- Como Estais Amigos is on the "Nylon Maiden - Preserved In Time" album, available at www.ThomasZwijs...
This arrangement, featuring ex-Iron Maiden singer Blaze Bayley and violin player Anne Bakker was made by Thomas Zwijsen, for the new Nylon Maiden double CD.
The song was originally composed by Blaze Bayley and Janick Gers, for the Virtual XI album by Iron Maiden.
The video was filmed in the "Basilica" in Hulst, Netherlands. Filmed by Thomas Zwijsen, Blaze Bayley and Marleen Wouters, and special thanks to Guido Kestens for the additional filming.
The end of the video includes an interview in which Blaze talks about the deeply emotional meaning of the song. Enjoy, and get the album at www.ThomasZwijs... !!
This voice is a pearl!
Probably the most underrated Maiden song.
truly
I see this like comment almost under every their music video, lol.
sung by the most underrated Maiden singer
Well....Maybe because on Virtual XI his vocals where just so out of place. He has gone through evolution of becoming a singer. This is just art compred to the original. So much emotion and pain going through him here.Proving the point that Blaze was just not ready to be the leading man back then.Tried too hard to be Bruce. This is just beautiful.
@@italosampaio2956 You are correct. Not because he should be regarded as the best Maiden singer, but because he should be regarded as a great singer.
Bayley's voice has aged well too, but when he is standing next to a throat cancer survivor that sings like a god, people are trying to compare bay leaves and oranges.
Oh and this music video is a bit cringe, but I can live with that.
The most underrated Maiden singer!
Listen to this, all you Blaze-haters, and tell me again that this guy can not sing!!! He may not have fitted Maiden perfectly, but he is such a great vocalist! And this version is so much more haunting and intense than the Maiden original. Mainly thanks to Anne!
Well said, my friend!
It's hard to get a baritone to do a tenor's job. But take notice: Blaze is singing 100 times better than 20 years ago. Huge props to Blaze for his evolution. And yes ... this version is better than the one featured in Virtual XI.
So right. I'm a big blaze fan. What a vocalist and what a nice personality.
I couldn't say better
He’s comical at best... lol
Why the heck I only knew about this version today, mid-2022? That's absolutelly beautifull! Rock on, Blaze!
Omg as a Bruce fan, Blaze’s voice always gives me the goosebumps whenever I listen. No one can sing this song better than him. It is not only about the vocal ability, it is more about the emotions. This song is like literally created for him to sing.
Hypnotizing stare
💯 🖤 🤘🏻
His voice is like wine . Makes better through the time.
I absolutely love both The X Factor and Virtual XI. One of my favorite Maiden records. Blaze's voice always touches a nerve everytime I hear it...
back at 98, getting electrified by Iron Maiden songs for the very first time was absolutely not the experience which as a 12 years old boy living somewhere in Iran, I was supposed to have. I took 4 cassettes from my cousin who copied my favorites from different albums, then soled my SEGA console to buy myself a 2nd hand WALKMAN. also had bought a book that translated all of the Iron Maiden lyrics, and the history of the band and its members. I somehow came of age through listening and understanding the songs. I grew up with Iron Maiden and somehow Pink Floyd. the virtual XI album was something else for me, millions of times I have listened and enjoyed every single sec, mainly because of this very song, como esta amigo. it always cheered me up when I was down no matter why I was sad, the song has never let me down...does not matter who loves or hates whom or why. just like those summer days of late 90s when we had closed the room's door and turned up the volume listening our favorites repeatedly
Beautiful, greetings from Argentina
Gracias, greetings back from Holland!
como estais , amigo?)
Estoy llorando...💔 No more tears ...nuestros chicos argentinos, que locura por Dios. Dolor!!!
Brasil concordance.
Kichner no hein

This song proves that the Blaze era Maiden wasn't all bad. Songs like The Clansman,Sign Of The Cross,Lord Of The Flies,Futureal and Man On The Edge are not misplaced in the Maiden canon and would grace any of the other albums.UP THE IRONS.
Eliott Santos True but at that time Blaze was pretty bad live
Agree. I see the last show of Blaze, in Buenos Aires...he just can't handle Maiden. But in the X factour he delivers great...
