These comparisons are always so enjoyable and well done. I applaud you for doing these long 'one-take' style demos. I have a TL as my main delay. The Strymon stuff is just so unreal sounding. These are very similar, but definitely different flavors. The Volante has more of that high-end 'drip' sound and the El Cap is more 'bodied'. The El Cap sounds almost dead-on to my 2-spring medium length, medium decay reverb tank. The Volante sounds like a long tank. Just my thoughts when comparing various actual spring reverbs.
Hey thanks so much for weighing in as compared to "real" spring reverbs! Which is your preference if you had to choose? Also, thanks so much for the words of affirmation in what we're doing here. Always great to get a pat on the back :)
Hey thanks so much for the comparison! I asked and you delivered! I was surprised to check RUclips again to see my wish came true! El cap v2 seems much for Hifi/Cleaner. Volante is definitely grittier/Lofi. They are a lot more different than I would have suspected!!!
You’re most welcome! Thanks for the suggestion! We’re happy to do such things when we can and this was a great idea! Yeah I thought they’d be more similar too. I totally get it that they’re not, but was a little surprised. It was a great thing to realize!
Many thanks for the great comparison video! I could watch it all the time. And I wouldn't have thought that the reverbs would sound so different in direct comparison. But both sound extremely good. But now the most important question of all about the feel: DOES IT HAVE THE REAL „DRIP"??? Which pedal has the more authentic spring-like attack when the reverb tail unfolds? Thank you very much!
Cool ! Something to keep in mind is that the Volante's Spring has a secondary ajustement for decay in the "Live Edit Functions". Apologies if this was mentioned and I wasn't paying attention. Cheers
El Capistan v2 is absolutely amazing sounding i have both pedals but the Volante is more versatile to dial in, on El Capistan anything after 11 o'clock is just to much but both are glorious
@AndrewMooreLearningLicks glad you found us! Ireland is such a beautiful part of the world! I plan to get the plug in so hopefully can have some comparisons on that front as well!
I run the Volante, and I do not see that the El Cap has the ability to adjust its reverb like the Volante does. I also I did not see you discuss where you had the Volante’s reverb setting at, or if you tried to match the reverb levels to each other. Can you add some clarity to where the Volante’s reverb decay was set at? That is, stock setting, 7 o’clock, 9 o’clock, 12 o’clock, 3 o’clock, 5 o’clock etc.? I would like to know if Volante covers the El Cap totally, or if they are as different as is being show here. Thanks for the video, btw.

Awesome. Would love to see your comparison on the delays too. Have the El Cap, but Volante is very tempting
I believe the el Cap has moved on but if we have it still would be glad to!

I’d say the Volante takes that prize. But they really are both very very good. Can’t lose either way!

That was not mentioned! Thanks for bringing it up!

Both are indeed glorious! I’m interested in seeing how the el Cap plug in compares to the pedal! Did you see Strymon just released that?
@@thepedalcollaborative I did yes, cannot wait to get it, I'm in Ireland 🇮🇪 saw this video on Facebook 👍🏼

You know, I left the Volante decay set to stock and forgot to mention anything about it. Terribly sorry about that
Volante
It’s a great choice!
