The centella blemish cream is a really good overnight spot treatment. Using your little finger put a dab on and let it dry while you sleep. Yes, you have to make sure you cleanse it off, but I like that it gets rid of the pimple without leaving a dry patch - which is what other spot treatments tend to do.
I love the Lush bath bombs and their body conditioner bars, but I don’t use much else from them these days. In fact, I used one of their fresh masks that had a bunch of fruit in it, and I ended up getting a mild rash from the fruit juice 🙃
I honestly never use their products except their honey bar soap and I'm disappointed that they got rid of their honey cleansing bar in my local lush store honestly there is nothing good that they have except that bar soap for the body
Love this - I even cringe at stuff I used like 2 years ago 😂. Our skin changes and our knowledge grows as well. There are even great products I had that just doesn’t work on me anymore. Gotta change it up sometimes! ❤

I bought this sunscreen a few years ago as well, I thought it seemed quite good but then I discovered K beauty sunscreens and never looked back! BofJ sunscreen for the win! 😀
Omg Lush is also what got me started on an amateur skincare journey when I started getting cystic acne in early university! Somehow their fresh face masks were able to eliminate it at the time and to this day I still use their Tea Tree Water 🤣 it’s the only thing I buy though from them and I’ve learned so much over the years
I absolutely LOVE Corsrx, my heart totally dropped when I saw them in the title. I've never tried their centella cream, but I did buy the Madagascar centella serum from skin1004 that you recommended and I am obsessed with it!
Honestly if u get blemishes more than pimples is a great addition, is the only thing that works on my me as a spot treatment . I do wait for it to like dry a bit cause of how thick it can be. But it works
The whole madagascar line from skin1004 is lovely in my experience. I've used the cosrx cream and I'd give the same comments as the video. It does absolutely nothing for me.
I actually love the cosrx centella cream. I've had a sudden breakout of acne (no history previously) and it's the only product to have calmed the spots down! Ive tried antibiotics and adapalene and they didn't work. I agree with the whiteness but I'll forgive that because of the benefits!
I absolutely love some of Kiehl's products. I likely could be getting similar products for cheaper, but their midnight recovery oil cleanser is so good and I love the scent.
I have oily breakouts prone skin and dermatillomania (skin picking disorder) so my journey to skincare was a long and painful one. From searching products that would break me out less, to those controlling and healing damage and scarring after a skin picking session. LUSH was among the brands I tried out and the Tea Tree water was something that I enjoyed too, as well as their Amazon Primer facial oil, which, surprisingly, as oil that claimed to make your skin matte... actually did that. Quite sad that I cannot find it anywhere anymore... Felt so calming and soothing and would definately buy it now. The COSRX products are very new to me, but I am happy I came across them, their Acne patches were God send. While the Centella Blemish Cream I would not use on my face for the exact same reasons as you say, I use on my arms and forearms instead. That is area that I have started to pick quite a lot in the past years and it really really helped to control the breakouts, and to soothe and heal the skin if I would go on "my little adventures". One other product that I said I will never buy again was their AC Calming Foam Cleanser... What was that I do not know, but I have never experienced a cleanser that I would like to cleanse with another cleanser... to wash it off. It is thick, and it felt like the ingredients in it formed powder that would set in the skin like clay mask and rather than feeling refreshed I would feel like there is a thick 1 kg clay layer on my skin clogging me and not letting my skin to breathe. Don't know how this happened, but I actually threw it away with no remorse cause I could not even recommend it to anyone... 😬
I'm so happy you mentioned the ingredient Limonene. I was tested for chemical allergies and limonene and linalool are a couple of ingredients I'm very allergic to. For me to buy skincare and makeup, I need to do research before purchase anything.
I absolutely love the cosrx centella blemish cream! For sure a pm treatment. I only use on areas where im breaking out and i find this to be the only topical product (outside of prescription creams and retinol) that calms my breakouts! Never had an issue with washing the product off though...
Omg that aloe Vera gel! 😭 it was the first product I bought you recommended and it did not work as a moisturizer at aaaall. But back then, I used to get my mustache waxed or threaded and it was sooo calming for that lmao. I still have it for burns when I mess up cooking 😂 what a hurried memory
I remember lush tea tree water. As well as other stuff. Never again. But back then we really didn't have all the beautiful skincare products we have now, also we didn't have RUclips and skintellectual community to learn about how to take care of our skin.
