One of my favourite games of all time. Bringing the light update is the last update for the game and it’s really good. Introduced Curveballs which is game changing. Makes lethal mode doable if u switch it to positive curveballs. Some are hilarious.
Its really fun. Nightmare mode is hard as fuck, and I played it with zero boons, and legacy characters for 100 days. I averaged 6.66 deaths with a total of 15 deaths for my Hardcore Mode Rambo playthrough. It has cool Easter Eggs, and they still update it and keep it challenging and entertaining. With new modes, and challenges and bounties. As well as they listen to their community of loyal customers who play it. The only thing I miss is the gritty macabre feeling of the first one, and realism with named drugs.
I’ve 100% the game, if you can think of anything to do in the game, guaranteed you I’ve already done it. Got all achievements got all boons on all difficulties. Every weapon that’s feasibly possible to get without mods. On the topic of lethal tho. It gets much easier when you’ve played the game since launch. That allows you to study the game mechanics. Aldo bringing your top survivors help too😊.
i actually beat this game on lethal zone multiple times on multiple maps. i learned techniques from an fps game called valorant. reaching a high rank in that fps game teaches you a skill known as vod reviewing. i used that technique to determine effective practices and protocols for situations i might find myself in. there was nothing that i wouldnt have a solution for. eventually it got to the point where i quite literally can fight 3 ferals with a knife with no consumables. just the dodge key and a knife and REALLY meticulous key presses. i spent about a month evaluating situations and their solutions by the best players in the game. over the course of that month i clipped enough individual soultions to problems players ran into that they solved effectively. whenever i found myself in a situation i would alt tab into my folder where i save my clips and would watch the one that correlates with the situation ingame. this is how i could always never fall out of practice with the right executions and protocols whilst playing the game. im now at the stage where i dont ever need to alt tab to refresh the practices in my mind and i can do deathless runs on lethal. getting good at vod reviewing helps in all games where theres an underlying skillset required(every game ever)
That was one of my criticisms of the game. Once you’re playing on lethal you simply learn to manipulate the game quirks or bugs. Like I wish you could “clear” a place for awhile rather than seeing the zombies spawn right in front of you.
I played the first and second game, it has such great mechanics and visuals/gameplay of any zombie game I’ve played. The game is missing a core formula, something to take it over the edge so everything does not feel so repetitive.
The company is super woke, forced BLM and pro Clot Shot propaganda, that said it's developed into a good time over time, was rough at the start, but they have steadily improved on it year after year, the latest Curveball patch was kinda lame, but 6 years later they're still dropping what is basically free DLC.
As someone that has beaten this game on Lethal Zone with fresh characters multiples times, the number one tip I can give you is to not do to much to early, this game actually ramps up in difficulty and spawns more enemies after a certain point, so you want to avoid any unnecessary combat or missions at the start of a lethal zone game.
picked this game up sometime during the 2nd half of last year on PC first then later Xbox and ive been having a blast, especially since they're still updating it (with the last update coming later this year i believe) curveballs was a pretty cool update for me, freshened the world up a bit by making random events.
Also Kudos to the Soundtrack of this and the OG State of Decay. Jesper Kyd who composed for Assassin's Creed 2 etc. Beautiful Southern Goth, Acoustic Guitar etc. Haunting at times, perfect for the Games.
Good game. Really like the concept of this. You're thrown into a bubble of hell and you restart when u die. The game gets super immersive the more time you're alive.
It's awesome that besides the normal avaliable difficulty levels, you can customize the different aspects as you like. Enemy strenght and number, resources avaliabable, comunity prone to discuss or get along... For example, i like to play with very few resources (hardest difficulty possible) but i don't like the zombie difficult bar set to maximum, because it means zombies spawning all the time and leads to a excessive frustrating and exhausting experience. So i set it like in the "normal" or a litle higher maybe. So you can taylor the game as it better fits you As you said, this game is the closest i've found to the Walking Dead comunity simulator
Days Gone (PS5/PC version) is my favorite zombie game of all time, but we also have 2 Series X consoles so I have been wanting to try this but it’s hard when you don’t have much free time 😞😞😞
It’s one of my favorite games. I have beat it on lethal several times now. I just wish the game has more stories or relationships added. But I highly recommend this game. I been playing this game since 2018.
