Relentless high energy shredding by PG. Always great tunes. Putting him at #4 all time is underrating him. He's #1 in my book.

I miss so much this kind of light-hearted, fun, powerpop sound
Also, can Jeff Martin play the drums? Fuck yeah he can!

Great cover of "Mr Skin" by Spirit!
Love Paul Gilbert, his passion and enthusiasm for rocking the heck out are infectious. And he's a completely ridiculous player, of course!

Paul is amazing and he sings great. What an energy he has. One of the best and to me is on top 5 with Hendrix, Gary Moore, Gilmour, Page.

Gilbertos choice of material when he write songs has never been my cup of tea.But I still consider him one of the best axe slingers .

at that time Paul seemed to try beeing popular..with some strange pop music..most of his long time fans (including me) were really pissed of...cause..let`s be honest....NOBODY wanted to hear music like this from pablo...
And everybody who says "This is good Music from Paul" just lies to himself

Haha, believe it or not, i miss this Gilbert a lot! I remember him saying that his roots, what he always loved as a kid, was rock-pop with singing, he really did start instrumental stuff only in the mid-late 2000... Personally i loved his solo albums, Alligator Farm is arguably my favorite, as much as Racer X and Mr.Big, power-pop with mindblowing shredding, cool stuff... The instrumentals were great too, but after Fuzz Universe something changed, i really can't get into Vibrato, SPUM or I Can Destroy, i want this Paul back, and Racer X too, lol...

Nicola Ferrari me too i liked those albums and songs also the shredding in between was like super creative and raw at the same time

I'm with you, guys. I miss this powerpop stuff so much!! People underestimate pop but in fact it's really difficult to compose something that is so intricate technically and at the same time of easy assimilation. I grew up to this music, from King of Clubs to Spaceship One, the golden era of rock guitar of the 2000's. I guess what happened is that he couldn't sing those songs on stage anymore and had to reinvent himself. Also, I really miss bassist Mike Szuter on his band, that guy could sing and play mad bass!

After a more accurate listen, i started to like Vibrato and SPUM, and i'd say that I Can Destroy is the closest to his early solo records in terms of light-hearted, popish stuff...
Now the new one, Behold Electric Guitar, PG is really getting into bluesy-jazz these days and he changed a lot... I love every one of his incarnation, from the teenage shredding's prodigy to the seasoned musician he's now...
But his early solo records will always remain my favorite, probably because we grew up with them also, but still, PG was amazing with that stuff, you had incredibly melodic, soulful love songs like "Rosalinda Told Me" coupled with a shredding's masterpiece like "Let The Computer Decide", awesome... And let's not forget that in that era we got other 3 fantastic albums from Racer X, another band i miss so much...
