That blizzard animation is hard to see where the edges are if you're in it. Easy to see if you're on the opposite side of the room. The tornado helps mark where the leading edge is - the blizzard covers half the room and rotates around, turns in the direction of the tornado
Can someone explain how he pulls threat while he's less than 75% of the tank's threat on the meter? This only happens with shadow priest and elemental shaman (never warlocks and hunters) and no one talks about it
Is there a way to show mana gains during combat and out or combat? The mana gains for me only float up when I use my shadow fiend. Any help would be appreciated!
TBC was great for Spriests. I was north of 1500 shadow b4 Wrath full raid shadow build I did all the healing for the healer group on most bosses though shadow healing it was great!

Imagine standing on ground effect and trying to dispel it, its like tryng to dispel hunters frost trap. Charred earth is thing under you :) you dispel it with stepping out of fire

Spriest is one of the worst dps for 5mans due to lack of good cc. Not a lot of shackle undead stuff that is useful. You'll get passed over a lot for other cc classes that do way more dps than you and have aoe
on nightbane... how is it possible that he didnt use any fear on u... we have always big distance from him so i cant spam mindflay and when we are going closer we have insta fear
as much as i like to see that, there is definitely something wrong in PRT. Shadow priests do not do that type of damage, definitely status and rates have been revised. Back in the true TBC MB would never crit 4K with your geer, i was full T6 raiding SWP and rarely i would see over 5K. if you need more examples look for muq videos in nihilum (best guild there was) he was the top shadow priest and he would be making 1.6/1.7K sustained dps, pretty much shadow priest where amazing because they bring more to the raid then DPS, in fact they would never be in top 5 or even top 10, but the amount of healing and especially mana... now that's a different thing
What I noticed when watching the streaming and remembering the time I played the original TBC is that the meta DPS is not as unbalanced as the community thinks it is. Obviously if you privilege some classes (bloodlust rotation?) over others, actually the GAP looks much bigger than it really is.
Ye, well, both boomkin, ret paladin, enha shaman, elemental shaman, feral druid and so on can pull good dps but, which is more important, they bring utility. Every decent raid has have at least one ret, one boomkin, one enha... Also best possible dps group is feral druid + enha shaman + 3x bm hunter.
@@badanhatheman nah, arms as a support class (you bring arms only for + 4 % physical dmg on target) is in melee group with rogue (you bring it for expose armor), ret (imp crusader + crusader strike which keeps judgement of wisdom + buff), warrior tank and enha. Well, in other scenario you put surv hunter in melee group or surv + 2x bm + feral + enha. Arms in hunter group would be dps lose. Well, in fact fury warrior (highest dps melee) + 2x bm + feral + enha wouldnt be that bad - but fury to do any dmg requires t6/swp gear. But in most of raid comps there is simply no spot for fury warrior (you want one hunter group for sure because they have the highest dps and you need rogue for expose, arms for +4% dmg for everyone, ret, enha and tank in melee group).
@@krowaswieta7944 are you forgeting battle shout (that is a huge buff to his group) plus 4% to phys dmg to the hole raid. Maybe you can throw a rogue and retri in the same group and put hunters in the tank group 😂😂.
@@badanhatheman Mate, battle shout doesnt buff ranged attacks :). You know whats difference between arms warrior and hunter? Hunter has 50% higher dps in tbc :). Its not even exaggeration. Hunters have on avarage 30% higher dps than any other class and arms warrior 15% lower than any other class. And well, if youre try hard you just simply give all heros to hunter group (by switching shamans) for max dps increase.
Ahh this brings back so many memories! I played shadow all through out TBC and was consistently top5 DPS in my guild up until Black Temple. Ofc the player skill back then was a bit more varied. I recall having a lot of mana problems early on, like not being able to mind blast on cooldown but maybe that's not such a big problem now that everyone plays more optimally. No need to dispel princes shadow word pain in phase 1. It does very little damage, nobody including tank is taking much dmg, and it can help with threat generation
As someone who just played it through an entire private server cycle, get used to being bottom of the dps charts, bottom of loot priority, no significant upgrades in T5, and buff bot for the raid since you have improved fortitude talent. It's fun but there are significant drawbacks. Also, guilds usually just have 1 spriest for the whole 25 man raid so it's hard to find guilds that need one.
@@flo157g Warlock is really popular and does highest dps along with hunter. Boomkin is really helpful for raid but it's kind of like shadowpriest. Only 1 is needed and their dps isn't great nor are they going to be top of gear priority.
@@TheDigitalPanther hmm Hard to decide really, i played a hunter when I started in tbc (never raided tho inward like 11) was fun as far as I can remeber, warlock sounds really cool aswell with summoning demons and throwing dots and stuff but I heard all they do is spam demonbolt? Which doesn’t sound so appealing for me and spriest I just really like how it looks and think maybe I can heal some dungeons while leveling to get easier in groups really hard choice for me since there is only one boost :(
@@flo157g Warlocks sacrifice their demon to get a buff that increases shadow damage so you won't have it out during raid. And people are right, you pretty much only spam shadowbolt and refresh curse of doom on bossfights while occasionally popping trinkets and lifetap for mana.