Honestly i just started using the lush solid serum bar and i love it its very hydrating and gentle. I also enjoy their maiz face and body scrub as its also super gentle and hydrating, and their vitamin c face wash pot
Honestly i just started using the lush solid serum bar and i love it its very hydrating and gentle. I also enjoy their maiz face and body scrub as its also super gentle and hydrating, and their vitamin c face wash pot
I think personally I've found the centella blemish cream is best used after you have used a pimple patch to take out all the gunk, then you dab it on overnight and it helps to soothe and heal the pimple faster. I just dab on a pea sized amount and haven't found any difficulty removing it when washing my face in the morning. But of course, it just depends on if you need it in your routine as it has quite a specific use
Wow the tea tree water was my favorite prodect as an oil skin teen. And I still use a local drugstore aloe gel as moisturiser in the summer (but no alcohol, has glycerin and no oils/ perfumes, does have Syntetic dye as the last inci but still good for me. And worked even when my barrier was damaged.
I used to love lush for similar reasons and looking back now as someone dxed with Rosacea, it's really unfortunate that they add so many perfumes and scents because that's 100% the part of their skincare stuff that was irritating my skin back then :( I have to be very cautious about any added fragrance, it's frustrating!
Lush got me into skincare, and they are one of the few brands that my skin tolerates. I've used Phresh Pharmacy as my cleanser for years and I used enzymion as my moisturizer for as long, but recently switched to gorgeous because I'm in my 40s now and need a bit extra. I moved to an area that doesn't have a lush, tried to switch to more accessible brands, and my body freaked out and had to go back to lush. There are only a few items from a few brands I can add in that don't mess me up for a week. Glad to see some lush love.
The Innisfree volcanic clay toner was in my routine for years along with the rest of that volcanic clay line. It did actually quite well with my very very oily skin.
Haha I used to be obsessed with lush tea tree water in my high school days! I still purchase the nature Republic aloe for sunburn in Aus - but didn't know it was meant for a moisturiser
I recently used the Innisfree volcanic toner 2x a day for a few weeks without realizing it was stripping my skin! It felt gentle to apply, but my skin became badly sensitized and I’m on a “bland” skin routine to recover. I couldn’t even use my regular moisturizer. I really liked using it before I realized what was happening!
I used the same two products from Lush when I was young! They weren't my first skincare product but were my first sort of higher end ones. They didn't work on my acne at all, and I ended up having to go to a dermatologist, but that went well for me with some oral medicine. The first over the counter product that I tried successfully was the Clean & Clear continuous control acne cleanser with 10% benzoyl peroxide. My skin back then had no response to salicylic acid, but benzoyl peroxide worked like a dream.
Could you recommend alternative use for the Cosrx centella spot treatment? Don’t want to throw it away directly , maybe there is smth else I could apply it too? Thanks James
With the spot treatment, I just apply a good amount and then put a bandaid over it at night. Then in the morning I just apply a toner pad over the spot and it wipes off super easy! I don't think they reformulated tho
I still love the Tea Tree Water from Lush, but I definitely don't use it as my main toner. I love using it when my skin really needs a wakeup because the spray really helps. I also love their Greased Lightning gel that also has tea tree oil in it, but that's also a once in a while product because I find it's not as effective if it's used too often. Their haircare is absolutely my favorite though! And some of their bar soaps for shower time are lovely. The smell luring you in made me laugh because it's so true, Lush stores have an intoxicating scent. ALSO I haven't tried anything from COSRX aside from their spot stickers, but I swear by them. They are the only patch product that works on my skin, other brands don't even do anything.
I love Grease Lightening!! I have a lot to learn about skincare (that’s why I follow James) but I’ve been using it for years now and it’s one of the only products that has managed to help calm my breakouts// Every other product I’ve personally tried from Lush hasn’t done much for me so that’s the only one I buy from them anymore.
Anyone remember the Clarisonic phase??? OOOOF talk about over exfoliating 😭😭 “The brush cleans your pours” when in reality you were rubbing the shit out of your face, overcleaning & over exfoliating for the 2 minutes. I used to be OBSESSED thinking my skin was so smooth but in reality it was being damaged as hell!!
I honestly love Lush but just their bath and moisturizers. Their Power conditioner did wonders for my partners hair. It was severely damaged because he never learned how to care for curls and would brush the HELL out of it. It’s the only conditioner we’ve found that brought back the curls instantly and 2 months later it’s growing back way way healthier.
Honestly I wanted to be a customer at Lush so bad when I was in University, but they were kinda overpriced but more over I could not stand the smell gave me an instant headache. So I would usually just run in get my favorite vanillary parfume stick and run out.