The stories you build through player experience is the currency of the game. You will always remember the first time you run out of fuel on the other side of the map from your base. At night. With no plague cure. 👍👍😎
I love State of Decay 1 a lot that I bought it for me and my brother to play together but to find out its not. Then hearing the second one will allow co-op I was so excited, but online serves where shit and the game lagged so bad even offline i just gave up on it. It's great to see someone talk about a game series that is really underrated, I'm just hoping that the third one is going to be awesome.
Played SoD2 until I got burned out. If you haven't played it, I totally recommend giving it a try. It's so fun, and knowing you can't get a character back if they die makes it so much more intense on harder difficulties.
It's my favorite zombie survival but had to quit it because of how stressful it is, it's not a Dark Souls type of stress but the game puts you in constant fight or flight mode. >You're constantly running low on meds and resources and as you progress the game spawns stronger and bigger hordes of enemies >There's not a single chill crafting/puzzle moment just choose your loadout and go out to gather resources while constantly being chased. >You're constantly bombarded with missions that are very high risk/high reward and all of them are a huge loss if you don't do them >You can't sleep through the night (doesn't seem like a big deal until you actually go out at night and find out) >You get punished for doing too well (Burglary, Loudness system that keeps you from being too productive) Don't get me wrong the combat system is one of the BEST in the genre and in gaming in general but yeah, gaming is supposed to be relaxing and challenging, not stressful
Try to reduce the zombie level. On CUSTOM difficulty. I understand what you mean. At certain point, difficulty only ads spawming zombies everywhere all the time, so you can't never catch a break. And that's not fun. A game has to have ups and downs. Can't stay up all the time. It's not a matter of skill. You have the skill to dispatch all those zombies. Is a matter of brain sanity :) About the mission bombarding, i've learned that is better to ignore the quests of comunities that are VERY FAR from you on the map. Becouse if you please them, and befriend them, they are going to give you even more quests, so you'll find yourself traveling all the time up and down on the map. wich is tedious, and time and resources consuming. So just ignore them, and they will eventualy stop calling you, and even totaly disapear from the map. In all the games there is a minimum/maximum neightbouring comunities. So if you ignore one beouse of being too far, a new one will spawn , and probably closer
I managed to beat it in lethal and unlock all lethal boons before the curveballs update dropped. I started it in tutorial in lethal, giving me 4 survivors and starting me off inside the first base with an infirmary already built and a Pilato SUV parked at the base. You do have less than 1 minute to put the infected survivor in the infirmary though or he/she turns. Then I just did everything slowly, you learn to be more patient in lethal, it's beatable but is very much is a slog to go through, felt more like a chore. After unlocking all the boons, I slunk back to my comfort zone dread.
Just back up and kill Zombies. Car doesn't take any damage if you back into them. All difficulties. Beat Lethal thanks to Brian Menard's guides. Lethal is now easy mode, stims + plague disruptor + heavy weapon and plague hearts stand 0 chance.
I fucking love sod2, amazing game, hoping sod3 will live up to the expectations. Only thing i hope they dont do is make sod3 be a woke, netflix character filled game. I like how it is rn, everyone is a pretty generic survivor (to zombie media standards) with traits giving them a backstory usually. Only wish there were more voice types, maybe sod3ll bring more accents, and expand where the game takes place, instead of only in the northwest us, maybe some maps in the south, in canada, or at more coastal areas, with a higher chance of finding people with specific voices in those maps. Im kinda just rambling now, so ima stop, sod2 good, hope sod3 is also good too
This is the only game I keep going back to. It’s easy to sink some hours into. How dope would it be to be able to create and name a character? SOD 2 is definitely in my top 10
Before i even watch the vid, ill say yes you should play. Even when it first came out, i played it a ton. Ive gone back several times after full play throughs, and enjoyed it each time. Im looking forward to state of decay 3 and hope they can find a balance between the first game and this one storywise. Because while i like the randomly generated chars, i wish for just a slightly more story driven experience. Like have these randomly generated chars, have slightly more in depth stories. Have deeper interactions and bonds between chars.