Welcome to classic DPS. Fire mages spam scorch mostly. If you play frost you will be doing less damage with the same level of gear, and all you do is spam Frostbolt.
I wish recount / details counted your buffs/utility as damage done as well. For instance, if I buff a warrior with blessing of might, whatever % of his attack that I contributed would count as my damage instead. In this case, spriest increasing shadow damage for warlocks would count for them. It doesn't make much sense, but it would really incentivize buffing and helping people because your contribution is more obviously reflected on the charts.
This was not like it was back in the day. Spriest still had mana issues early on in t4, popping mana pots on CD and shadowfiending on heroism/bloodlust didnt prevent that. However, looks like Blizz is going for the casual approach :(

Too easy, definitely pservers raids are harder, like more health, more dmg, improved AI, complete and unerfed boss/adds skill set. For example aoe tanking Moroes adds, thats impossible in pservers, the adds hit too hard, this means tank dying or healers pulling agro, also they often dispel each other, CC is a must. Another example, killing Shade of Aran w/o him casting polymorph, that was only possible in late TBC, because of all nerfs and improved itemization.
Yea most people say it's too easy but also that it's just kara and kara was never hard. This is still on beta so maybe they will buff something for release, who knows.

I'm not saying classic wasnt fun, pvp wise i enjoyed it, but raids were deplorable.

I have no idea how people enjoy it and I was hoping to find out ways to be able to enjoy the class or to see if I was playing the class wrong, but no.. it seems like it really is just about spaming 2 or 3 moves over and over.
Then you're doing it wrong. You "spam" (use) vampiric touch, shadow word:pain, mind blast, shadow word:death, mind flay and devouring plauge (if you're undead), so that's 6 skills. Then of course vampiric embrace, shadow fiend and, most of the times on bosses, fade. And if you're good, you're ALWAYS ready to off heal or/and shield yourself or others, dispel and cc using mind control/shackle (if the mobs are humanoids/undead). It's not hard to play shadow priest, but to play it good is a lot trickier. Most shadow priests pretty much suck. I outdps shadow priests (as shadow myself) every single time, even when they've had a lot better gear than me. Maybe you don't like dpsing? I find holy priest (well, healing in general) to be incredibly boring and easy myself. I can only heal for no more than an hour before I get so bored my skin starts crawling, so I end up dpsing too with smite, holy fire, wand and dots.

You cant dispell charred earth on nightbane, its caused by the ground effect. Mass dispel may do something, never tried it

The debuff on Nightbane is displayed as "magic" but shouldn't ; it fades as soon as you come out of the charred area on the ground.

I would really like to play a shadow, but my main was always a warlock and they are just too similar and don't have AE.
Warlock is the most boring spec in tbc in pve. You might get burned out playing lock. PVP is kinda fun though

Not true, if there's any kind of aoe damage happening to your group its an easy 250 hps on 5 people; 1250 effective hps. That is pretty significant.

i agree completely. ive now watched the gruuls lair and kara and the values of everything is way off. moroes didn't even 1 shot him.
