24:50 it did a good job protecting the passenger compartment because the automation cars don't have as good damage mapping as the standard or even a lot of mod cars, they're always really rigid by comparison
Suggestion - a historic version of the Mercedes project one (a money no object hypercar with an formula 1 engine in it). To sum it up you would need: 1. All quality sliders up to 15 2. Engine that matches F1 regulations for the time. 3. Produce a competitive amount of power (who wants to buy a car with a crap racing record) without the use of mufflers and a catalytic converter (although they would need to be added for road use). Basic details about each era of f1 engines can be found on is own wikipedia page, as well as an approximate amount of power for each era. I tried making just the engine for every year in f1 history and it stopped producing a competitive amount of power after 1984, although it was briefly competitive again in 1989.
just some thoughts for future vids! If you want to build a car purposely for offroading, then you’d want solid axles all-round. Preferably solid coils, but solid leaf also works well. If you need to balance comfort and offroading, then macpherson struts all round or a combination of struts and semi-traling arm is your best alternative. Another thing for your offroad car is the engine. You want the torque to be all available low-down in the powerband. I’d suggest a cam profile of no more than 40, and if you want more power without sacrificing the low-end, try giving it a relatively small turbo, it’ll make heaps of torque on the low-end and make more power on the high end. Hope this helps, and keep it up! 👍🏻

that was a nice attempt! if anything, this would be looking a bit Australian Offroad, like for sandy hard ground a small width is good cause it cuts in and make the turn happen, while a muddier terrain would need larger tires like from 285 to 300 mm also rims about 14 to 16 inches (lots of rubber and low tire pressure so they bend and twist a bit without peeling off.) to make it sink less in and have maximum contact. also having the gearing as low as you can on 1st gear with RPM under 5000 is important! (for any Offroader) some times you want to spin full power but some times you want as close to 1 to 1 wheel speed to ground. my ideal setup would be a Jeep Wrangler type (as square wheel placement as possible, not rectangular) with 300 HP, torque as high and starting as early as possible, 1st gear as low speed as possible, second gear being a "second 1st gear" and third gear topping at 100 Km/h (60 MPH) the rest would just be extra over drives. ride height would clear the front wheels for 45 degree or as sanely close as i can, tires would be wide and sticking out in a square shape as much as i can. power distribution would be 60% front, 40% back, suspension springs would be based on the sport springs with race dampeners, but height almost at top, people for max flex have 0 saw bars, i would limit that and put them at 1400 front and 1800 back (lower or higher but back stiffer) so for the suspension numbers: springs: around 3.4 front 3.0 back dampeners: around 4.0 front and back Sway Bars 1400 front 1800 back. those are averages to "aim for" but you should tweak so the red and blue bounce curves line up at purple as much as you can. (not all vehicles weights the same so...) also Automation has weird expectation on what is drivable... on a perfect flat plane it may be right but no road is flat hence "surprise!" is what i usually get when trying the "perfect settings" then i just end up making all the yellow warning signs pop and re-export and BAM it becomes drivable. (not all suggestions are bad but it helps to ignore some when you know what you are doing!)
Here's an idea: a car with the offroading ability of a shopping trolley! The lowest possible suspension, the biggest possible overhangs, and suspension as stiff as hardtack.
Hey Consider, you probably won't see this, but I'll do it for anyone who cares: Front Engine is done in offroad vehicles so you don't flip the car climbing. While this seems counter-intuitive as the heaviest point would have leverage, it's also important to remember that in an off-roading situation, you're typically not going up anything steep enough for it to get leverage, you're using 4WD which splits power 25% to each wheel (with lockers, which fully lock the diff) so it pulls the car, and you don't have the issue of torque throwing the front over back with the weight up front.
The El Chupacabra (black car, length was compared to the Wayfarer) is definitely American. It's slow, you can't feel anything inside it, and it's very luxurious. There are generally two markets in America - people who want fun cars (or at least a nice commuter) and something for old people that's not very fast but has a V8, and is super luxury.