I still use the centella blemish cream. It works for me, in fact, I came across it through your channel. It does get messy when I go to sleep with the cream, but I solved the problem by using a pimple patch over it and that helps the cream stay in place. It dries up my pimple overnight. Not meant to apply it all over your face.
ty for reminding me about the cosrx blemish cream!! I think it's for eczema and psoriasis because of the zinc. It is a life saver and the relief is instant.
I absolutely love the cosrx centella blemish cream and it’s the only moisturizer I’ve ever used that keeps my skin hydrated all night and doesn’t break me out (I’ve got extreme dry skin and awful breakouts which is the worst combo lmao). But I’ve been trying to find a dupe bc the amount you get is so small bc it’s technically a spot treatment and it leaves that awful white cast so I can’t use it during the day. Would love to hear if you know of any dupes or similar moisturizers ❤
I still use the aloe vera I grab it from from T.J. Maxx Not every day but like to layer my whole body with that after shower followed by a body oil / body butter
Lol I still use that volcanic toner in the summer! I get really oily so I use a few times a week. But I can't use it in the winter because I get sudden combination skin and I need moisture!
The cosrx centella is so gd! I've been using it for the last 5 years on and off. I always go back to it because it's the only thing that removes redness n irritation of the skin. Use it as a spot treatment or apply a light layer on certain areas. U do not wear this like a normal moisturizer during day or night. But I do agree it's slightly odd to get off and can come off easily if u dont allow enough time to dry. I use it mostly on lazy days at home where I can keep it on my face all day.
I used to exfoliate my face with a scrub daily, sometimes even twice! No wonder why my cheeks were red and no foundation wanted to stay on my nose🙄 Btw, I think you'd love Lumene skincare products! Even though it's a brand from Finland, they ship internationally. Especially their moisturizing toner (the one in the pink bottle called Hellä) is amazing and has that "fat water" texture!
James! Have you tried the new Glow Recipe Avocado cleanser? I'd be curious to know your thoughts as I'm considering buying it for myself, and I know you usually love their stuff 🙂
Dude when I was 17-18 and super oily / hormonal, almost my entire skincare routine was Lush: Dark Angels, Grease Lightning, and Ocean Salt (once a week). My combo and sensitive 30something skin is screaming at the mere thought. You can pry Ro’s Argan out of my cold dead hands tho
I laughed so hard when you started reading the Keihls description. Because I also had the worst experience with it. It was sooo heavy and greasy that I had the worst breakout ever. Hilariously different than the description lol
Still learning about my skin. As I only got into skincare about 3 years ago. Now I'm 39yo and really trying to be careful on what I buy and as I have oilier skin I use a lot of your recommendations but not all as I like a matte look.
8:57 i’m one year late, but i wished that i watched this video before i bought this toner lmaooo my best friend gave me an innisfree coupon and this was one of the cheapest toners that was still interesting to me, so i picked it. saving it to use when i use up my currently open products, let’s hope that twice a week would make my experience okay at least i know my skin might be a bit different from yours, but i’m Also a combination/rosacea-prone person, so our experiences might be quite similar
I love glycolic acid SO much more than niacinamide for reducing pore size. It really WORKS! I used my serum overnight on my nose the first time not knowing it was a wash off mask. No problem! I do it every night now (leave it on overnight) since half a year and my skin hasn't looked this good since I was eight years old.
Lush is good for shower gel and hand soap. The gel that smells like cotton candy is nice and the lime hand/body soap smells divine! I wouldn’t buy face wash there though
I only go to Lush for body care stuff and bath bombs nowadays (I cannot recommend the sticky sates shower gel enough. It smells EXACTLY like sticky toffee pudding.). I don't mind their haircare and skincare items but there's just better stuff out there (though I will say, most of their shampoo bars contain SLS as the primary ingredient which makes them pretty drying, sure, but if you need a good clarifying shampoo, look no further.)
I used lush's angels on bare skin and the mask of magnanimity, I had to stop using it cos.it just dried.my skin out. I also used clean and clear plus Tea tree toner and face wash. I thought I had oily skin, so I was always trying to get rid of it! I actually have combo skin but using all these harsh things would make my face produce more oil because.i was stripping it x
There’s a product that I’m still using and still loving that’s giving me some grief. I’m almost 100% sure that Tatcha’s dewy cream is giving me some little pustules here and there but I can’t stop using it because of the other benefits. It’s replaced almost all of my night-time routine. My skin is so even toned, glowy and silky! It plumps out every little fine line I have and completely solved any dry or flaky patches. I’m definitely willing to just pop a pimple patch over any blemishes I get from it because the rest of the results are just so good!
