- In this video I will be reviewing the Ps5 vs Ps4 pro and the major differences that come with each device. The Ps5 Is the ultimate next generation console, The Ps4 is the ultimate previous generation console so they both have a lot to offer. The ps5 Is also very limited in stock so a lot of people are wondering whether its even worth it to try to get a ps5 when their ps4 works just fine. Another thing is that both systems have a fair amount of games to offer, but the ps4 is winning when it comes to that so it really makes it a hard decision.

I've had my PS5 since about June of 2021 and it's been incredible, I love just how quick and responsive the console is. Load times for native PS5 titles are insanely fast, games load nearly instantly now. With Ghost of Tsushima for example, I can go from the PS5 home menu with the game closed, to hands on playing the game, within 2-3 seconds using the activity cards. And I love that everything I play now is at 60fps, doubling the framerate has been a massive game changer for me

Still though, even 60fps is a MASSIVE improvement over 30fps, to the point where I can't go back to 30 anymore because it just looks so blurry/choppy

1 my og ps4 was old & overheating
2 i skipped the ps4 pro
3 i wanted to see what the ps5 controller fuss was about
If u have a ps4 pro, u should NOT buy a ps5 at this point in time. You are NOT missing anything. 98% of all ps5 games are also ps4 games and run almost as good on ps4 pro as they do on ps5. As somebody who had a ps5 since january 2021, u really dont need a ps5 until games are exclusively made for ps5.

@@firedallasjill5230 the PS5 because it’s future proof and has a lot of fancy features like ray tracing. Also the PS5 exclusive games in the first year like rift apart, demons souls and returnal already look gorgeous. Imagine how games on the PS5 will look in a few years
Idk about "run almost as good". Going from a locked 30fps to a 60fps or even more is a BIG boost in performance.
@@firedallasjill5230 its currently almost impossible to get a ps5 still. So i think its best to go with a ps4 pro for now and then go for a ps5 when u can actually get one at retail price (nobody knows when that will be) as anything above retail is simply not currently feasible. Unless of course u can afford to pay the extra money for a ps5 right now.

I was going to buy a ps5, decided to go with the PS4 pro instead and I have no regrets. Especially after doing the SSD swap. The ps5 needs time. Maybe in a few years.

I'm fine with the PS4 Pro, especially since the exclusives are still on it and will be until the PS5 is ever readily available on store shelves. I have an external SSD for mine, works GREAT.

@NJB There's actually quite a lot of people who've been able to get their own PS5 at this point (who aren't scalpers). There's been 116 million PS4s sold and 17 million PS5s sold, for a total of 132 million Playstation consoles between the two. Out of those 132 million, 48 million of them are subscribed to PS Plus on their console (aka 36% of PS console owners). Now out of all those PS5s that were sold, 8 million are subscribed to PS Plus (so 47% of PS5 owners are subscribed). Now considering that there are many people who own a PS5 and *aren't* subscribed to PS Plus, we can surmise that MOST of the PS5s that have been sold this far have nevertheless ended uo with actual gamers who are using them.
Also, plenty of stores have been having multiple in-store releases as of late

I did like the DualShock 4 but the dual sense just feels so good. I’m also glad Sony got rid of that LED light bar because every time the screen goes dark, all I notice is that light bar, even on dark lit games. I still noticed that light bar and it was too distracting at times.

I have had my PS5 disc edition since launch and I love it however my friend still has a PS4 Pro and we have been playing the same games this entire time the severe lack of actual next gen games is disappointing.

Let me ask you one question. Why even get a pro? It has no exclusives at all that you can’t play on ps4. So why buying the pro and not the slim ps4?
Also, ps4 pro is true 4K high MaX output to push the graphics to the max over the ps4 slim... if you don't want to waste your $$$ on a 5, and don't have a ps yet.... get a PrO. Trust me, I got a ps4 slim and I'm on. A hunt for a limited edition pro
I have a ps4 pro since 2017 and rarely makes noise. However I remove the ps4 pro lid to clean the fan (super easy) at least once per year. Also if you add better thermal paste in the processor will help a lot with the heat distribution(did this once)

Shouldn’t have to do that with a console. Also, my pro was loud as all hell compared to my 5 out of the box.
@@harpua5555 true! But unfortunately that is the reality, the original thermal paste looked like clay which means was not been very efficient anymore. I use the thermal grizzly paste. Really recommended (1g is more than enough)

Adding an ssd helped a lot with the noise as well because hard drives are loud

I held on to my PS4 Pro for an extra year hoping the PS5 would be available and boy was I wrong! Lucky for me I aggressively stayed on those restock websites and was able to get a PS5 this weekend (Jan 2022). So far I've noticed a lot of things this video pointed out and I guess it's time to sell my PS4 pro since I can play all the games on the PS5!

Start checking the small towns near you. They will have big box stores where you can find them. The average age in my town is like 70 and our Wal-Mart has had them for a while. GL!

