I bought this lawn mower last weekend and I'm really happy with it. It works flawlessly and is very sturdy. I did a lot of research before buying it. All other corded mowers were either cheap plastic or were not very heavy duty. I hope this helps other buyers also.

Neal Marrison It is great that the video was informative for you. Your Son-In-Law will get years of usage out of the mower. See my other video about the blade replacement. It is a good idea to get an extra blade just in case. Be sure that he operates the mower with a extension cord that is rated for at least 13 amps.

Neal Marrison I've got a Homelite 20" cordless 24-volt push mower, which actually shares the same basic deck design and over the last 4-5 years it has held up nicely. Well, one of the rear wheel bearings is going bad, and the battery is showing it's age, but those issues aside it has served me nicely. Since they're going corded, it should work without issue for years to come. That said, on the cordless a sharpened blade makes a huge difference. With a sharpened blade I can cut 1/3 more than with a dull blade.
Da Blueguy Thanks for the idea on the blade sharpening. To everyone out there. Make sure you cut with a sharp blade. Obviously it will be easier and it is less damaging to the grass.

I never could get around to making my review of this mower sadly. But yours basically covers everything I was going to talk about. The only difference is I'm using a locking cord. The built in cord holder should've been made large enough to hold 12 gauge cords though.
A question had come up: The manual states that 14 gauge wire is fine.
Yes this is true. I used 12 gauge because of the length of cord and I want to make absolutely sure that the voltage drop is at a minimum. I have other high amperage tools that is use with the same cord. 12 gauge fits all of the other uses for my other tools.

I bought the same exact model from Lowes but they had a clearance model that had been brought back, so I paid 70 for the mower (without instructions or warranties). I also bought a 16 gauge cord that was 120 feet but just today cut the cord while mowing backwards.
That an awesome price. Spend the money and get a heavier gauge extension cord. 16 gauge is too thin for 120 ft. The voltage drop over that distance will ruin your mower's electric motor. Switch up to 12 gauge.
Bought one of these and used it for the first time yesterday. I use a manual reel mower usually, however in August the grass starts to get tough, wet and much harder to cut. This mower does a great job, as well as my old gas powered mower. I got the 12 gauge cable as well, it's a bit heavier, however is not too inconvenient. The best part is there is no gas or oil to smell up the garage. I clean it off, wind up the cord, and I'm done. Oh, and 5 year warranty. Can't beat that.

My second season with same mower. Still very happy with it. Good experience with customer service when inquiring about a seam ripping in the bag; they sent a new one without charge. I believe the standard warranty is 5 years!
Awesome. They make a great product. Maintenance on these mowers is pretty low. I will be posting a video soon showing how to open the top to remove dried grass.

Just bought this mower. It works fine. Nice and light and easy to push. There is one bad feature though, and I'm not sure they have a fix. When using the grass catcher, the rear discharge cover does not seal with the top of the mower. Net result is that grass blows out between the top of the mower and the discharge cover. Not sure if they have a fix for this.
I have the same problem. When I use the side discharge option, the grass flies up and lands all over the deck of the mower. There is a plastic flap that is supposed to prevent a backlash of grass from flying back up; however, I have a lot of grass that lands upwardly. Not happy.

How does this motor sound better than yard force 15 amp!? Ive been debating between yard force and Kobalt for the highest amperage corded mower but this seals it. I think ill buy Kobalt.

Thanks for posting this vid! I am replacing an old HomeLite battery powered mower, and I think this is the top contender. Does the handle fold down at the base as well as the middle? I hope it does, because I plan on building a little box/locker to roll it into when not being used.

Great review. I was considering the 40-volt Ryobi cordless mower, but then remembered that I rarely mow the yard with enough notice to have batteries all charged up and ready to go. I wonder about this one, though. How sensitive is it to slightly wet grass? Or if I get caught in the rain and it takes me a few minutes to push the thing into the dry. Also, I often mow after it's become kind of high and thick (back yard). Lots of push, then pull back to finish it down to the desired height. Is that manageable with a corded mower? Will I have to train myself to NEVER pull the mower backward?

