game
If the 2022 game dosent at minimum replicate the 2002 version it will flop
Anyone know where to get mods for this game ? Would like to mod it and see what I could make
i’ve found a way to get it for free on pc and it even supports online multiplayer
Ahead of it's time
Tony Stewart Sprint car racing rules.
The new one had eh damage wish it was better
Ive played this my whole life and playing it now. And I bet my entire life nobody can match me. I have perfected this entire game by every cubic inch and there's nothing I did not accomplish on this game. It's so bad I make up my own goals and beat those too. Right now I'm chasing the pro championship in a 10,000 car with the engine upgrade lmao nobody can do that.
Have you won the world of outlaws championship with real damage on, in car view and no resets?
@@keithkuder7879 I've done in car view for the entire season and won. Resets are not an option in career mode. And damage is always on.
cool game unfortunately real world winning that much money to keep upgrading your car is not how it works ….. more like you start out with a lower end car finish middle of the pack take home $60 paycheck when it’s over lose a few hundred $ during the night go back to work fix some shit that you found broken on the car and repeat all over for next weeks $60 check lolol $350 if you win
I dunno I still prefer FIM speedway grand Prix 15
Dirt Track Racing Sprint cars was alot better. and 2 years earlier.
Isn't this just the PS2 port of that?