But also one problem id say is that i didnt like the multiplayer. I was hoping you could just have either two seperate independant communties with your friend, or be in the same one and have 4 of your own survivors. But its all owned by the maker of the lobby and you are basically just a helper to them. Its sad that you are also rubber banded to your friend, as exploring on your own while your friend is at base or doing there own mission, would have been way cooler imo.
Not gonna bother watching the video. The answer is YES you should play it! SoD 3 is on the horizon and I swear I remember seeing a scene hunting deer. I lied I'm gonna watch.

That's the thing I didn't like when I tried it - because I really wanted to like it and play it with my friends - you can't get invested in a single character because they die and then you have to play someone else, a real bummer. Also, this is not a true CO-OP which is why it kind of defeats the purpose for me because it seems like a perfect CO-OP game.
I haven’t watched the video yet so I’m not influenced. I played the hell out of SoD2 back in 2018-2019. Far from a perfect game, but it was fun and has replayability. One of the best zombie games ever frankly.
Forgot to mention the first game was marketed as having multiplayer which they never got around to. Also stopped playing the game mostly from dumb glitches like enemies spawning right on top of you or enemies getting stuck in unreachable areas, forgoing your time and the limited time you have in the game to do things.
State of decay 3.. either they'll finally drop the woke narrative, or they'll QUINTUPLE DOWN and add pronouns, randomizer for characters (low effort crap to pretend being DEI) like random option for characters gives you bearded females with purple eyebrows for example Change in-game percentage to have a like a 70% chance for females instead of males for new npcs (like Xcom used to have a 60-40 in favor of females, saved by the Patriarchy mod lol) (another ex) Sniper elite 5, 1942, first allies are a lesbian Black/white couple, then a group of french resistant, all black men and a few women. what a disgrace. i'm french, and that's such an insult.

if this game had a good story mode (I mean a really good story) then it would be up there with RE and SH. is fun, sure, but it gets boring really quick. I mean, what's the main goal? kill all the hearts? upgrading your community? then what? that's why when somebody talks about survival games, this game almost never came up.
I might have missed it, but why did you quit the game when you felt you were going to lose the fight? Did you become attached to you're characters? Were you afraid of losing all that hard work? You've also missed out on a new gameplay experience because you would have had to rise up all over again. What do you think?
This last update took that aspect of the game away. Zombies no longer despawn after quitting the game, so if your character is about to die, there's nothing you can do.
This game and Project Zomboid are my all time zombies games. It’s a shame Undead Labs went super woke, but Zomboid is still based and continually updating the game.
I uninstalled it after playing it for a bit, I thought this was another simple story co-op zombie game, but it wasn't, The start was slow, there are multiple things to manage and keep track of, it's just that I'm more of a casual gamer, I'd like my game's progression to be simple, You know, the usual shoot things ,unlock stuff and kill the final boss. I'm not saying it's a bad game, it's just that it isn't for me, I don't have the time or the patience to learn the ins and outs of this game
_POV u are commenting on the wrong video simply because it's the last uploaded video_ Correct video➡*Why i quit new games* i didnt quit new games, but i certainly wait a solid month b4 buying. There are too many examples of how games from N64 and PS2 have much more content than games on Xbox S.X and PS5, from sports games, to shooters, to rpg, etc. But the scummiest thing of all i hate, is when gaming companies announce a game... and after years of development, the game is unfinished and looks like it belongs on PS2. Examples: • Anthem • Cyberpunk • Battlefield 2042 • Fallout 4... the list goes on I played A LOT of battlefield 4 and was in a clan. So it really took me out wen BF-2042 dropped and ur characters didnt even properly load in pre or post game lobbies sometimes, and i preordered that game. Biggest waste of money in my entire life (literally, not just saying that). Ever since then, the *_ONLY_* game i wud look forward to on PS5 and XBOX consoles is GTA, because Rockstar is currently the only company on those platforms that takes its time with a AAA game. I exclude Nintendo on a whole because they are too consistent to even consider complaining about.
can you check out "lisa the painful" game? i assume you would like it. the game's about a martial arts dude living in a post-apocalyptic world where theres no woman. and he's a schizo guy feeling guilty for his past. there's a prequel game named "lisa the first" to get some answers and a sequel game named "lisa the joyful". that's all, i like your videos.