The ps5 has too many issues, and not enough games to make it worth it. There arent gona be any games I wana play on the ps5 for at LEAST a year. I always wait a year or two after a console comes out to give them a chance to work the bugs out. This is the FIRST generation that I can see I'm not missing anything. My ps4 pro, with my 70 inch 4k HDR tv are GOOD. By the time I get one, the ps5 will be alot cheaper, anyway. I'm so straight.

Here’s my thought, i bought ps5 near launch, i thought more games would allow for k&m and utilise the 120hz and dont get my wrong the 120hz and ray tracing did look lush but it really was not worth it for the hype. i was mainly playing ps4 titles anyway and i played most fps on pc so i never really used 120hz. Ray tracing i barely used anyway as there isn’t much ps5 games i want to play

The dual sense controller is worth the upgrade alone you are crazy if you prefer the dual shock control the triggers and haptic feedback are insane

I’ve had my ps5 for about a month and I’m in love 😂 I can still play all the same games but without the nag of a slow and loud ps4. I enjoy the ps5 controller more than the ps4 and I can play my playlist from Apple Music while playing games when ps4 only had Spotify and I didn’t use that.

I think you should differentiate between the PS4 Pro and the PS4 when speaking about which consoles you are comparing. The Pro model is not the same experience as a PS4 slim or launch model and that's something people should know who are looking to buy a new console. The PS4 Pro you have 4K HDR and you have boost mode. You get more options on what kind of experience you want in certain games. It's like referring to the One X and the Launch Xbox as the same when they are almost a generation apart in the experience they provide. You get games like Gears 5 and Marvel Spiderman series at 4k 60fps on the premium last gen consoles when the base Model consoles often give you an experience between 720p and 1080p max sometimes they run using lower environmental settings and you aren't going to get the option of quality and performance modes on many games like you do with titles like God of War, Jedi Fallen Order..

just picked up ps4 pro used a few weeks ago and im more than impressed it lets me play the exclusives ive missed out on over the last 10 years with a noticeable bump to resolution and graphics and the 30 fps cap is not a bother to me since im only playing AAA sony exclusives and they are the masters of 33.3 frame pacing
should also add i got the ps4 and a physical copy of literally every exclusive except the new horizion and im still roughly 250-300$ short of JUST getting a ps5

Look closely. Play the last of us remastered. It has an option for 1080p 60fps and a 2160p 30fps on the ps4 pro. And call of duty’s on the pro are also 60fps confirmed by Activision.
Most games are indeed locked at 30fps. But not all.
@@MatrixAlphaCWX yeah i get that still chose to play last of us at 30 fps on a good 4k gaming monitor it looks amazing. i have a series x for everything else literally just picked up the pro because it and EVERY EXCLUSIVE used still saved me roughly 250-300$ compared to just getting the ps5

Definatelly ps5 is the winner but for now,considering the scalpers prices and the lack of true next gen games...my ps4 pro does the job pretty well, except for the noise but i got used to it. I plan on buying ps5 games which have also ps4 versions like Sackboy, Horizon sequel and GOW Ragnarok. I think ps4 pro still delivers in terms of gfx. It maybe lacks a ssd drive but im fine with slower loading times on ps4 pro

I agree, if you are happy with your PS4 then stick with it. Sony will be supporting the PS4 for at least another year or two. If you are interested in PS5 exclusives then absolutely upgraded, it’s worth it.

The country i live in got a very limited ps5 stock which is why last month for my birthday i got ps4 pro and it works great on a 4k tv . The ps4 i bought is still on software 9.0.0 so i can definitely try jailbreaking it in the future as the new 9.0.0 jailbreak seems to gud to be true

I've brought the pro before the pademic begun as I know ps5 is just around the corner. Life for me isn't anymore that free for gaming, I just need to play those I need from ps4 and just grab a ps5 when it is the time for real stellar next gen game

Just to be clear, Dualshock 4 didn't introduce the motion controls. Dualshock 3 and the original SixAxis PS3 controller introduced the motion features.

There is a slight difference between ps4 pro to ps5 definitely but it’s not recommended to upgrade unless if you are using a regular ps4 plus most ps4 games can be played on ps5 anyways.

I got 65" 4k tv. Got a question about ps4. IF I play apex or Diablo 3 or lets say gran turismo 7. How big of difference do you think visualz and frames from ps4 to ps4 pro. Afraid it will look really crap to play normal ps4 on my 4k tv or am i wrong. Big difference in price also. Gonnsa buy used and ps4 is 100 euro and pro is 350

I bought my ps5 at a local target. First game was Hogwarts Legacy and I freaking loved it! The touch haptics, the adaptive trigger, the futuristic space design everything! Super worth it for anyone looking to buy one!

Recently was lucky enough to complete an online purchase of the PS5 disk version via Walmart + just waiting for the arrival date. I purchased my 4K TV nearly a year ago, only had the ps4 slim (not pro) so I wasn’t able to take advantage of the 4K tv so I’m excited for the upgrade. The practicality in size comparison isn’t ideal going from the sleekness of a PS4 SLIM to the behemoth size of PS5, but definitely still excited for the upgrade.
Same got mine from Walmart + as well! Watching all the instructional videos as can to be as prepared as possible. Can’t wait!