I was there too. I would say that he cannot handle Bruce's songs. He did handle well his own songs live and the ones of Paul Di'Anno. I will never understand what Harris was thinking when selecting him ...
that era was not bad at albums. that era was awful and infamous at live shows
Not entirely agree... The X Factor is an amazing album, a masterpiece in its own genre, totally misunderstood and underrated. One of my favorite Maiden’s album, definitely . A sort of non-Maiden album, dark, gloomy and mysterious. Totally unfitted for anyone, but Blaze’s obscure voice register. Virtual XI, on the other hand, is such a bad and lackluster copy of Maiden’s previous works. You know, everything is there... riffs, chords, choruses, etc. However, it lacks epic, spirit and creativity. Especially compared to Bruce’s awesome works at the time (v. gr. The Chemical Wedding).
Dear mr. Zwijsen, I don't know are you, or mr. Bayley Romancatholic, but it really doesn't matter.
I'm a Romancatholic priest and a big fan of Iron Maiden who cries literally (of joy) on almost every song from IM.
I really appreciate your effort in music and sending my best regards to You, Mr. Bayley, your families and every last one fan of IM!
God bless!!
Be positive in every way except CoViD-19
Love and blessings to the people all around the world!
You move me, I also have a priest brother who loves Maiden, and this is one of his favorite songs, humanity is what this world needs!! God bless you brother!!! Greetings from El Salvador, Central America.
@@luiscarlosfermanaguilera2633 Thx, send my best to your brother, and God bless from Split, Croatia, Mediterranean Europe.
One of the most beautiful Iron Maiden songs!!
Tears in my eyes!!!
Brazil loves you Blaze! You can’t imagine how much! Your songs are amazing
Love this more than the Maiden version. Beautifully done.
Great to hear Blaze's stories.
Blaze: you will ALWAYS be so very welcome in Argentina...my beloved Argentina 💙🇦🇷 eternal thanks for this beautiful and deep tune...it means a lot for many people here...myself included.
Virtual XI forever
Good
Virtual xi good 👍👌💪
This isn't just one of my favourite Blaze Bayley songs, it's one of my favourite Iron Maiden songs. This version is amazing. A guitar, a violin & THAT voice. Amazing.
Amazing performance!
Blaze is a true, passionate performer. He has a very unique vocal timbre, which suits perfectly on emotional songs like this.
Stay strong and healthy again my friend Blaze.
Almost 4 years ago i was told to choose a song to "welcome" some teachers from other countries who came to my school because of some projects and I choose to play an acoustic version of Como Estais Amigos which was kinda similar to this one (even if played and singed 1000 worse than this one uahahah).
I didn't know about this version back then and it reminds me of that day, which was really incredible.
So much respect for this man. Blaze is very original.
Thankyou Thomas and Thankyou Blaze And thankyou anne bakker, why this is my favorite song of Iron Maiden..the most epic that i am listened..long life to the metal!! lml From Chile
Thomas is eternalizing beautiful, but not so famous songs, of the Maiden!! Congrats!! You are the man!! And what a extraordinary voice that Blaze has!
Thank you so much, cheers!
not so famous song? really?
Como Estais Amigos and No Prayer for the Dying, for example, are not so famous when compared with songs like Fear of the Dark and The Trooper.
let us be friends?
Yes johnnyrandom100 we can have our differences and hash it out here and walk away as friends for i don't give a rats ass about what is, " Not so famous ! " The voice of Blaze Bayley ages like wine on the shelf and the vibrato and emotional content along with Flamenco Guitar and Violin circles around and then goes UP ME! ;)
Same voice as 90s...
Congrats Blaze!! 🤘🏼
Sounds better to be honest
@korrok it's an opinion wasn't insulting the original. Personally sounds better to me, nothing more nothing less.
I just love Blaze. What a soulful fellow.
Fuckin love Blaze!! It was just impossible for him to Truly Take over as Maidens front. Always be a Blaze Bailey Fan! Great voice!
I could listen to Blaze for hours.
this deserves a hundred more likes, lovely
Bayley's period... the best of Maiden! Thanks Thomas!
I have been jamming maiden since I was 4, I'm 31, and this is a top 10 all time Maiden song for me, I love it.
LINDO BRUTAL!!!!!!!!
QUE GRANDE CANTOR OBRIGADO BLAZE
Blaze sounds amazing here. He's clearly learned and improved so much since his Maiden days. This song serves as proof to how well he's developed his vocals.
I Love you! Blaze, thanks for everything! You're amazing
22 years ago I was at Philips Monsters of Rock, seeing Iron Maiden with Blaze Bayley and It was the best concert I've ever gone.