Only thing I dislike about it is the community aspect. As in wish I had more choice in base and community members not controlled suck and are useless.Really wish you could have a bigger take back on the maps.
I love your content brother! Not sure if you have already done so, but can you do a video of how games have exploited our addictive behaviors and made the games more like casino slot machines! If you look around, you will find stories of people spending MILLIONS! I did not believe it until I saw it. The gaming industry has definitely changed for the worse! Whoever these people are in charge now are NOT looking for our best interest. microtransactions, unfinished games, PvP, skins, and more are meant for people to keep spending.
I liked it but I havent played it since the devs put up art of people wearing maga hats being burned alive on a background of BLM communist fists during the BLM riots. This was on an update in 2020. Seriously, there were thousands of comments on it on the xbox back then. As for the game, I hated the millenial dialogue and the end phase where theres really only one base to take because none of the rest are big enough or have enough slots. Did really enjoy it, but it only appears replayable. You have to do exactly the same thing and go to the same places. Would like another one.

I always loved the sound of SoD but didnt play it and now i cant remember what happened to my 360 😢
Sorry for your loss hope you find your 360
I played the first and second game, it has such great mechanics and visuals/gameplay of any zombie game I’ve played.
Now i have no wonder saw gay sh*t since the first one 🤣
@@streamspoart2671 100%
Woke is an understatement.
I don't care if a company is woke as long as the product is not woke (cause EVERY business of ANY KIND in the west is woke now.)
SoD2 is my favorite zombie survival game. The only flaw imo is the ugly survivors. Lots of them and some are like too ugly to be mauled by zombies.
Dunno, most good looking people are not capable enough to survive. Zombie apocalypse wouldn't be determined by looks like normal life.
Love ur content dude. Thnx for talk about what no one does
A delightful enticing profile on "State of Decay 2"! Comprehensive & a passionate look at this games major fun factor!
picked this game up sometime during the 2nd half of last year on PC first then later Xbox and ive been having a blast, especially since they're still updating it (with the last update coming later this year i believe) curveballs was a pretty cool update for me, freshened the world up a bit by making random events.
I own a ps5... but got series x for SD3... ran into SD2...couldn't stop playing it
This guy deserves more subs.
Also Kudos to the Soundtrack of this and the OG State of Decay. Jesper Kyd who composed for Assassin's Creed 2 etc. Beautiful Southern Goth, Acoustic Guitar etc. Haunting at times, perfect for the Games.
One of my favorite youtubers
This game is great. One of my favorite zombie-survival games. I love how every playthrough is completely different.
i did A Lone Survivor type playthrough .was really fun and challenging
Good game. Really like the concept of this. You're thrown into a bubble of hell and you restart when u die. The game gets super immersive the more time you're alive.
Love how the video is just entirely rambling about how you like the game, and not in any way scripted almost
So you can taylor the game as it better fits you
As you said, this game is the closest i've found to the Walking Dead comunity simulator
Days Gone (PS5/PC version) is my favorite zombie game of all time, but we also have 2 Series X consoles so I have been wanting to try this but it’s hard when you don’t have much free time 😞😞😞
SoD2 has a lot in common with Days Gone the combat is very similar just balanced towards heavy realism.
I really wanted to get into the state of decay games but I never got the chance to, maybe I should give it a try, great video man :)
Good game, but one glaring issue. Find medical supplies literally the entire time lol
It's my favorite zombie survival but had to quit it because of how stressful it is, it's not a Dark Souls type of stress but the game puts you in constant fight or flight mode.
>You're constantly running low on meds and resources and as you progress the game spawns stronger and bigger hordes of enemies
>There's not a single chill crafting/puzzle moment just choose your loadout and go out to gather resources while constantly being chased.
>You're constantly bombarded with missions that are very high risk/high reward and all of them are a huge loss if you don't do them
>You can't sleep through the night (doesn't seem like a big deal until you actually go out at night and find out)
>You get punished for doing too well (Burglary, Loudness system that keeps you from being too productive)
Don't get me wrong the combat system is one of the BEST in the genre and in gaming in general but yeah, gaming is supposed to be relaxing and challenging, not stressful
Really sounds like you sucked at it. I did not experience anything you're talking about here.
