For years I have been using the term comfort food and I wonder why sometimes I have a problem giving up certain foods. But the same scripture Jackie Hill Perry speaks of was given to me last week. God hates idolatry which means that even me seeing myself needing comfort in anything other than him was a problem.
It continually amazes me how God, by His Holy Spirit, has taught Jackie how to rightly divide the Word of truth. Praise Him for His faithfulness in her life.
"It's funny how the body will make you want to be a slave in a place you weren't even happy in"!! Wow! I felt that! That has been me struggling with unhealthy relationships, lust and sex for the last 2 years. I wasn't happy in I found it but found it so hard to overcome the desires of my flesh but towards the end of 2019 I could sense that God was ready to remove that hold! He removed all the relationships that were not helping me grow. I'm trying to stay pure for God and I pray he continues to keep me faithful 🙏🏾❤
Same here.. end of 2019.. my worldly relationship with the 1 i trust hs ended. I still struggle ..I knw God put me in this fire situation to mold me to sharpen me. Thank You Lord for saving me though i still in hurt but i knw God walks with me.
He will help you. Continue to grow your relationship with Him. Let His love take the place of a carnal lover. If you fall again know that there is no condemnation, repent and get back on track. Love you in Christ!

Since I was a youth I was always looking for the comfort I didn't receive as a child. As an adult I looked for comfort in drugs and relationships. These things ultimately failed me and rightly so. God is the Great Conforter and I know this now. So much peace in accepting this truth.