Em 1998 o maiden não tocou no Monsters
Grande Blaze Bayley!!! Excelente vocalista!!!
Man Blaze just sing it out all the time like this, never hold back and the world will understand your greatness!
blaze still rocking, salute from brazil \m/
the amazing thing about him is that his voice hasn't changed and it's very stable
When Thomas is playing before the apse, there is a print of Rembrandt's "Prodigal Son" behind him. If that banner was there already, what a wonderful coincidence that a Dutch Master's painting of forgiveness and reconciliation should appear in a video of a song featuring very similar themes. We are all human and we must mend the wounds to bring us back together. Beautiful.
One of the most underrated Iron Maiden's song from their most underrated album. Thanks a lot for making us rediscover this wonderful song !
BLAZE master! Saudações do Brasil 🇧🇷🤘
Just now I've discovered this version, this song is one of the favourite I used to listen with my beloved friend that has passed away recently... it's really touching and deep, specially this version due for the thomas work. I have met Blaze twice personally and we had a beer together after the gig and good times. adorable guy. He deserves much more. Thomas, please keep going on!
One of my fave songs from that era. Great song.
The best Iron Maiden song with the best Iron Maiden singer! The most beautiful song I've heard in a long time...with this Guitarist it is even more powerful!
EPIC!!!!!!!! MASTERFULL!!!!!!
BLAZE BAYLEY,,MÚSICA:COMO ESTAIS AMIGO,,PERFECT...
This man is a legend
There's some seriously underrated stuff from the Blaze era. This song is a great example. Can't help but imagine how this would have been with a full classical piece orchestra. Amazing it is like this anyway.
This song is on my top 5 maiden song list... and my favorite Bayley song... You all managed to make a perfect song even "more" perfect... Awesome!
Blazer é um Cantor excepcional!!!
Great voice blaze !
My dream is jam with Blaze Bayley when him return to Brazil....
I knew iron maiden by X-Factor album.....The Strong voice of Blaze rips my soul when heard "Sign of the cross" in the 1first audiction...
I was a kid when i worked like icecream-man....and buy my "Virtual 11" album...🥰🙏🙏🙏💙💙
Our Father and Maker Yahu blesses your life Blaze Bayley!!! 🙏🙏
What an amazing version of the song. I love it
Unbelievably great version of one of my fav albums of all time!!!!
My favorite Maiden LP in 90's! Virtual XI rocks!
Keep coming back to listen this masterpiece
You are reopening Iron Maiden (and other hard rock songs) for me! When I was younger I used to love these songs. But now this music in original sound is too tough for me. But you inhaled new life in these songs! Thank you!
This is one of my favorite Maiden songs.
So, this song is a scam 'cause I'm crying...honestly, beautiful underrated Iron Maiden song, and what a beautiful version.
Definitely one of the best maiden songs. Always been.
Amazing, amazing, amazing !!!! The most underated song of Iron Maiden, but this version is even better!! 🇧🇷🇧🇷🇧🇷🇧🇷
grosa!!!!
Masterpiece.
BLAZE BALEY RULES!! Not just a great vocalists a great person you just get that feeling through his music he gives you a piece of his soul in this song .
I LOVE Blaze
I would love to see Bruce and Blaze doing a one night show and alternating songs with each other because seriously my 2 most favorites albums from Iron Maiden are Virtual XI and Fear Of The Dark. For me, Blaze was super in the group because the songs he was singing (like this one) are more appealing to me, more melodic and emotionnal.
Michel Hébert I asked Blaze about this and he said it will never happen, because it would make too many ppl too happy...Whateverthat means..
They don't even have to alternate songs, they can alternate verses, and they should definitely do harmonies with the way they both sound today. - If you notice how Bruce already did different harmonies for say 'The Clansman' when singing "freedom", Bruce could go on top of Blaze. Do this with more parts in different songs and I think it would blend together perfectly.
Miguel Sandels - Did he say exactly that? "It would make too many people too happy."? - Maybe then it was sarcasm in reference to (most) Maiden fans not liking it. - I think, actually, that if they'd bring him on with the band, if Bruce would introduce him onto the stage, people would be very welcoming. They can't be so childish to be negative in the moment itself. No matter what, it would be a nostalgic and moving moment. I would love to see it.
I guess if Bruce was yet an ex Iron Maiden member like Blaze, they could duo. At the moment I see as improbable.