I started using the COSRX centrally blemish cream after my skin decided to blow up over the holidays. As someone with dry skin, I do find the cream dries down in my blemishes (also not sure if I have a newer formula tho). I gotta say I do agree with the cons re: applying all over tho.. and it does take a bit of effort to remove but I can usually just gently wipe it off with water💦
Ughhh coalface. I bought it and it was sooo drying on me. I used to love that "stripped" feeling. Follow that with some clean and clear exfoliator then finish it off with Simple rich moisturiser.
I got into the lush tea tree toner and inkey list balm because of your old videos and seeing them in these videos I'm like nooo. They do work for me however
I had almost the same experience with the Kiehls sunscreen. The only impressively lightweight one I could find at that time was one from Biotherm Homme, I still think it's really good, but way too expensive and that's why I was searching for a cheaper alternative. The Kiehl's one was highly recommended to me by the store clerk and was not terrible, but not as lightweight as it could be. I'm so happy now that I found the Isntree one! In HK I just bought it on Yesstyle for 8 USD, mind-blowing!
In the early days of youtube I was instructed by someone or other to use pepto bismol on my face to stop my oily skin ruining my make up. I persisted with that madness for two months until a friend took me aside and correctly told me I looked like I was wearing a death mask
The story I got was milk of magnesia, not Pepto. They’re both good stomach medications (but bad for skin!). It’s really interesting how the beauty/skincare rumor mill spreads this kind of misinformation.
I’ve tried so many skincare brands from Superdrug specials through to super spendy…..but I’ve never tried Kiehls. They’re just not a brand I’ve ever warmed to and always seemed over hyped
Actually i start to use the Cosrx centella blemish cream because i saw it in one of your videos 😊I couldn't find it at that time but after long time they made it again available. Since then i fell in love with it because for me works very well when my skin is irritated or i have some big inflammated under skin pimple. I use it after moisturizer and only on night skincare routine. I never had any issues in the morning with wash it off..I use it on summer when my skin is more oily and also in winter when i have pretty dry skin and always help me out 🤷🏻♀️ Always i wake up with zero irritated skin and the inflammation and redness of the pimple are always less.😊Thank you for sharing so much with us. Thanks to you i create a real skincare routine and i learnt a lot about how works my skin and discovered lots of products that changed my skin ❤️ Love and much health 🐱💜🐶
I used to have microdermabrasion and I wish I never had! It created tears in my skin and damaged the pores on my cheeks and ever since, I've gotten more blackheads there. BHA's are good at keeping them at bay mostly, however sometimes I do have to extract them or the get inflamed and nothing tlse gets rid of it! I do try to be really gentle though now, not like when I was younger and scraped the sh*t out of it 🤣
Omg LUSH, I brought just before Christmas their limited edition bath gel, thinking it was bath bubbles with mica, well brought it for the sparkels 😅 I have very sensitive skin, like even some products to was from the Skin ireitates my skin, and Skin's products are mostly for the sensitive skin. Anyways, somehow nothing that I have from Lush irritates my skin. Maybe it's because they use more natural ingredients 🤔
Thank you so much for the growth you’ve shown. I so appreciate that as an influencer you’re willing to admit your past mistakes show your learning journey. As someone new to skincare and beauty it’s really helpful for me. I used the reformulated Kiehls sunscreen. I didn’t think it was anything special. I’m not repurchasing because the price point is SO high when you can get better products for less.
You are not doing anything wrong! Niacinamide IS quite amazing and can be a wonderful addition to your skincare routine, but it's in no way mandatory or "needed". Everybody's skin is different, so if a product/ingredient doesn't work for you, don't use it! It's okay, try new things, if you can. Hope this helps you 🥰
Same here. I started using niacinamide toners & serums but they haven't helped control my oily nose & I am sure, has contributed to my rosacea flare-ups! My skin is behaving better without it.

Absolutely made my afternoon! Love you and your content James!!! ❤
Omg the lush and body shop tea tree stuff was so god damn good oh my teenage pimply skin. Memories!
Lush also got me into skincare! Haven’t shopped there in about a decade tho lol

I love their tea tree water too… it smells so amazing and refreshing. I loved putting it in the fridge and I still love it, cute little product
A neat video would be going over new skin care technology, and what it’s supposed to do. Or how it contrasts, replaces or compliments the classics.
Haha I used to be obsessed with lush tea tree water in my high school days! I still purchase the nature Republic aloe for sunburn in Aus - but didn't know it was meant for a moisturiser
Oooh Lush tea tree water was what got me into skincare too!