No issues for the questions that you ask.
I live in the American Northwest. I mow in the rain and wet grass. The grass is cut fine. Additionally there have been times when the grass is longer than normal and the mower cuts through it fine as well. Use some WD-40 under the mower when finished so that the grass does not stick to the underside of the mower. Keep your blade sharp.
The mower has a lot of torque. Moving backwards is okay. Just watch the cord and keep a consistent pattern. Always mow away from the area where you plug in to the outlet. If you need to cross the line, just stop the mower. Restarting is just as easy as stopping it.
Obstructions should be manageable. I am sure that you can some up with something. Raise the cord if you need to around the trees.
A battery powered mower will work for you as well. Keep it charge at all times. I used to have one. That the the trick. Keep it on the charger. I did not like the weight of the battery . I am sure today it is different. I was using a battery powered mower 17 years ago. Lead Acid Batteries were all that you could get. The Lithium Ion Batteries weight less.
I just went for the plug in type for long term use and less consumables (batteries do wear out).
+Linus Thanks very much. I am wary of using WD-40 because we have rocks in our yard and there can be sparks. I of course avoid the rocks when I can, but animal activity and rain move them and sometimes I hit one I didn't notice was sticking up enough to get caught in the blade. I will be training my young son to mow very soon, too.
I liked your easy-off cleaning method, so maybe I could substitute something for the WD-40. I would have to change my mentality on maintenance, anyway. In 11 years of having the same mulching gas mower, I never once cleaned the underside. That isn't best practice, obviously.

I doubt that the WD-40 would ignite from a spark. Normally the WD-40 is applied after mowing and scraping grass off of the underside of the mower. The flashpoint of the spray is pretty high. You could always apply car wax to the underside.
Removal of rock before hand is probably a good idea. Your mower blade will last longer.
I think there are outside tools you can use out of season to keep your batteries occupied. A chainsaw, leaf blower, hedge trimmer, etc. I would choose a brand that offered these options, even if another brand offered a slightly better mower but no other applications for the batteries.
Also, did you buy a specific mulching blade, or are you using the factory blade?

Just picked this baby up yesterday. Tried battery powered not enough juice, gas powered starting trouble. This was great! Although navigating wire could be painful. How is it holding after 4 yrs, does it still run? Follow up video would be greatly appreciated! Also caulking and wd40 was a great tip! Take care

The mower is much lighter than a gasoline push power.
Unfortunately between moving houses ive lost the mulching plug in and it seems to be impossible to find another online. What are your thoughts on using the mower without the plug? Or do you have any suggestions where i can find a replacement plug? Please anyone that sees this and has an idea or a link let me know. I dont want to buy a new mower just for mulching

yahmed2k4 Yes. 14 gauge wire will work. It is one of the recommended sizes for 30 meters. It is less expensive. I am using 12 gauge because I have some other high amperage tools.

thicker wire is always better. it will give you less voltage drop and moee power to the motor thus extending its life.

I would not recommend hosing off the undercarriage. If water sprays up into the electric motor, it might create an unsafe condition or ruin the motor.

No. I do not think they sell parts. I am sure that superglue may not hold either.

if this is 13Amp and you chose to use a 15A cord. why did you say 16A bad? I thought a lower value is bad not higher?
I have a 13 amp motor and I am using using a cord capable of handling 15 amps. That cord is 12 gauge. What I caution people about using is a 16 gauge cords which cannot handle 13 amps of power.
Lower Gauge = Higher Amperage.

*I bought two of these to double-team a 2/3 acre plot with my friend.🚜 **allabout.wiki/KT** We used to use a mowing service, but $240/month was adding up fast. We needed lawn equipment, and rather than spend $1200 on a cheap ridable mower, we spent the same amount with GreenWorks on two of these mowers, four 2AH batteries, two rechargers, a blower and a trimmer. I'm glad I did. These mowers are easy to push, plow through thick grass, can be used at night due to their low noise, are effortless to start, don't stink of gas, and I love always having a charged battery available. I've found that a battery can fully charge before I drain a battery (~45 minutes), so the two of us never have to stop. We get our yard done in about 1.5 hours and hardly break a sweat. We have been mowing weekly and actually enjoy doing it, despite the two of us claiming we hated mowing grass. Seems we only disliked the inconveniences that gas-powered equipment bring. Thank you GreenWorks for making lawn care fun for us.*

Nobody shows how the mulch feature works! Wth??
In the video, the bag is not attached, and the side discharge vent is closed. Under these conditions, mulching occurs. The grass is cut and pushed upwards. The grass is cut a few more times as it falls. This cycle repeats several times as the mower rolls over the grass.

I've owned/used this mower for 3 years until last week when the lever-controlled switch failed rendering the mower a lawn ornament. Disassembly revealed a cheaply made poorly engineered cheese-ball internal non-universal plastic part that broke inside the lever controlled PTO switch assembly. Went online to find a replacement and - nothing is available! Nor is any other replacement/repair part for Kobalt corded mowers. My advice: Buy a Black & Decker or other easily repairable brand.
Thank you for the feedback. The part is not probably not available for legal reasons. They probably do not want you to service or bypass the switch. This must be frustrating.
Being a dastardly miscreant, I would install my own dadburn switch of whatever type would carry the load.
