He’s always been one of my favorite writers. I read this story probably 50 years ago and forgot most of it but I do remember the essence of it.

Thank you for reading and posting this classic science fiction story. After GPT 4-o wrote me a wonderful poem for a fellow Tolkien fan's birthday, I went looking to see if I could find an audiobook of this story (which I had heard of but never read) and arrived here. It's delightful to listen to Kurt's imagining of today's reality!

You are magnificent! I’ve never enjoyed an audio story more than I have yours. You’ve got a rare talent, for which I’m most grateful. Thank you so much. Since you very kindly asked, I’d love to hear more Vonnegut. Maybe some Bradbury? Orwell? Wodehouse? Can you only do those in the public domain?

The plot and some events are nearly identical to the movie "Electric Dreams"

I feel genuinely sorry for you that you can’t see the point in reading a story by one of the greatest authors of the last century. Its only boring when you don’t understand subtext and commentary.