@@peterc3262 Naaah I'm good at the game, it just gets too stressful compared to stuff like Zomboid or Minecraft for when you want to chill out
it depends on the difficulty, but that shouldn' t happen in standard
@@theillusiveman2139 I switch around between nightmare or dread dependig of how spicy I'm feeling, playing standard feels a little like cheating
Is a matter of brain sanity :)
About the mission bombarding, i've learned that is better to ignore the quests of comunities that are VERY FAR from you on the map.
This is a great video and the game looks amazing to play, really wish this was on PlayStation. What’s the closest game to SOD for PlayStation?
Bad Andy! No! We do not EVER compare SoD to Ubislop again! 6:36
Why they both suck.
State of Decay 2 is really freaking badass. Wish I still had an Xbox in order to play it.
Love the contact and the voice
State of decay definitely is a one of a kind zombie game I'm glad the devs kept supporting the game this game is what the day before wanted to be
I managed to beat it in lethal and unlock all lethal boons before the curveballs update dropped.
I love the state of decay series , the very reason I've bought the Xbox
Sounds like DayZ. Story is never the same. Very emersive.
the crazy about dayZ is the human factor
I wish every Zombie game had a review like this
Just back up and kill Zombies. Car doesn't take any damage if you back into them. All difficulties. Beat Lethal thanks to Brian Menard's guides. Lethal is now easy mode, stims + plague disruptor + heavy weapon and plague hearts stand 0 chance.
Managed to beat lethal once, it was ... dificult
I love this game, thinking of getting back into it. Any clans?
I lied I'm gonna watch.
played and beat the first one back then.tried this one early but didnt like it and gave up.recently got back into gaming a month ago after 8 year hiatus due to life changes and havent upgraded to the series x console yet i decided to try this one againim blown away by the things you can do in this game.beat it on easy as a sheriff with little problems and now playing a different map with warlord leader and its making me think and strategize instead of being a gung ho.took me until day 6 ingame to move from starter base to the next. Because i wasnt strategizing good.i took my 2nd main and a random to take out a heart around day 3 ingame.things got crazy and random died so i tried to save my main.car got destroyed soni ran for it(lol)took about 10 minutes to get back to first base dodging the many hordes around which was nailbiting.almost no health and had plague but didnt realize it was in red.got her to heal her but couldnt not having a dr yet for cure.gave me 2 choices...release her from community or take her out.i chose to off her.she said "dont be so hard on yourself and get it done" (paraphrasing).cinematic of me pointing weapon and seen it fire....my jaw dropped and felt a lil bad after.no game has done this to me since gears of war trilogy dealing with Dom.well done undead labs.will be purchasing SOD 3!
haha its so good

That's the thing I didn't like when I tried it - because I really wanted to like it and play it with my friends - you can't get invested in a single character because they die and then you have to play someone else, a real bummer. Also, this is not a true CO-OP which is why it kind of defeats the purpose for me because it seems like a perfect CO-OP game.
I really liked SoD1, I slept on this one because of the backlash, but it seems alright, like more of de same but better, which is great.
if you liked 1, you should def get 2
>Console exclusive at launch
Well, that explains why I missed this one entirely. Hype train entirely on a different set of rails on another continent.
Here is a challenge drink a shot ever time he says nostalgic or everywhere America
It's not that frequent at all outside of the discussion on the map?
I haven’t watched the video yet so I’m not influenced. I played the hell out of SoD2 back in 2018-2019. Far from a perfect game, but it was fun and has replayability. One of the best zombie games ever frankly.
Forgot to mention the first game was marketed as having multiplayer which they never got around to. Also stopped playing the game mostly from dumb glitches like enemies spawning right on top of you or enemies getting stuck in unreachable areas, forgoing your time and the limited time you have in the game to do things.
After losing my survivor who specialised in infestation cleaning i didn't play the game for almost 3 years.
