- Das Lied war ab 1879 bzw. 1890 die Landeshymne des Fürstentums Waldeck. English translation below. Die Hymne ist auch zu Beginn des 21. Jahrhunderts bei nahezu allen Einwohnern des Waldecker Lands bekannt und erklingt regelmäßig bei Festen. Die Melodie stammt von Benjamin Christoph Friedrich Rose (1755-1818), dem letzten Fürstlich Waldeckischen Musikdirektor der Hofkapelle. Sie erlangte 1879 den Status einer „waldeckischen Nationalhymne“, als für die Vermählung von Prinzessin Emma zu Waldeck und Pyrmont mit König Wilhelm III. der Niederlande eine Hymne benötigt wurde. Anlässlich der Bestattung von Königin Wilhelmina der Niederlande, der Tochter von Prinzessin Emma, im Jahre 1962 wurde es auch gespielt. Der Text zu dieser Melodie wurde von Pfarrer August Koch (1857-1934) im Jahr 1890 verfasst. Die Entstehung des Textes wird als Reaktion auf die Gründung von „Waldecker-Vereinen“ im Ruhrgebiet aufgefasst, da diesen eine Regionalhymne fehlte. Anekdotisch wird berichtet, dass Koch und einige Freunde auf einer Feier verspottet
wurden, weil sie kein Lied ihres Heimatlandes singen konnten. Koch soll sich das so zu Herzen genommen haben, dass er in der folgenden Woche anfing, selber ein Lied zu schreiben.

From 1879 and 1890, the song was the national anthem of the Principality of Waldeck. The hymn is known to almost all residents of the Waldecker Land at the beginning of the 21st century and is heard regularly at
festivals. It was written by Benjamin Christoph Friedrich Rose (1755-1818), the last princely Waldeck music director of the court band. The melody attained the status of a “Waldeck national anthem” in 1879, when
it was used for the marriage of Princess Emma of Waldeck and Pyrmont with King Wilhelm III of the Netherlands. It was also played on the occasion of the burial of Queen Wilhelmina of the Netherlands, the daughter of
Princess Emma, in 1962. The text for this melody was written by Pastor August Koch (1857-1934) in 1890. The creation of the text is seen as a reaction to the founding of "Waldecker clubs" in the Ruhr area, as they lacked a regional anthem. It is anecdotally reported that Koch and some friends were mocked at a party for not being able to sing a song from their home country. In the following week he began to write a song himself.
