Absolutely, austerity is the same as shrinking the economy.
Every salary earner puts with IT NIC VAT etc about 38% of this into the Exchequer. The services they buy provides jobs for others to in turn pay another 38%.
After 14 years of austerity it is no wonder taxation is as high as 1945.

Even bringing up unemployment shows how dishonest this is pretty much objectively. Easy to say unemployment is lower when you have people working one hour per week on a zero-hours contract classed as 'fully employed".
Why they are still getting on air time to play the victim?

Countries in africa have the highest growth in the world. That doesn't make them rich. That doesn't mean the quality of life there is measureably going up.
Our economy took the biggest shit during 2020, so it will rise quickly as it still has to get back to where it was, a mark everyone else has already passed
@@JSmith19858 It won't rise quickly. It will rise slowly (still an improvement on before), because we still have Brexshit trade barriers fucking things up. That will remain the case until they are totally removed by rejoining the EU.
@@TheTwosliceToaster there are no trade barriers. The only difference is customs forms and paying duty which, if you've traded with nations outside of the EU before Brexit, aren't hard to deal with

UK has highest growth in G7 but am I right in saying if UK gross was .1% and it rose to 2% growth would be 100%?
That's essentially what it is. Ukraine hit us so hard because of brexit that small gains were massive in the percentages.
If Amy has one apple and I give her one apple she has two apples, that's 100% growth.
If Jim has 4 apples and I give him 1 apple he now has 5 apples. That's 25% growth
Amy has the highest rate of growth in this example. And yet has far less than Jim does.

"We faced 3 major shocks", COVID, Ukraine and Liz Truss.
They used to quote 2 shocks ie covid and Ukraine now it’s become 3. And he sits there and tries to tell how brilliant the Tory’s were in office. If it wasn’t for them we would still be in the EU and would have avoided the massive blow to GDP that that leaving has caused.
I'll be supporting Labour all the way, the Conservatives were only worried about what their mates wanted. We need to make those people squeal with taxes and making their donations cost so much the Conservatives become uneconomic to pump money into.