It definitely hurts losing a favorite
Get a bunch of red talon contractors.
yes, you should, but if your on xbox, i dont recommend group posts, most have people with one shot guns, or giving out hacked one shot guns
i liked the first for a bit, played the 2nd for like an hour and didnt feel like playing it again :P
State of decay 3.. either they'll finally drop the woke narrative,
or they'll QUINTUPLE DOWN and add pronouns, randomizer for characters (low effort crap to pretend being DEI) like random option for characters gives you bearded females with purple eyebrows for example
Change in-game percentage to have a like a 70% chance for females instead of males for new npcs (like Xcom used to have a 60-40 in favor of females, saved by the Patriarchy mod lol)
(another ex) Sniper elite 5, 1942, first allies are a lesbian Black/white couple, then a group of french resistant, all black men and a few women. what a disgrace. i'm french, and that's such an insult.
The gameplay trailer from the xbox showcase had a pride flag on the memorial altar at the end, so you guess where undead labs is going, I will not be playing their game.
@@GFMarine yeah, sad.. another one bite the dust, guaranteed flop if it's way too much, tho for me, just a flag is too much, it represent all the liberal craziness now.. dont care about gays, but supporters from that side are just radicals
They really injected this shit into WW2 game? Thank you for informing me, i wanted to check this series for a long time. Not anymore
@@GFMarine Undead Labs still belong to Microsoft, sadly. SoD2 has un-woke mods, like "fewer Netflix characters" which makes good game clean from this bullshit
@@Jackfromshack I'm on console so that's not possible for me.
Hey man have you played Trepang2? It's a love letter to Fear and Crysis games, indie with AAA production quality
If you love SoD, i recommending Project Zomboid for more complex experience and darker story
Even the menu has very dark story, till death do us apart
This game is the $hit! I'm a truck driver and I was happy to find a truck stop to use as a base 😂
I would say yes because it out lived bf 2033 and bf came out after and state of decay is still getting update and people been playing this game for 5+ years worldwide
if this game had a good story mode (I mean a really good story) then it would be up there with RE and SH.
is fun, sure, but it gets boring really quick. I mean, what's the main goal? kill all the hearts? upgrading your community? then what? that's why when somebody talks about survival games, this game almost never came up.
Just get a bunch of red talon contractors and you’ll be good to go.
You can back over zombies to save the car. You take far far less damage
Yeah i love this game loop. I mainly only play on leathal zone but i might play on noghtmare if i need a break from yelling at my tv haha. 😂
Least favorite aspect is the plague hearts. They really take the fun out of the game for me
This is the best satire channel I have ever watched. You nail the fat, do-nothing, self righteous gamer voice. Great impression
_POV u are commenting on the wrong video simply because it's the last uploaded video_ Correct video➡*Why i quit new games*
i didnt quit new games, but i certainly wait a solid month b4 buying.
Examples: • Anthem • Cyberpunk • Battlefield 2042 • Fallout 4... the list goes on
I played A LOT of battlefield 4 and was in a clan.
I actually tried to buy it when it released, it wouldn't launch so I refunded it, loved the first one so maybe I will give it another shot
I play dynasty warriors when i get stressed out, youre the first person ive heard mention they have a "blanket" game.
can you check out "lisa the painful" game? i assume you would like it. the game's about a martial arts dude living in a post-apocalyptic world where theres no woman. and he's a schizo guy feeling guilty for his past. there's a prequel game named "lisa the first" to get some answers and a sequel game named "lisa the joyful". that's all, i like your videos.
Only thing I dislike about it is the community aspect. As in wish I had more choice in base and community members not controlled suck and are useless.Really wish you could have a bigger take back on the maps.
I play it. But it should've had many improvements before it launched. Still needs a few improvements but we have mods so.
I never got the props I felt I deserved for beating it on lethal… until now.
They say the character generator is random with even percentages but it is definitely not lmfao
I don't know why SoD 2 became famous again this year, even their Nexus Mods site alive again with many new mods
The average play through is 5 hours? Huh? Its waaaaaaay longer than that 😂😂😂
I played this on launch and I really loved it. Then I realized everything was on a timer and many timers were running at the same time and it was very overwhelming so I uninstalled it. Idk if it got better since then
