- In this episode, I visit an avid rare plant collector’s enchanting Shanghai apartment - which is located in the heart of the charming French concession district.
As we all KNOW, China’s social media and plant community is completely disconnected from the rest of the world’s. This episode provide us with a rare glimpse into the ELUSIVE plant culture in China.
Our guest, Moses, shared real insights into how he collects rare plants in this part of the world, AND how he takes care of them. I was surprised to know that there’s a HUGE fledging rare plant market in China.
We do a tour of his impressive indoor collection, to see some rare aroids we are familiar with, as well as original hybrid from China.
This reminds us that despite us being world’s apart, we are connected by our passion, and determination to grow plants in our living spaces.

Oh, Moses is so sympathetic and his dogs are so sweet! It's lovely how he has two dogs so they can feel good together being siblings. They seem very happy with him. And what a peaceful sanctuary he has created as his home! I would happily chat there with him over a cup of coffee! How beautiful! I love how the sun streams into his flat onto his plants. And I love his philosophy towards his plants - they are family ^^

this video is especially exciting for me!!! I lived in Shanghai for a few months, I love plants and I learn Chinese for a half of year, and it's crazy that i can understand some phrases without subtitles!!! now I wish I could go back to Shanghai and visit that plant market.

@@onlyplants Yeah but the amount of space it can take up is what kept me from trying. His leaves where of a very manageable size while the plant shows some age. That would work for me as well
