Gripens should be going to Ukraine, period! All Swedish aircraft have been designed expressly to fight the Russian AF since day one. Far more survivable then the F-16, etc. that need long, smooth runways and much more complex maintenance. They would also be a great way for Ukraine to jump-start their aircraft industry after the war is finally over as the Gripen could be built there under license.
Why didn't you buy this plane? I cannot think of a more perfect fit. But I do understand that in a pressed political situation, you would please the biggest friend who may save your butt. At least it seemed that way. But mostly for your sake, it may be unfortunate to rely on the heavy upkeep and being had by the balls of USA, when it is by no means certain that they will be able to deliver upgrades and spare parts when the going gets tough. I guess its easy to make such a compelling 'infomercial' when you have such a great product 😛 The only point Jakob makes which maybe deserves especial underscoring is when he says, *the Gripen is easy to fly and the Gripen E is even easier* . For a warplane its not the flying itself that matters, its the effectiveness of the platform, how well the combo of pilot and plane can deliver. The less brain processing capacity the flying requires, the greater the capacity avialable to the pilot to search for threats whilst planning his or her own strikes.
This… I watched a TED talk with a Raptor pilot and he had a 5 minute segment on this concept and why it’s so important in the modern battle space. Having played DCS for a few years and having gained reasonable competency with the F-14 module it still amazes me just how much stuff you have to be keeping track of while also flying the jet. And that’s without even a third of the sensor packages available to actual modern fighter pilots, insane.
Yes, it's just a screen that cost 1 billion dollars to develop, plus 900 million to adapt a new panel to the Gripens bought by Brazil, which is so insignificant that only Brazil and the USA (F-35 Lightning II) have this technology and which, finally, was definitively incorporated into all Gripens and appears prominently in the company's videos as a differentiator from competitors..

I guess its easy to make such a compelling 'infomercial' when you have such a great product 😛
The only point Jakob makes which maybe deserves especial underscoring is when he says, *the Gripen is easy to fly and the Gripen E is even easier* .
For a warplane its not the flying itself that matters, its the effectiveness of the platform, how well the combo of pilot and plane can deliver.
The less brain processing capacity the flying requires, the greater the capacity avialable to the pilot to search for threats whilst planning his or her own strikes.
This…
I watched a TED talk with a Raptor pilot and he had a 5 minute segment on this concept and why it’s so important in the modern battle space.
Having played DCS for a few years and having gained reasonable competency with the F-14 module it still amazes me just how much stuff you have to be keeping track of while also flying the jet. And that’s without even a third of the sensor packages available to actual modern fighter pilots, insane.
tycker mycket om jas men mitt hjärta är i viggen
This super glass cockpit was maiden by brazilian Gripens, and was project by brazilian company.
The UK needs get 400 of these Hummingbird's ASAP
Gripen till Ukraina, NU! 🙏