Always great getting a notification from you! 💜
Your salt & pepper beard has absolutely made my day, you flippin gorgeous creature
I still love using Lush's Angels on Bare Skin in the winter as a more moisturizing morning cleanser for me 😁
i love your voice 🥰 I'm going to rewatch videos as sleep sounds
I have to agree with you on the cosrx blemish cream, bought it years ago. Had nooo idea how to use it i dont think ive finished it 😅
I honestly love Lush but just their bath and moisturizers. Their Power conditioner did wonders for my partners hair. It was severely damaged because he never learned how to care for curls and would brush the HELL out of it. It’s the only conditioner we’ve found that brought back the curls instantly and 2 months later it’s growing back way way healthier.
This type of video absolutely 💯 amazing 👏 😍 keep up 💗
Honestly I wanted to be a customer at Lush so bad when I was in University, but they were kinda overpriced but more over I could not stand the smell gave me an instant headache.
I have the aloe vera gel but I use it with my nuface. I bought it on a whim when I went into nature republic store in london
The centella blemish cream is my ride or die product for red pimples 🤍✨🤍 loved this video though 😂
ty for reminding me about the cosrx blemish cream!! I think it's for eczema and psoriasis because of the zinc. It is a life saver and the relief is instant.
I started getting electrolysis on my face so I have stopped retinoids.
Now I just use vitamin c in the morning and double cleanse at night.
Maxx
Not every day but like to layer my whole body with that after shower followed by a body oil / body butter
Thank you for the video James! Awesome as always 😁
Still learning about my skin. As I only got into skincare about 3 years ago. Now I'm 39yo and really trying to be careful on what I buy and as I have oilier skin I use a lot of your recommendations but not all as I like a matte look.
I remember using Lush's Angles on Bare Skin twice a day as a cleanser when I was in my late teens/early 20s 😭
8:57 i’m one year late, but i wished that i watched this video before i bought this toner lmaooo
my best friend gave me an innisfree coupon and this was one of the cheapest toners that was still interesting to me, so i picked it. saving it to use when i use up my currently open products, let’s hope that twice a week would make my experience okay at least
i know my skin might be a bit different from yours, but i’m Also a combination/rosacea-prone person, so our experiences might be quite similar
What a throwback 😂💙👏
I used to use aloe Vera with tea tree as a moisturiser, I also used to wash my hair with aloe Vera and coconut oil
The aloe gel is great for dermaplaning !
I used that vacuum for my skin🙄 it damaged my skin so bad! I can’t even help it anymore! I got all these pigment problems 🤦♀️
Noooooo 😮
Plz tell me why that image of the charcoal face soap looked like an old pack of birth control from the 90's/early 00's 😆
I used to love a lot of the body shop products. It was my gateway to the skincare world.
So you'd say it's worth the money? I'm so keen to try but it's so exxy 😭
Oh man this takes me back to the days where I was obsessed with Lush Ultrabland
I got into the lush tea tree toner and inkey list balm because of your old videos and seeing them in these videos I'm like nooo. They do work for me however
I used to love that toner
I used The Body Shop Tea Tree soap and witch hazel toner on my face for years, following up with Oil of Ulay moisturiser. 😂
Oh my gosh, I had completely forgotten that I tried the same with milk of magnesia 😦 I must have only done it a couple times before giving it up
As someone who was born and raised in Reading, hearing you shout out The Oracle made me pause like wut lmao
Aw man I love ur voice 😂❤❤
The only things I buy from Lush now days are shower gels and perfume lol Just because I love the scent.
Love Lush
I also buy the shampoo bars and massage bars
@@Fallendown45 the massage bars are so underrated! I wish they would come out with more
💞 Hello James 💞 Happy Wednesday 💞💞
I used to have microdermabrasion and I wish I never had! It created tears in my skin and damaged the pores on my cheeks and ever since, I've gotten more blackheads there. BHA's are good at keeping them at bay mostly, however sometimes I do have to extract them or the get inflamed and nothing tlse gets rid of it! I do try to be really gentle though now, not like when I was younger and scraped the sh*t out of it 🤣
I only use COSRX thanks to you James! I love all the products I've tried, thank you James! BTW I pass for 35 and I'm 51 now!
I feel like niacinamide just makes me more oily and I get congested pores. Am I doing something wrong? Help 🥺 I know I should be using it lol
I work at lush and love the face masks and toners, not all the skincare works for me but they're great products!
I used to use this facial scrub from Lush called Ocean Salt and it literally has massive pieces of really coarse seasalt in it and that shit hurt sm 😵
