I’ve always loved Mazzy Star so as such I’ve always also been very critical of artists covering their songs however......... Malenka in my opinion has done a very wonderful rendition of this song. Also the name “Malenka”, I believe it’s Eastern European, maybe Russian in origin? Supper cool name, love it.

Funnily enough I’ve ever been to America. This is Poland in the summer, near to where my grandpa lives :) it’s nice how landscapes far away from us seem to be able to invoke some deep sense of familiarity anyway :) I’d love to know what the land looked like during your drive
Beautiful rendition. So many covers try to turn what is a deeply introspective personal song into a rock ballad and it just doesn't work. This was lovely.

I’ve always loved Mazzy Star so as such I’ve always also been very critical of artists covering their songs however......... Malenka in my opinion has done a very wonderful rendition of this song. Also the name “Malenka”, I believe it’s Eastern European, maybe Russian in origin? Supper cool name, love it.
So glad you like it, thank you :) and yes, Malenka is a bit of a play on words - comes from my name (Lena or Lenka) and the Polish word “maleńka” which means something like “little one”, sometimes used affectionately a bit like the word “darling” too
