I got the EGO mower and it has way more than exceeded my expectations! I mowed my yard the other day which was a little wet but it was tall grass and the mower got through it like it was nothing. Impressive!
Stiga. I remember I borrowed a Stiga mulcher off someone a few years back and it weighed less than a 10 case of lager despite having a petrol engine, I was astonished. It worked really well too.
Thanks for the nice comparison. Nice to see a Stiga, don’t see them much on RUclips. But I really like the Stiga 48v system. Have 3 garden tools within this system. Not a lawn mower yet, but this one would be an overkill for my yard. Keep up the good entertaining work!
hey guys, enjoyed the video. although the battery capacity was off i believe. to calculate a universal measurement of any battery you do AH multiplied by voltage. what comes out is watt hours. so a 5 AH 60 volt battery would be 300watt hour , a 4 AH 80 volt battery would be 320 watt hour and therefor have more capacity this works for any battery, not just lawnmower batteries ^^ naturally feel free to give it a google to back up this info, hopefully this can help educate people on which mower and battery system to get. have a good one!
Yes, I’m aware of the calculation and we probably should have used wh’s. At eh same time we try not to confuse people and use the info they are use to hearing.
@MachineryNation I trust you have experience with it!, you know your audience very well i believe so i appreciate you doing whats best. thanks for the reply. I'll look forward to the next video!
Excellent review … Milwaukee for its far superior RPM 3,300-3,800, cleaner cut with less stragglers, faster cut (time is money) and full bag … the others are typically slowing down the RPM to game runtime at the expense of a good cut.
Hi James + Josh, That was a good top gear test run on battery mowers. I liked the Milwaukee, all that power with the lower voltage battery and like you said the 18v battery can be used in any of hand held power tools, just for the battery application it's Milwukee for me. Great video catch you soon Take care
They run the 2 batteries in series, making it 36v, but it’s still impressive that it’s the most powerful and doesn’t have overheating that would cause thermal throttling compared to the 80v mowers.
still love me ego light weight cheap long garuntee on battery and machine variable speed double chop blade and quick and easy pack down down into its self
Thanks guys. Why do you not review Hayter mowers? 48 Pro Battery is one of the best mowers around with proven battery tech shared with Toro. Milwaukee has an excellent mower, but cut quality is better with Hayters.
Great comparison video gentleman! I understand these are all 21” decks but I’ve been eyeing the Greenworks new 22” mower that has a knob to change from bagging to mulch. I’m currently using a Ryobi 40v 20” poly deck mower and I like it. To me though a lot of these poly deck mowers feel like this younger generations poly Tonka toys! They are tough for sure but I like the feel of my generations metal Tonka toys…lol! I would love the Milwaukee mower since I’m on the platform but the Greenworks has a better price point. Again great video guys!
We invite as many manufacturers to be involved as possible. The video was already 25mins long so if we used more it would be so long, we also try to use the most popular to start with.
Hey Nation, thank you so much for bringing us a UK perspective of garden machinery. Have you ever thought of handing the machines over to professionals to see how they handle on the day to day and subsequently get more in-depth reviews, eg. Giving mowers to a gardener to see how they handle different gardens, how maneuverable they are, any quirks the have etc. Keep up the amazing work.
We have done this in the past with certain tools. But unfortunately a lot of the time the costs exceeds the rewards. Mower wise James ran a landscaping and garden maintenance company for several years and was a garden machinery dealer for 12 years. I’m not sure what advantage handing one over to a professional who has only used 2/3 mower brands would achieve in this case. Items we generally get professions to look are like top handle chainsaws up a tree etc. Stuff we either aren’t legal to use etc.
I wish this challenge had put the Black n Decker's electric mower through its rounds so I can show my boyfriend what a real ass of a mower it is especially since I have a backyard with a pretty significant slope.
Hi guys, that was a very informative video and couldn’t have come at a better time as I’m looking to replace my mower with something bigger with a bit more run time however I run WORX platform kit and looking at their top end mower which is the 80v WG761E nitro but I have nothing to go on with regards to how this mower performs as I can’t try before I buy and it’s expensive at £899 Have you done a video on this model at all ? Cheers Steve
@@MachineryNation Cheers guys thanks for your help and looks like I’m leaning more towards the EGO kit but need one with a rear roller as my clients love the stripes I achieve. Thanks again 😎😎
Great work guys. Any view on GTech mower as weighing this up at £300 vs 42cm EGO (non-self propelling) model at £450. Head says EGO, wallet says GTech. Thanks 👍🏻
I have a new Toro battery mower, it sucks, drive wheel falls off in 2nd hour, battery shorts, and on-line Toro will not take it back. They do not take items back if you use it for 1 minute! Their rear left geared wheel unbolts itself from the bracket, it self destructs! Two others have the same problem. Their repair dealer literally told me "with Toro, its Buyer Beware". I have a Toro case number, a BBB case number, and a US Consumer Product Safety Commission case number. Save yourself and learn from my mistake, and stay away from Toro.
We've got lots of vehicles, trailers, tractors etc on our three acres. The Millwaukee wins because it has the low snout. You can mow underneath these obstacles. The other mowers are too short and tall in the front.
Sorry, but this is one of the least conclusive tests I've seen. No actual price to performance on any level beyond 'here's what we paid and how long it ran for, you figure it out', never mind whether the watt hours were comparable (they weren't) so we have to figure out whether we're paying for the mower or the batteries to run it which is important for long term use or small vs. large properties. Also: no minimum height comparison, no stress testing, and no indication of what style blades were used/included.
not weighing the bags empty not using Wh for battery capisity to normalise battery size and not using consistent grass/load should have gone to a nice open field, cut it even at say 100mm with a big farmers tractor then done each mower with an operator and cut till they stoped.

I used my friends landlords lawn mower to cut his grass (he paid me 40$) next time he asks I will be using my step fathers Milwaukee lawnmower because it is far better then this POS suntek.. this damn lawnmower would die on me after 30 min of use and that’s not even with me using the power wheels option

The Milwaukee is a complete beast.
It is and with a beastly price to go with it. Egos new aluminum deck mower is the same, a beast in power and price!

The Milwaukee is 2800 to 3300 rpm.
@@ecp4500 is that what you tested, because the spec’s say 3,300 - 3,800.

When you put the box on the scale, are you checking the dry weight compared to the full box? Certainly, they all have different dry weights?
Agreed. The weights of the boxes were not that different. We should have mentioned this 🤦🏻♂️