Blaze, Brutal voice.
Grande Blaze y Thomas... saludos desde Chile
+LedNB saludos
Lorena Ayala somos tres chilenos... Me encanta Blaze Bayley...
Here is another chilean, I really admired and absolutely amazed by the extraordinary and beautiful way in which Blaze is singing, it's really moving to witness such a magnificent evolution, many singers decay withe the time pass, but Blaze is better and better!
Somos 5 chilenos
Amo Iron Maiden en todas sus facetas.
Ahora somos 6,
Sublime Anne, Blaze y Thomas
Blaze awesome voice will live forever in Maiden history
What a voice, Blaze! Congrats Thomas for keeping maiden songs from Blaze era alive!
Blaze era rules. Love both albums and they mean so much to me.
Omg I love this. Totally underestimated the Blaze Bayley era. Love
To see Thomas and Blaze in Indianapolis, IN a likely long shot but hey!
Blaze left his fingerprint in the artistic travel of the band. This man is a column of emotions and deep sensations.
This gives me chills. Blaze sounds great as ever. One of my favourite songs from the Blaze Bailey albums.
Blaze's singing on this version is NEXT LEVEL stuff, man. Absolutely kills me. Your arrangement of this is fantastic too. The ad lib part EXPLODES on this version.
SPIRITSSSSSS
RISING FROM THE GRAVE
His voice has really come into it's own now, especially parts II and III of Infinite Entanglement.
I can undertand people hating on paul dianno. But i cant undertand the hate to this guy. Blaze still has his amazing voice, great version of an underrated virtual xi song
The level of passion here is unbelievable, like Thomas and blaze and anna... like wow 😎👍😊👏🔥❤🤯 people didn't give blaze bayley a chance in maiden cuz he wasn't bruce but what they missed in his maiden years is that he is a passionate and strong singer that write and sings very different and wonderful songs, even songs bruce himself cannot duplicate...si it gives both ways. I love maiden and paul dianno and bruce dickenson and blaze bayley and never left them through the years. Up the irons 🤘😎
Sensacional ....Blaze never die
HOLY COW This is brilliant. From the violin to actually having Blaze.
This song, together with the clansman, is incredible in virtual eleven. Congratulations for this version.
This song always gives me chills, very under-rated.
My God! Blaze you rock!
I was into Maiden before the Blaze Era, and I love Dickinson, but... When I found out who Maiden named the new vocalist, I went and found those old Wolfsbane albums and gave them a listen. What fucking energy he had on those albums! He was a damn good vocalist in his own right! So I welcomed Blaze and eagerly awaited what would be The X Factor album. Holy fuck was I in for a shock... Sign of the Cross was FUCKING AMAZING!! Immediately you can hear the progression from Wolfsbane to Maiden.. I was an immediate fan and to this day, the Blaze Era is still a treasured time of my life. I still listen to these albums frequently, and I sing along with so many of the songs... I followed Blaze after he parted ways with Maiden, and I still sing songs like Soundtrack of My Life, Born As A Stranger, Stare At The Sun, Robot, Blackmailer, While You Were Gone, Watching the Night Sky, and many more...
Blaze, if you ever read this, thank you thank you thank you from the bottom of my heart for the moments of joy you have given me listening to you sing, for "being there" through the troubled times, and just adding positivity to my life when I needed it. I may never meet you, but I love you for all of that, man. And WE, your fans, love you too.
I second this. 🖤🖤🖤🤘🏻
@@TheDarkXn 4 years later at least some one does. Haha 🤣
OMG! It's the best!!!!!!!!
This song is perfect for Blaze , nice to see this work.
As an argentinian I will always be deeply grateful to Blaze for making such a touching tribute. Many people know of the Malvinas/Falklands conflict but they don't know how gruesome and terrible it was.
Just try to picture this, british elite military forces with up to date guns and equipment, against argentinian young kids with barely to no combat training and shitty gear, it was a massacre. But despite all this, there are stories of both sides helping each others wounded at times.
This was the perfect example of how war is nothing but a game for politicians and people in power.
Blaze, I love both Iron Maiden with you as a lead vocalist and actually the x factor is my favorite album, top 1 of all in the world. I'm so grateful! So many wonderful emotions listening to it. Virtual eleven is also great!
I'm from the future. Who's still listening to this in 2099?
@andrewschafer9342 😄