The size & look of the PS5 isn’t a big deal tbh. The Xbox one (first gen) wasn’t pretty either but we all eventually got use to it until the slim and one X model came out.

Sony should have waited another 2 years to release the ps5, it's clear it's not that big of a jump from the ps4 pro and doesn't have the games to justify it. If you have a ps4 pro just stick with that, most games coming out are developed on the ps4 pro and being ported to the ps5 like horizon.

a point you forgot is that you can attach the Dualshock to the PS5 so even if you are not satisfied with the Daulsense (which I personally find much more appealing ) you can use the Dualshock instead

I like the design of the PS4 more than the PS5, both the console and the controller, because I think it's more simple and minimalistic.
Unlike the PS5 design, which looks like a mess and forces it to look futuristic, and I prefer the performance of the PS4 slim because it is more efficient than other series, I don't need 4K 60FPS.

Ps4 & Ps5 have both one thing in common that sucks: USELESS WITHOUT INTERNET / NETWORK CONNECTION.
Not everyone wants to game online or multiplayer, even more not all players are dead set on sharing every micro element of their gaming experience with the psn world.
I still have my ps4 ( day 1 ) edition, and it is extremely quiet with no jet noise, don't think I will get a ps5 anytime soon.
I ALSO have a ps4 500 million pro edition, which ironically, gets hotter and noisier than my actual day 1 500gb console.
Last point, the ps5 controller seems like it would hurt my hands when gaming for extended periods fo time.

Use the ps5 stand properly.you have it laying on the blue ray disc drive.move the stand too the right dude.there are markers on the back with ps logos and you centre it too sit correctly

I don't even need a ps5 cause I don't use my ps4 religiously, but sometimes it takes forever to load basic things like looking at someones profile, or the settings, and sometimes I wish gta and minecraft could open up faster. So It would be pretty nice to have one.

Clean the fan 😂 mine use to sound like a fighter jet taking off and now it as a light hum on heavy use and silent like an assassin when I just use it for an hour or less .
Put your PS4 on rubber legs to get air underneath to make it cooler and quieter but even better is placing on a marble cutting board as marble is always 11degrees cooler than the air that surrounds it. On a black marble cutting board it should be almost silent 👍👍

After watching this video today I bought the ps5 (this was the last in stock 😂) I was questioning whether it was worth it or not but with the news that Sony will stop releasing ps4 games in 2025…it made me question whether keeping the ps4 was worthy or not? Its fan is extremely old too I have had this console for over 7 years now and I keep having to take apart to cleanup, even with that said the jumbo jet fan was driving me up the wall and watching your comparisons video today it really made my mind up with choosing the PS5! I bought the hard-drive disk built model and this will be extremely useful as i can still play some ps4 games with my mates! Thank you a bunch for this video and keep up the amazing content bro

Ps5 is great looking, great controller, great gameplay…I just feel like the ps5 and Xbox series x were mistake at this point in time… the graphical difference and the fact you can still play online with friends between consoles jsut proves the jump is not big at all. Definitely not worth the upgrade unless you still rocking a old original ps4 imo, I want a pc but I don’t feel like dropping a band when I could be saving up for a car or making big plans with friends 🤷♂️ when you 18-19 years old life tends to be too stressful to just drop so much money… only my wealthy friends will be like “bRo gRt a pC all ThE boYs got oNe NoW” 😑 so fruity bro. You can play between both systems because the quality of games in PS4 is far inferior, and also because this is still the beginning of the generation. In a couple of years when games take FULL advantage of the new gen systems, the 16GB of GDDR6 RAM and the Ryzen Zen 2 processors, you'll have games running on the new consoles that would never run on the PS4. People said the same thing at the beginning of the 8th gen. Maybe you're young so you don't know. Good luck running RDR2/Witcher 3 on a PS3 tho 🤣🤣

Lol it’s obviously slower due to the fact that it has an HDD and most Hdd's have 5400 RPM you could kinda eliminate some load time by switching your HDD from ur ps4 pro to an SSD but not entirely so IDK what you mean.

Sounds like it’s worth it, but not if you have to pay a scalper $1,000. I’m just gonna wait until the pro comes out and hope that they’ll be easier to get by then. Until then, I’m definitely happy with my PS4 pro. Do wish I had those SSD load times though.

I have a PS5 and had a Series S and I had previously had a base PS4 for about 2 months before I got a PS5 and I really enjoy it sure games are still being made for the 4 and sure there really isn't a reason to buy it but if the better option is there just take it if you can choose which one to get obviously go with the 5 you won't ever regret it..... unless you pay scalper prices

i still like the ps4 pro especially with a samsung ssd drive. i'm only going to a ps5 when they redesign it to a smaller form factor, a new revision. The differences are so little in between ps4pro and ps5. wouldn't it be nice to have a dual sense controller on ps4 pro?
